Just another reminder in case you have been living under a rock.

Thursday December 31st New Years Eve
Duffys Tavern Lincoln NE
The Killigans Winter Formal
with special guests
Beatmix Sessions and
Rob "Amazing!" Beals

If you havnt heard about this yet, we have officially dubbed this years NYE show "The Killigans Winter Formal"  You are encouraged to bust out your sweetest formal wear and head downtown for a night of folking punk rock, stellar magicianship and some tasty fresh beats. If you want to be crowned king and queen you damn well better represent.  If you dont want to dress up, at least wear a top hat and monacle.

Really though, you dont HAVE to dress up, but if you do, it will be just that much more fun.  Im not talking renting tuxes here, Im talking, get Granpas plaid suit out of the closet and head down to the tavern.  Grandmas old fur coat?  The one with the tiny woodland creatures stapled around the neck?  Yeah, put that monstrosity on and get down to the rock show.

Our pals Beatmix Sessions will be starting off the night spinning and beating their way into your hearts.  Then stay put for our bands favorite magician/cigarette bummer Rob Beals.  We like to call him Amazing Rob.  He will make your mind sizzle with his trickery and all around awesomeness.  Magic show?  More like magic evening

As if all that wasnt enough, the killigans will be taking the stage to close the night out.   We will be pulling out all your old favorites, some sweet new covers and of course, all the new stuff that is sure to make us all famous and rich so we never have to play this stinking town again.

Peace and Love for 2010

Wow, its been awhile.  We've been neck deep writing, recording, mixing, and getting ready to release the new album "Honor".  Pair that with 3 new babies and one more on the way, new jobs, new houses, and all sorts of other crap, we've had a busy 4-5 months.

First off, Id like to formally announce the newest killigan to the crew..Greg Butcher has officially joined us, playing guitar.  We are all really excited about Greg and we look forward to working with him.  So if you see Greg at a show, make sure and welcome him aboard and tell him how good a job he's doing, and how much he looks like Will Ferrel, Dane Cook, or numerous other actors.

On to the album.  We've titled it "Honor" after one of our favorite tracks, and we plan to officially release it on New Years Eve at Duffys Tavern in Lincoln.  Should be in stores and online in the first couple weeks of 2010.  Its got 11 brand spankin new tracks for you listening pleasure,   hopefully you like some of the new stuff we tried.

stay tuned for more..

A couple quick things:

1.  New video posted of a mini tour out east last summer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tviPeGc7twQ&feature=player_embedded

thanks to mr. jared staab for the hard work and much awkwardness required to get that video for us.  you rule.

2.  We have agreed to allow Universal Pictures to include our music in an upcoming remake of Robin Hood.  We are obviously very stoked to have this opportunity.  The movie wont be out for a year, and its definately not set in stone, but all signs point to you seeing Russel Crowe and hearing killigans in the same movie.  More on that later.

3.  We have finally booked studio time to begin recording our 3rd full length album in late June.

4.  The Street Dogs will be coming to Lincoln May 24th.  Its a sunday night, 9pm at Knickerbockers.  This will be our last show until July 10th when we play the annual Zoo Bar anniversary show outside on 13th street.  That following monday, the 13th, we will be up in omaha in support of The Briggs at Sokol Underground.  More details later

Otherwise, we will be hard at work raising new bebes, and recording the new stuff.

Stay tuned and fight the good fight!

Hey all,
Just a quick note letting everyone know this year will be our 5th annual St Patricks day show.  While our bands direction has come a long way from that first years show back in '05, we still hold this day very near and dear to us.  It always proves to be one of the biggest local shows of the year, and if you come and dont have fun, you passed out too early.
Wanted to let you know we are moving it back to the actual day of st pats this year.  Last year we thought we would try it on the weekend before, and it worked out ok, but we think the spirit of the night was lost a little.  This year the show will be ON St. Pats, Tuesday March 17th.  This means, if you plan on coming, and have to get up early for work the next day, you might want to take that morning of the 18th off NOW.  I know I did.
The show will be at Knickerbockers, as always, and this year we are bringing Omahas "The Filter Kings" to town for their first Lincoln show ever.  If you havnt caught these guys yet, do it here, they are awesome, cow punk meets social D.  Music close to our hearts.
KBs is selling these tickets in advance at ticketmaster.com.  Sorry, the price is $10 this year.  We really hate to charge more than $5 for a show, but we also only do this show once a year.  I believe there will be miller specials, and our free Jameson, as well as enough guinness to fill Salt Creek.
Other shows you may want to catch us at:
March 13th KC Irish Punk Fest at the Beaumont Club in KC
March 14th With Vandon Arms in DesMoines

2 shows coming up this weekend...first up:
On friday Feb 13th the 49r up in omaha is being kind enough to ask us back for a big birthday bash for a bunch of people, including our good friend Rexy, oh, and of course, the infamous Ryanna Swift as well.  Please come on our and show your patronage and wish these gals a happy birthday.  We  have never driven away from this bar sober.  sadly.  or not.  Show starts around 9pm.  Also appearing "making movies" and the much anticipated by us "filter kings".  does that even make sense?
Next
Saturday the 14th we are doing an ultra special one time only death wish of an accoustic show at the zoo bar.  Early!  Yes, 6pm early.  Yeah, this is new territory for us.  We cant hide behind crash cymbals and guitar distortion.  This will be a stripped down form of the band, no drums, no electric guitar.  no promises, but should be a grand old time.  More than likely play some songs we havnt played in years.  This is all happening as part of the 4 day festival LINCOLN EXPOSED.

peace bitches

to get yours pre-ordered now via paypal. Shipment will arrive to us
December 5th, orders placed prior to then will ship to you no later
than December 8th. Just in time for the holidays.

If you live in the Lincoln area, and just want to buy these at a
show, cool. We will be having an official CD release for this at The
Zoo Bar in mid January. More details on that soon.

In general Killigans news, we are still kicking out here in the grain
belt. We have been diligently working on new material, integrating
new instruments, learning new roles, getting through the holidays,
school, work, family, financial woes, whatever. Basically the same
as the rest of the country. We are hoping to have this album ready
to record sometime in the early new year. We are starting to line up
a couple mini-tours, most likely out east to Illinois, and possibly
south. Otherwise, look for us back on stage in mid-January for that
cd release.

Have a safe holiday.

Fighting the good fight,

killigans
