2006 IN REVIEW
For continuity's sake I'll do this survey here on myspace and fire up my fourth blog (yay!). my ying to the boy's yang i guess.
1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before? a filmmaking summer course, a few lap dances, went overseas and scored an awesome job offer that i don't want to take, jumped pretty much straight into the sack with a younger boy after seeing him for what? a week? less?
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions and will you make more for next year? i didn't make resolutions last year but instead made a list of things to come. and err...no, i didn't keep them. well hell, i'll make some on my blog in a few days. ya'll know where my blog's at right?
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? actually yes, a good friend of my mother's. it's their first and the most beautiful baby girl who'll grow into the biggest heart breaker. all you yellow fever brothers watch out, in 18 years...my my
4. Did anyone close to you die? no one terribly close but three of our customers at the post office passed. and quite a few closer ones had terribly close calls. an old man has been spending the past 4 months at the Alfred and will have to stay there for a good while longer and just thinking about it makes me cry.
5. What countries did you visit? Singapore. a giant positive step in my life that i'm quickly backtracking now.
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006? sanity. a little patience. and a little more fucking motivation
7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? the strip club, her name was veronika, and her body was bangin' the wind that shakes the barley, the movie was utterly unmemorable, the the person i saw it with, and the ensuing long walk and conversation which stretched out into the longest first date ever.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? making this myspace. no really. i have no idea. i did persue a few things (quite successfully too) right up to the last minute and then fail miserably in the end though.
9. What was your biggest failure? letting people and friendships slip by. not graduating. and all around being not good enough.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? apparently my left leg is noticably shorter than my right. this was not a new problem either, my spine is all out of wack. what is new is my foray into alternative medicine to get it all fixed up.
11. What was the best thing you bought? my lappy. my watch. my haircut
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration? james lipton, for his recitation of popozao on Conen.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed? i couldn't say, i'm just appalled and depressed most of the time
14. Where did most of your money go? buying myself happiness
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? well for the month leading up to dec 15, the prospect of NIDA
16. What song will always remind you of 2006? cat power - the greatest
17. Compared to this time last year, are you: Happier or sadder? Thinner or fatter? Richer or poorer? marginally happier, marginally thinner and very much poorer.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? anything productive at all.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? watching myself waste away in front of the tv and computer
20. How will you be spending Christmas? the big coming together of the parents happened at yum cha. but otherwise it was a lonely year.
21. Did you fall in love in 2006? enough
23. How many one-night stands? mama don't fool around child
24. What was your favourite TV program? entourage. hands down best crap ever
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? mama don't hate on no one either
26. What was the best book you read? white noise
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Mao! Mao! by Claudes Channes as featured in La Chinoise the screaming jap girl of young + restless
28. What did you want and get for some people to like me
29. What did you want and not get? for some people to like me
30. What was your favourite film of this year? Lunacy? yeah probably Lunacy. never laughed so hard, cept for maybe Borat.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? watching cary descend further and further into the abyss of drunkedness, listening to aforementioned jap girl from young+restless scream and dancing my way into 21
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? actually getting somewhere in life
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? ballerina flats and pencil skirts. and layers of tights with chucks.
34. What kept you sane? romantic comedies
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? brangelina. if it was possible to make love to a brand i would. no no i don't mean a threesome even though that'll be all shades of awesome.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? this was the year i stopped caring.
38. Who was the best new person you met? Darren!
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006. people still suck. oh and you know what? if you just close your eyes and just jump it might work out for the best.
this seriously sucks. i'm coming back to it tomorrow and fixing my answers
