Question:

"I am seeking advice on taking pictures at baseball/softball games. I have a Canon 30D & 80- 400mm lens, some turn out good but some don't, but I still think that I should be able to set it on a setting and get better pix. If you have any suggetsions I would appreciate hearing them, so I can get some good pix of kids."

Question:

"I need flash and light metering information. I am self-taught and while I realize that lighting is everthing, I have too often utilized natural light to the neglect of learning more about light metering and what the best flash equipment is for me. I mainly concentrate in Portrait photography but am just about to shoot my first wedding and want to get it right. It will be outdoors in a rose garden with not filtered light from foliage. So, it will be a very sunny day with high contrast. What is the best yet most affordable flash I should invest in for my Canon 40D? Also, I have seen other wedding/portrait photographers use brackets for their flash to sit higher up; what is the benefit and would you suggest the same? Also, where can I learn about light metering? And can anyone suggest an affordable one?

Also, anyone ever use the Gary Fong Inverted Diffuser? Is it worth the investment for Weddings?

Thanks and I look forward to your response.

One of our members is asking for help:

"It seems like most people shoot with Canon or Nikon but there has to be some that shoots with a Sony! I personally shoot with a Sony Alpha100 and want to know what the best reccomendation is for additional equipment to go along with it. I have been using it for a while now but only recently need to acquire a flash, etc. Any suggestions about equipment that works with a Sony? (I know how much regular equipment costs through Sony) but am curious about other companies that may cost less but wil lalso work wiht my camera...

Or even suggestions  about the camera, anyone have one? Thanks...."

One of our members is asking for some input:

"I am a very new photographer and have only done a few shoots.  I just recently went for a Nikon E4800 to a Canon Power Shot S5.  I have never worked with a lens before and I don't know which one would be a good starter lens.?"

To those of you who are new - and we have A LOT of new members, over 100 cool people joined over the last two weeks and we are over 2550 members strong - WECLOME! - we have a little program here that is called Comment Craving.

You know, when you take a really neat photo and just crave some comments but your [so called] friends have [better] things to do?  Well, count on this community to leave you some love... read below on how to participate.

*** The photo you submit must be yours.
** By submitting your photo you are giving us permission to post it on this site.
* MySpace does not allow nudity or offensive material.

How to Participate:

You may submit up to four photos per month.

1) make sure you don't want to enter your photo in our future contests.
2) Send an email with
- [MONTH] COMMENT CRAVING in the subject line (example: May Comment Craving),
- Myspace ID [your name on here] & URL in message body
- your photo as a FILE ATTACHMENT or imbedded image (pls no links to photo hosting sites)
to shutter-passion@comcast.net.

I am auto filtering these emails in Outlook, based on SUBJECT LINE so it is important that you submit as described. This way your email goes into the correct folder and your photo gets uploaded promptly.

I will try and tag your photo to you, however, because of the number of members we have tagging is difficult and not always possible.
If you do get tagged, you will have to approve the tag.

Past "Comment Cravings" Photos are in the first folder MY PHOTOS in the PICS section.

Current photos are in the second folder named "[Month] Comment Craving"
