Michael Banel & Simon Heath have for some time now been working on
an album together. The result has so far shown to be very promising and
a bunch of interesting tracks in their own unique signature is already
written.
Its most likely to be released on CD in April or May 2009. The digital release will be set to one month after.
To define the style one must imagine a blend between progressive, techno
and trance with detailed groove structures and deep basslines in a
comfortable tempo range 120 - 130 bpm.
Clips will be online during feb. 09. on Michael Banel..s myspace.

More news about the release will follow from Iboga records, Michael Banel & Krusseldorf soon!

BBE & Krusseldorf already in 2008 released their first collaboration

Iboga Records / Sofa beats Presents the new album by Krusseldorf "Smokers Lounge".

Behind "Krusseldorf", we find the multi talented Swede - Simon Heath.

Simon, born in 1977, started producing when he early on played around with his Amiga and a microphone. In the years that have followed, Simon got involved in numerous projects and developed his knowledge and skills. During the process and through the years, he has been part of writing 10 albums and additionally many other tracks on compilations and other albums, released under various names, touching a broad range of ambient, dub, IDM and psy music. Simon has reached a very high level both in story telling and production technique, and the new album is full of brilliant music, written with passion and heart.

Iboga Records / Sofa Beats introduced Krusseldorf on the Floating Point 4 compilation from spring 2007 and releases a digital download EP with 2 more tracks at the end of this year.

So, dear friends, Who is it that plays under the Iboga flag as label DJ´s, besides label bosses Banel & Emok?

Read here and find out :)

Bio of Paulina Cewe / Sweden - Stockholm

Paulina Cewe is a dj and producer based in Stockholm, Sweden, that's mainly focused on tribal techno & deep progressive trance.

Introduced fairly late into the electronic genre, in the late 90's Paulina took a special interest in the progressive side of trance. Exploring this new sound fueled a passion for creating music that eventually paved the way for an album release in 2002, under the alias "gen.6". In relation to this a step was taken towards dj:ing which seemed like a natural progression of this journey. The following years sprouted gigs all over the world with appearances in clubs as well as major festivals in countries such as Finland, Belgium, Israel, Germany, Estonia, Portugal, Switzerland, England and Guatemala to name a few.

Meanwile the studio back in Stockholm kept expanding and new sounds and techniques were incorporated into her own productions and dj-sets. A number of tracks and remixes were released in different genres and labels and while exploring new styles it finally became apparent, that returning to her favourite tribal-progressive genre was the logical way to go. Developing a specific sound has been achieved by combining both dj:ing with studiowork, and these activities have complemented eachother well. The latest track "Exophilia", released on Iboga records, received great feedback and also gained support amongst dj's such as John 00 Fleming and Armada based Albert Vorne.

Currently the insatiable appetite for grinding beats and piercing basslines still is the driving force in her dj-sets. Not fearing to cross genres, the common denominator has always been finding those explicit tracks that not only will be appreciated but also memorable and non-generic. The interaction with the crowd is of decisive importance and in being able to tame and entwine the flows on the dancefloor with carefully selected tracks, she creates an atmosphere of her own.

Expect nothing less than true passion and a devoted performance from this redheaded Viking..

Bio of Osiris Indriya / USA - Seattle

As a DJ, Osiris Indriya's proficiency has allowed him to play in a wide range of settings including the Club Scene, House Music Events, Trance Parties and Workshops. Osiris has been featured with underground artists such as Brian, Brad, and Trevor of L.A. Moontribe, Manoj of Uplift in Portland, OR, trance goddess Phoenix Olivia in Vancouver B.C., and Lorin (bassnectar) from Santa Cruz/SF, CA. He has opened several times for KJ, the psytrance icon from SF, ambient producer Adham Shaikh from B.C, DJ Banel, Antix and Beat Bizarre from Iboga Records of Denmark, SunControlSpecies from Zenon Records and Nick Taylor of Australia. Osiris holds residence at Contour in Seattle, WA while playing various events and clubs including Shambhala Music Fesival and Marcus' Martini Heaven, where he held a residence between 2002 and 2004. He has enjoyed playing at various forest, desert, beach, and indoor gatherings, club nights, and festivals up and down the west coast, as well as internationally including the Double 6 in Kuta, Bali.

Driven to take Seattle to the next level, Osiris has been deep into creating several projects. He has teamed up with Infinite Connections to bring the best of Europe's tribal progressive trance music and world class art to the Pacific Northwest in a series of events called IOSIS Art Parties. As co-founder of the Oracle Gatherings, he is bringing a new paradigm in a growing dance community by integrating with the Northwest's mythical undercurrent. His collection of sounds expands many genres blurring the lines between Progressive, Techno, House, Breaks and Trance with Tribal Rhythms while his original compositions mix elements of space into the places between genres. All this has helped inspire the release of his all original progressive and downtempo CD, "Reach Within".

Osiris is also a visual artist. His art displays aspects of the journey of the seeker finding the truth of his being. The rich and simple symbolism and the faceless human forms invite the viewer into this experience in the mediums of digital on canvas, acrylic on wood, watercolor on paper and pastels on paper.

Amidst all the projects, being a DJ and producing original music and art combined with his spiritual studies continue to be Osiris' focus.

