MALEKO

While the name Maleko may not conjure up immediate reminiscents of artists who are at the forefront of the game, he has been steadily putting in work on the independant stage for over a decade. Making a name in his hometown of Half Moon Bay , Ca. was the first step. Not realizing that 10 years later the small coastside community would become a developed tourist hot spot with many thriving scenes such as music, surfing, and Mixed Martial Arts. His second step was releasing 5 solo albums, 3 group projects , and countless appearances on various west coast underground releases. From that experience, Maleko gained fans from all over the globe through online music stores and shows. Viewing the last 12 years as "batting practice" he knows that the only way to really make it in the music business is to grow and find yourself as an artist. With his new self titled album dropping this summer , Maleko feels that this is his best work and is suitable to represent himself as a hip hop brand to the whole world. Proudly stating his number one rap influence as The Fresh Prince, Maleko writes songs that will make you laugh and relate. Hilarious performances like "M.I.L.F." a song about hot mothers and his own experience as a kid with a crush on his friend's mom. Unforgettable choruses like the hip hop / reggae crowd pleaser "Life's A Beach", an anthem to his beach town and Hawaiian fan base. His 14 song album may not appeal to the gangster rap followers or be lyrical enough to sway the back pack purists, but if you are one of those people who are tired of what is out there right now and desperately wants something new, Maleko is your hip hop hero! Overall, this collection of undeniably honest and creative music shows the widening of Maleko as an artist who we can expect big things from in the near future.
