......so, I did two of the biggest calabo's of my career last year. One with Raphael Saadiq at his studio in L.A.(we'll save the details of that for another blog) and one with Super Mc, Pharoahe Monch. I flew to New York specifically to get some quality shit out of the Pharoahe. One of my biggest pet peeves are callabo's that sound half ass.

I always had faith tho. Pharoahe and I had hooked up some month's b4 outside of a show I did in Manhattan. He told me he had some ideas and played me the breaks in his whip. The one that caught my attention was an idea he had for Eminem. It worked perfectly cause immediately I heard it as a Prequel to the joint that made him want to fuck with me in the first place "Nomad" and a sequel to Looking for Love (we'll save the details of that for another blog too). The song is called "Dear God".
Anyway, expecting to finish 1 maybe 2 joints. The sessions at the Cutting Room in Manhattan turned into like 5 beats and 3 full songs produced by Pharoahe Monch, written by King Reign. One of which Pharoahe blessed called "One More Time". We thought about getting serious on this joint but decided to have fun with it (loosely based off of true story's). The BET cameras came thru and if you listen close you can hear the camera man singing the hook with the rest of us.lol There will definitely be more callabo's like that in the future feat. The King and The Pharoahe! Some already planned, some still floating in the mental reservoir. Out of those sessions I got more than a dope joint. I got a new comrade, some new hip hop nerd knowledge ( did you know Extra P had something to do with producing T.R.O.Y.?), and further confirmation that Hip Hop can bring great minds together!
Peace to Pharoahe, Guy, Juli, Rocky, Jomba Juice, W.A.R. and Hip Hop!!

Reign

P.S. The first person to tell me which rap group and what movie I'm paying tribute to in the first part of my verse, where the rhyme routine came from at the end and who inspired the hook? Get's a free Renegade t-shirt courtesy of Guy Routte. lol
Look out for Pharoahe's new Welcome To The Terror Dome video. If I know Pharoah it'll be a classic!
