Hey, if you never joined our Facebook Group (because you were too lazy, or had too many groups, whatever), why not become a fan of our new Facebook Page?

Q: What is a Facebook Page?
A: A Facebook Page is just like an individual profile, except for a group, artist/band or company.  We can even add apps to the page, yet we still retain all of the same data from our former Group (Wall posts and discussion threads).

You stay classy,
-AndyC.

A Brief History of Solphis Studios
By Tareq Abuissa

Tucker and Fidi Saga
Mid/Late 2004

The precursor of Solphis Studios sprang from the lame antics of two young boys, named Tucker and Fidi. Using their busted up camera, they recorded themselves doing lame stunts, such as jumping up and down on the trampoline, tackling each other, and fighting with noodles. Of course, after beating each other over the head a couple of times, they grew bored. They decided maybe it'd be best if they put away the camera for a while.

Tareq Becomes Interested
Late 2004- 2005

Towards the end of 2004, Tareq and Fidi met. It was love at first sight, and they were good friends after many hours of warm tea. Tareq loved creating all kinds of art and was fairly tech-savvy, and he had a nice backflip. Tareq was young and full of love, and soon joined Tucker and Fidi in their silly stunt videos.

Solphis Studios Is Founded
Late 2005- Early 2006

Fidi's brother Mark had interested Tareq in ambigrams, a kind of art where words tranform into other words by being turned upside-down. While on a ride to a Super Smash Brothers Melee tournament, Tareq experimented with a studio name, Solphis Studios, and it's ambigram. He liked it, and went on to create the Solphis Studios YouTube account, the Solphis Studios Myspace page, and the Flash animation ambigram that begins each and every Solphis Studios production. After the groundwork was set, movies were ready to be filmed!

First Movies
Mid 2006

The first official Solphis Studios production was the How to Dance video. The idea was concieved by Tareq and Fidi early into the ninth grade. They stopped at Tareq's house to take his seven-year-old brother Yusef's clothes, grabbed Tareq's new camera, and went to Fidi's house. They recorded the clips, and Tareq returned home to do the video editting. The movie was posted to YouTube, and a success. The next movie, called Super Smash, unfortunately never experienced the popularity of the other Solphis Studios movies. It depicted Tareq killing his brother Razzi after being offended during Super Smash Brothers Melee, and being eventually consolled by his bud Fidi.

Andy Joins
Late 2006

Tareq and Andy had been friends for several years, but Andy and Fidi hadn't met until earlier that year. Andy was by now well-aquainted with all, and joined the Solphis crew. He popularized the Solphis Studios Myspace, created buddy icons, profile codes, and other HTML-ish awesomeness as well as acting in several of the films.

Later Movies
Late 2006

The first movies involving the whole gang were filmed at a sleepover Tareq had arranged. The most popular movie to date, Power Rangers, was filmed right there on Tareq's trampoline, and many of the clips from Distilled Vinegar were also filmed. Tareq editted both of them and put them up onto YouTube, where they enjoyed many views. Perfect Pitch was filmed at Fidi's house after City High Swimming on a weekend, Tareq-editted, and posted to YouTube. Tareq and Andy also filmed a more intimate movie, Pineapple Bear, while sleeping over at Andy's house. The video was Tareq-editted and posted to YouTube, and Andy created many of things involving it. The last movie of 2006 was created by Tucker, Fidi, and Aurel, editted by Fidi, and entitled Mortal Ping-Pong.

Hope you liked it! I had some spare time while in Syria, and felt compelled to type something up.

Filmed at Tareq's house. Featuring the acting talens of: Tareq, Michael (Fidi), Jason, Claudia, Andy, Tareq's mom, and Tareq's little sister. No vinegar was harmed in the making of this film. Andy, on the other hand, had his gums cut open in the scene when Tareq, Fidi, and Jason are chanting "Chug! Chug! Chug!" and the bottle is forced into his mouth. Also, no real gangsters were filmed. 11/25/06. The one year anniversary of the "CD" thought. In honor of the 'loving' idea, Tareq and Andy decided to make a video about love. Tareq's love for a pineapple and Andy's love for a honey bear. Filmed at Andy's house (undisclosed location) mainly by Razzi. A Solphis Studios Production, copyright 2006.

Set to the instrumental version of the theme for Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, four teens are the new and improved Power Rangers! While practicing before filming the white ranger vs. the blue ranger, Andy (blue ranger) took a punch straight to the mouth. (Don't say I didn't do anything in the video now, Thomas!) No teenage boys were aroused during the filming of this video. (I think?) Filmed by the whole group. A Solphis Studios Production, copyright 2006.
