That's right, it's almost time for the annual Capricorn Chillout.
Some of you joined us in 2007 for the first one, it was Shuttle Debris, Ear to Anon, and Matson Belle, and it was at Stubb's.
In 2008 we all met up at the Beauty Bar. Good times were to be had, and Brandon was spilling drinks on peoples shoes. In attendance was Chloe Day, all the way from Los Angeles, Rage Ranger hometown heros, and of course Shuttle Debris was there as well.
This year, well just read the press release below. If you miss this one, you're not allowed to rent here anymore.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Annual Electronic Music Event descends on Austin once again.
Saturday, January 3
Austin, TX – Once again the minds behind local Austin electronica act “Shuttle Debris” get their friends together for the 3rd annual “Capricorn Chillout,” taking place again this year at the Beauty Bar (617 E 7th St).
For the third year in a row, local musicians Scott Kinnebrew and Brandon Hegar (a.k.a. Shuttle Debris) put together an event that brings an often forgotten music genre to the forefront of the Austin music scene. The Capricorn Chillout was designed to bring together musicians that are simply ignored in the live music community. "Just because we use synthesizers and computers doesn't mean there isn't anything happening on stage." says event co-founder Scott Kinnebrew. "Quite the contrary...it's like mission control up here when we perform."
Last year’s event brought music from all across the county, but this years focus is on the Great State of Texas and the musical gems that just might have flown under your radar. Be it the deep space influenced sounds of Austin's "Shuttle Debris," or the soothing trip-hop flavor of San Antonio's "The Green," current fans and those just learning about electronica are sure to find something to their liking.
"There are very few Texas electronica acts that anyone really knows about, and those that people do know about tend to make the actual music more of an afterthought," continues Kinnebrew,"There is a very tightly nit circle of acts in this state that really have something special going on musically, and that's what the Capricorn Chillout is all about."
This years line up consists of hometown boys “Shuttle Debris” and "Rage Ranger", Dallas' own "My Life on FIlm", and "The Green" via San Antonio.

Rage Ranger: www.myspace.com/rageranger
"Rage Ranger is Damon Jones, Marco Castaneda and Michael Miller. Using whatever equipment they could get their hands on, Rage Ranger have experimented with various sounds, programs, hardware, and line-ups. Adding Mike Miller on live guitar to the formerly all electronic lineup brings attention from music fans that are unfamiliar with the electronic music genre. Further experimentation with blending live and synthesized instruments creates an enticing mix of acoustic and artificial beats. Rage Ranger also collaborates with local singers from other Austin bands at their live performances with much success. They continue to work with Bill Davis (of Underwood fame), a local singer/songwriter who brings a distinctly Austin flavor to the vocals, and with Callie Shelton (of Alexander's Dark Band and various other local projects).
Rage Ranger has played with a variety of bands, fitting into lineups that include DJ's, Rock, Goth/Industrial, Experimental, and Punk bands and have played venues such as Stubb's BBQ, Emo’s Lounge, Club Deville, Beauty Bar, Beerland, Elysium, The Light Bar, The Scoot Inn, Red 7, The Orchid, Plush, Cavern Club (Dallas), and Limelight (San Antonio).

the Green was formed when the musical minds of producer/guitarist, Carlos Santiago and vocalist/pianist, Anne Noel, fused together in the summer of 2006 after the duo was introduced through a mutual friend. Since then, the Green sought to expand on the wide variety of eclectic ideas laid out by their amazing peers and deliver a unique style of music to an increasingly diverse audience in the USA, Europe, and to electronica lovers world wide.