Bio of Glen Clarke / UK / Sweden – Gothenburg

Glen started to play records and spin them on some old decks at a very young age of 14 back in 1993. He started by playing early breakbeat/hardcore and swiftly moving forward in the direction of techno/acid until finding Goa Trance a couple of years later at the now legendary Return to the Source parties in London. Around this time he joined up with two other aspiring DJ's that he'd met at college and had become great friends with. Together they formed the local party group 'Psyquarius', free parties around their local town (which is 1 hour from London) for friends and travellers.

Around this time (1996), while playing alongside Chris Organic, Glen was spotted by Matt (founder of Omnipotent Eye party org). He asked Glen to play at the legendary Tyssen Street Studios where he became the resident 'Skybabies' DJ, hosting label nights with Dragonfly, Twisted, Aurinko, Resonoise and the now defunct Symbiosis Records to crowds of 1000+. Glen now lived and worked in London.

About 3 years later after playing at all sorts of parties, from small private nights to massive warehouses or open air gigs, UK and overseas, Glen joined the London based trance label, Resonoise Records as part of the DJ/A&R team. Over this time his style had matured from Goa/Psy to a progressive psychedelic sound. But where after a couple of years his various residencies in London continued sadly the record label did not.

Between 2002 and 2005 his style merged the groovy psy - sounds of progressive trance, such as that coming out of Sweden and Denmark, with the tribal sounds of house. His current direction is to merge and blur the lines between house and trance. His journeys through music and country have had him play alongside some of the top psychedelic and progressive artists, from Slide (Coburn) to Son Kite, Koxbox to Tim Schudlt, Green Nuns, Jaia, Liquid Soul, Behind Blue Eyes, Phony Orphants and Igneous Sauria to name a few. From DJ's like James Monroe, Dino, Paps, Anti, Emok, Richard K, Pied Piper, Peter Dijital, Banel, Sally Doolally, Nadi, Bakke, Dick Trevor, Franke, Pena, Noma, Greg Coyle etc, etc and so on.

Now Glen is also part of the DJ team of Denmark's Iboga Records. As well as DJ, he will promote the sound and ideas of the label, and help to work with other labels to source out the Iboga sound. Also now living in Gothenburg, you can catch him playing around Sweden and Europe's progressive hot spots.

Bio of Pr0fane / Denmark – Ry - Jutland

24 year old Jannick Andersen from Denmark is one of the rising DJ-talents of the progressive scene where he, known under the name pr0fane, is starting to get noticed nationally as well as internationally.

His love for electronic music started with pioneers like Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and 80's synth-pop acts like Talk Talk, Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys, followed up by the early releases from acts like The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers. In 1997 he discovered psychedelic trance, and since then he's been a loyal follower of this scene, though in later years his taste has developed more and more towards progressive sounds.

He is very dedicated to the craft of DJ'ing, and has been DJ'ing seriously since the beginning of the millennium, with his career really taking off in the last couple of years, resulting in bookings all over Denmark at various indoor and outdoor locations. Apart from playing at some of the best clubs and venues all over Denmark, plus in countries like England and Germany, he has also played at some well-known festivals around Europe, such as Soulclipse (Turkey), in:deep:an:dance (Germany), Naked (Germany), Middle Earth (Denmark) and SEMF (Denmark).

His taste is quite broad, which enables him to play very varied sets, depending on the different factors of the party like crowd, location and time of day - from storming full on psychedelic party music over progressive trance and progressive house, electro house, tech house to delicious ambient and chillout-sessions. In the last couple of years his primary focus has been on the uplifting side of the progressive spectrum though - mostly with uplifting sound-textures and melodic structures without getting cheesy, and with a strong sense of solid and dance friendly grooves, suitable for the magic morning or daytime hours. Always with a mix of cutting-edge new sounds and a few memorable old gems here and there, maintaining an interesting flow - and of course with the technical skills to back it up.

Bio of Dovla / Croatia - Zagreb

I started listening to electronic music around 1998 and started going to parties around 2000. After a couple of years of listening to techno I discovered psytrance and it took me by storm.

After exploring Croatia's small trance party scene and going to different festivals abroad I found myself starting to DJ chill out music since I like to experiment more and chill out has always given me that ability.

During the years I changed my style from the more ethno style to IDM ambient with lots of clicks and glitches. I like my music to be danceable yet still very atmospheric and relaxing.

One of my biggest projects was the trancepleme.com website, as the designer and one of the founders of the site I tried to promote the trance scene in Croatia and make it bigger. As well as writing reviews and articles for the site I started working with the rest of Croatia's trance party organizers and so we started the Underwater Overground festival.

Although the festival has never had many people it did bring a lot of familiar names from the full on and progressive trance scene and it maintained a true underground vibe which most of our artists loved.

We also started a lounge bar party serial called Chilli Bar which kept us in one place for more than a year playing every week.

So far I played at many smaller parties and lounge bars in Croatia and all of the Underwater Overground festivals, Solar Tribe festival 2003 and Ozora 2005.

I do have a desire to start playing trance music as well but chill out is still keeping me pretty occupied with exploring other labels beyond the trance scene such as Ninja Tune, True Thoughts, Morr, Planet Mu and Warp.

I also recently started writing music reviews for a small cultural fanzine called 04. Apart from my DJing I'm currently at college studying graphic and web design.

Style (s): Chill out, IDM, Jazzy Trip Hop.
