I just realised that you can see our programme from The Full Set on the RTE website:

My voice was completely gone so I'm gesticulating like a stuck octopus!

The union, grand union and uilleann piper, Ronan Browne recently received a legacy of one of the oldest working sets of Irish pipes in existence. They are a James Kenna of Ballinacarrigy set of early union pipes with four drones and one four-note regulator, dating from the late 1700s. The pipes were presented to him by the indefatigable patron of piping, Mr. Kenneth D. McLeod.

This set of union pipes is from now on to be known as 'The Legacy Set' and a legal agreement has been drawn up to ensure that the instrument will only ever rest in the possession of an active player who will perform on it. As the pipes pass down from player to player, each new guardian must carry on the spirit of the original agreement, much as this granting has itself been carried out in the spirit of the late Seán Reid who so generously bestowed instruments on Peter O'Loughlin, Liam O'Floinn and Jimmy O'Brien Moran, and who contributed, along with Ken McLeod to the purchase of Robbie Hannan's pipes.

Ronan Browne is happy, chuffed, a little breathless and enjoying with glee, spitting out notes on this wonderful example of a set made by one of the finest classic makers.

Thanks Ken!

At last!
I've put up a CRAN page.
Please pass on the news.
If anyone knows a good opt-in email list, I'd love to know - I'm looking for a way to keep in contact with people re. CRAN gigs and news but the MySpace ones never get read (by me anyway!).
