Tomorrow national newspaper De Volkskrant will have an article on us, in the 'Kunst & Cultuur'-section. Also check the interview with Ro Halfhide by Musicfrom.nl here.
Tonight at 9.15 pm there's a small docu on the ASG, watch it on 3VOOR12 WebTV. Btw, at 7 pm there's a cute concert of our very own Lucky Fonz III at Vlieland, also on 3VOOR12 WebTV...

edit on Jan 15: changed the link to our TV docu, it should work now...

Following the success of several of our friends, like Lucky Fonz III and Leine, Dutch radiostation 3VOOR12 asked us to host a showcase at the Noorderslag festival. Noorderslag is where all the pop music industry meets to celebrate a new year of growing opportunities, or sales slumps - depending on who you talk to.
Everybody wants to play here and only a few are allowed. We were given the rare possibility to choose our own acts! We decided to cram as many artists as we could in half an hour, in a show that is going to surprise and put a smile on everyone's faces! Lucky Fonz III will do the talking, and who will do the singing?
In no particular order:
Halfhide, Reaganesk, Charles Frail, Lake Montgomery, Chinup, Amarins & Le Gatte Negre, The Woodwards and Leine (who won the GPvNL!)

The showcase will start at 1.45 in the 3VOOR12-hall. Noorderslag is already sold out so it's no use to ask yourself where the hell Noorderslag is being held... OK I'll tell you it's Groningen.

Danbert Nobacon is well known from his work with Chumbawamba. He has now finished a solo album, 'The Library Book of the World'.

Coming Saturday, Danbert will play in our home base Cafe Sappho. That's where we hold our Tuesday night open mic sessions. This is an intimate setting. Free entry, you later decide what you want to give for the concert.

Support act is Bettina Schelker, from Switzerland. More info on Bettina here.

Doors: 8 PM
Address: Vijzelstraat 103 in Amsterdam

We already organize the weekly sessions at Sappho and 'Skek, and now we can add a third weekly session for singer-songwriters to our list, at the Doelen Cafe. It starts this Sunday, with Emma Black opening up the session.

Some people in the know refer to it as Cafe Oorlam, because of the neon sign above the door. But that's actually an extinct gin brand...

Every Sunday evening starting at 8 PM, we'll have a featured artist - like in 'Skek - and from 9 PM onwards there's an open mic session. Except there are no mics. It's a completely acoustic session, there's no wifi and the landlady has no email address...
So if you want to play you have to contact the ASG... that's us.

Yes, Mia Silvas is becoming a household name in the Dutch songwriter scene. Bit Jazzy.

And of course everybody is awaiting eagerly the first show of Chinup - in the indierock version that is.
Not to mention Katbite and Lukas Batteau, delivered by my colleague of RnR...

Peter of The Woodwards has finished his album, and you can listen to all the songs here! Isn't that cool?
