Current mood:  happy
We're proud and happy to announce that Resist Evil Part One: Dropping Evil was one of 5 feature narratives accepted to play at the Landlocked Film Fest in Iowa City, IA this August!

Check out the roster for the rest of the movies playing--it's overwhelming to think of the amount of effort, time, and money that went into that list of titles.

If you're in the 52245 zip code this August, come see Dropping Evil and support a bunch of other indie cinema!

Man, a lot goin' on right now.

We're just finishing
up work on foley with our fantastic sound designer Mr. Steven
Degennaro, who has made every inch of Dropping Evil PACKED with a sonic
stimulation Louis and I could never have cooked up.  Hearing the axe
fight with real bending metal, hearing the rustling of sheets in a
quiet bedroom argument, hearing the electronic whizzing and beeping of
a functional laboratory...his work has greatly transformed this humble
low-budget movie and we're very grateful.

Now it's time to take
those new soundscapes and rush them over to Soundcrafter here in
Austin, TX, where we'll begin mixing on Monday.  Meanwhile, a certain
Ryan C. Emerson in Chicago, IL is busy uprezzing the image and color
correcting every frame, which we're terribly excited to see.

Finally,
we're recieving our final poster art for Dropping Evil from Dennis
Willman (who did that sweet Killer Biker Chicks work), and I personally
am half-pumped, half-terrified, as the sheer awesomeness of his epic
art both makes our movies look good and holds them up to a really high
standard of badassery we hope we can attain.

Anyway, these three
things in tandem are building up to us finally being able to start
shopping distribution for Dropping Evil, as well as organize a few
screenings to get the public an initial look at what we spent the last
2 years doing.

Right now it's time to keep pluggin' away on
presskits and working on the edits of the other two films...but we
should have that final cut of Dropping Evil finished in about 2 weeks.
Until then...resist something else.

Hey there Resisters,

Dropping Evil is well on its way!  In just a few weeks our sound mastering and image correction will be complete, and we'll be looking to unleash this bad boy on the world!  In the meantime, help us get some H-Y-P-E goin', and check out the new set of 6 lobby cards below.

Also, make sure to head over to
ArrowInTheHead.com to see the piece the nice folks over there did on Dropping Evil!  If you like it, leave comments!  It's time to roll out the big guns (the kind that spring from palms and foreheads) on promotion, and every little bit helps.

That's all for now, but whispers in the dark tell me that official poster art for Dropping Evil is coming soon...done by none other than the talented
Dennis Willman, who did the amazing art on Killer Biker Chicks...

Thanks again for all the continuing support!

RESIST!

Hey dudes and dudettes,

Just thought I'd check in and let you all know the up-to-the-minute status of The Resist Evil evolution.

We are finished with the rough cut of Dropping Evil (Part One), and are in the process of working with our wonderful composer Ian McKinney to get it scored. We're about halfway there on soundtrack and mixing, and look forward to having the first film completed (pre-sound mixing and image correction) in the next few weeks. I feel pretty comfortable and non-arrogant saying that the music is kick-ass. Having not produced it myself, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's okay to brag about the fact that Ian's doing a fantastic job and still maintain humility.

In the meanwhile, we've been working on editing God is Missing! (Part Two). We're about an hour into the timeline right now, which is about halfway through the movie. As I'm typing this, the camera is busy uploading a particularly cool scene of Armin Shimerman and Cassandra Powell into the Official Roklaf Hard Drive which Louis and I will edit later tonight. Microwave burritos and shot/reverse-shot have become our bread and butter.

Thanks again to everyone involved with these films--watching the footage is making us realize more and more how much everyone gave of themselves to make these movies as good as possible. Don't think we don't appreciate it.

Welp...camera stopped importing. On to the next tape!

Keep resisting!

Resist Evil is actively seeking promotional art (POSTERS, BOX COVERS, ETC.) to prepare for the soon-to-be-released DROPPING EVIL.

We are seeking artists with a know-how (either comic or film promotion background or skill) who can design some lobby posters, lobby cards, etc. We are going for an 80s aesthetic with this particular release.

Please contact us via myspace or at louis.doerge@gmail.com OR at (319) 621 - 6841 if you're interested. Make sure that you have art online, or can send some via cyberspace for reference.

Thanks!

Hey Resisters!

Editing is flying by faster than we could've hoped. We just finished our first rough cut of Resist Evil Part One: Dropping Evil, and are working hard with our amazing composer Mr. Ian McKinney to finalize our score. Meanwhile, Louis and I are working on foley so those sticks through the head sound like skull and brain is being crushed, and fine-tuning all that sound and image stuff up the wazoo. Point is--the bulk's done and now we're down to details. That means...expect a real finished movie very soon.

We're looking at a couple more weeks working on this one, and then it's on to the next! Thank God we shot all three movies at once...

After we finish post on this bad boy of a trilogy-starter, you can expect to hear and see more (clips, by jove, clips!). Until then, I leave you with this...

Yes, Resisters, after nearly a year and a half of production, principal photography is wrapped!

The official production start for Resist Evil began on June 1st 2007, though some cast members had been working far longer since we'd made a half-hour "pilot version" of the first movie the winter beforehand.  In these 15 months of hard work, we shot each movie in the trilogy.

Okay, so it didn't really take us 5 months a movie to shoot.  Juggling making one independent movie, let alone a trilogy, with day to day life is no easy task, and since many of our actors and crewmembers had jobs, school, etc. there was a lot of time off simply because of scheduling conflicts.  There was also Iowa's worst winter since the 50's this last season, something that halted us in our tracks for about 3 months straight.  These minor delays aren't the point though...Point is--actors, crew, costumers, production managers--we had setbacks but dammit we shot it.

Editing and other post-production work is set to begin September 25th, and we'll be progressing movie by movie to get these things chopped and ready as soon as possible.

It's been a long, fun road, and we can't extend our thanks enough to everyone who helped make this happen.  From the actors who dedicated large chunks of their lives to their roles, to the investors who helped us finance our props budget, to Corbin in effects who can make a realistic severed arm out of an empty Mountain Dew bottle and some latex.  You've all done tremendous work we can't thank you enough for, and we'll do our best to make you proud in the editing room.

Much love,

Adam and Louis

Hello Resisters!

We are proud, pleased, honored and humbled to announce that Armin Shimerman will be joining our cast as a key role in the Resist Evil franchise.

You may recognize Mr. Shimerman from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as Quark...

quark

or from Buffy The Vampire Slayer as the notorious Principal Snyder...

All three Resist Evil features will be wrapping production at the end of August. Stay tuned and keep resisting!

Just writing to let all you Resisters know that we have up our first "official" teaser trailer for the complete Resist Evil Trilogy, starring Tiffany Shepis, Edwin Neal, Felissa Rose, and Fred "The Hammer" Williamson as Commander Death Blood.

If you're uninformed, Resist Evil is a three-part serial that chronicles the political, supernatural, divine, and generally bizarre mayhem that unfolds in a world where God has mysteriously gone missing.

We're still hard at work in production, but expect all three movies to be wrapped by early Summer 2008, so go ahead and take an early look at the trilogy teaser and let us know what you think!
