Attention All Brigheads!!!
July 16th is Brig's birthday, and we want to stage a collective effort to wish her a very happy birthday.  All members of the Brig Feltus Fan Club are asked to send in photos holding hand written signs with a personal birthday wish, "Happy Birthday Brig!", "I heart Brig", "Brigheads Forever!!", etc... OR original handmade art inspired by Brig.  Please get these sent to us here by July 15 as we plan to bomb her comments section on her birthday with as many of these images as possible.   The easiest way to participate is to upload your image to your myspace photo album then tag the fan club profile in the album.  If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

What's up fellow Brigheads?
We hope you're all enjoying the transition into summer. As Brig begins to get back on the move now, we need to organize and get active.
We are looking for volunteers to sort of head up different chapters of the club. You would be responsible for coming up with ideas for activities, getting to know other members from your local area, and help to plan things like listening parties, meet and greets, etc...
Write us here if you are interested. We need your participation. It's time to rise up and make a difference in this incredible woman's career.
Goings On for June.... IT'S ALL ABOUT THE NYC
Brig is invading New York City this month for the 2008 URB Alt Festival. We spoke to her recently about this show and she's very excited to be a part of it. If you are not familiar with it, watch the video trailer below and then, as Brig says, if you're within 200 miles of NYC you have to be there!!

She hits the stage of Brooklyn Academy of Music on June 27th.

However, she's going to be in NYC already from the 23rd. She is not only excited about the show.

Brig says she's very much excited to be able to meet some of the BFFC members from that part of the country. She's offering a special offer to the first 10 BFFC members who confirm they are going to be at the show, and actually show up. Check out our blog for instructions on how to confirm, and show up for the show to receive your free BFFC tee and an autographed cd.

She's also looking forward to the exclusive BFFC Meet and Greet where all Brig Feltus Fan Club members are welcome to join together with Brig for a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to visit the James Van Der Zee exhibit (see Brig's blog section for a brief bio and samples of photos by this Harlem Renaissance Photographer). Watch for the details of that trip as we get closer. It is tentatively scheduled to happen on Saturday morning the 28th. But pencil that in because the date may change if Brig's schedule doesn't jibe with that date. We will keep you posted.

If you are not able to make the Museum trip, there will be the option to join Brig for lunch one day during the time she is there, her treat. This invitation will be extended exclusively to BFFC members only who show up with a pre-purchased Love and Light cd. So if you wanna join her for lunch, and you don't have yours yet....what kind of Brighead would you be claiming to be!!??? Watch her website calendar and our blog for details. This will be by BFFC invite and rsvp only. So stay connected for more info!





This Just In...(6/11 7pm)
Brig just informed me that she's made arrangements available for those of you who are coming in to NYC for the show from out of town, at a beautiful historic Harlem Mansion that is elegant, and fully appointed with footed tubs and all the beauty of the 1920's era. Rooms with private baths with either queen or king beds for around $175/night. You cannot beat this price in New York City. So if you are interested let us know and we'll put you in touch with the right people.

I'm hearing from Brig that she will give away tees and cd's to the first 10 NYC fanclub members to RSVP for the Urb Alt NYC '08 show at BAM. 
It's not gonna be complicated.  You only have to register here on this blog that you'll be there.  The tee and cd will be given to the first 10 fanclub members to do so AND to actually be at the show.   The gifts will be given out at the show and your name must be on the list we will be giving her prior to her flying to NYC.  That means you have between now and around the 20th of June, (except, again, it's only the first 10 people to rsvp who will get it.)
If I were you, I would check my calendar now and mark it out. 
I'm hearing the show is also a free show, so if you're smart, you'll be getting a free tee, a free cd, and a free show!     You cannot beat this deal. 
So get on this special list right away!

brig did a really inspiring interview on blog talk radio last night.  you can have a listen to it in her blog section.  
we really enjoyed it.  i know that you all will too.  
we're looking for some folks to help come up with fan club activities.  so if you have any ideas of things we can do to make this a fun club to be a part of, let us know.  

new york brigheads will be glad to hear that she's coming in june!!!   we talked to her about it in the interview we did (see our blog section) last week.  she's so excited and hopes to meet as many of you as possible.  there are plans for a meet and greet with fan club members while she's there.  sounds like fun.  if you are in new york and you are interested in helping to plan that meet and greet let us know.  we thought dinner at a nice restaurant in harlem or brunch in a private home hosted by us as a potluck... if you have ideas let us know.  

there's a rumor now(but you didn't hear it from me) that she's also going to be in florida performing in the summertime.  we will keep you posted as brig updates us of her plans.
