Product Description English:
From time immemorial New York City's Broadway has been loved, honored, appreciated...criticized, pronounced dead and avoided. Reasons for those diverse levels of meaning ground in the changes of the Stage and the City itself in the course of time. The author Katja Moritz shows off political, sociocultural and financial backgrounds, whereby unfailingly new arts districts, cultural movements and theatrical shapes are created in New York City. Based on the historical urban development, she gives an insight into the dynamic theater-life of Broadway, Off Broadway and Off-Off Broadway and describes changes, differences and similarities. Because of her stays in New York City, the author is proficient to uniquely and versatilely illustrate the Stage of New York. The book is highly recommended for all people who are interested in theater and arts, for New York-Lovers and Adepts and anybody who wants to plunge into that extraordinary and artistic world of the city that never sleeps.

Not Jimmy Hendrix, not Jesus Christ, not Grandma, neither Jackson Pollock, although he may already head us to the right direction...still those guys are another performance, another essay.
It’s Patti Smith who enters this stage.
Yep, she is on Tour, yep, she graced Vienna with her presence. For the full of two intense hours, Patrica Lee Smith made it possible to transfer the beautiful Arsenal of Vienna’s Arena into some sort of back-to-the-CBGB’s-days and gave the audience the much-needed Dose of Ecstasy. Presenting her life through her songs, and spreading the ‘Power of the People’, while ripping off the strings of her guitar. She’s making the audience relive the late 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and welcomes everybody back to the present with her new album ‘Twelve’. Patti Smith by herself started in New York City as a poet and actress in the Off-Off-Broadway scene, before she came to Rock’n’Roll and developed into an iconic figure of the CBGB’s or the Williamsburg Music Hall. In between she experienced many moments of love, loss and desperation, would live and sleep on the streets of NYC. Not to stir to much in the past, but those moments are still building up the canvass that she and her music are made off. The sky is changing its color to purple when it comes to ‘Because the Night’ and ‘Gloria’ and the audience seems to be in some sort of psychedelic MeditationBadassRock’n’Roll-Shape…and left behind with the message and spirit of this one charming artist P.L.S., as she goes off the stage.

Monday, August 06, 2007

So for all of those who keep me asking and asking about pictures and blogs of NYC – here we go!

Yeah I made it alive to the City, after a long long trip – finally getting Home to Brooklyn and …. crashing to bed! Arrived at about 10pm Monday 30th July @ JFK, after being above the clouds for 10 hours, being 5 hours delayed and 6 hours former!???

It was like expert diverse feelings at the same time – being exhausted and bitchy, being excited and hopeful and having the feeling to do the RIGHT thing at the RIGHT time! Feeling the vibrant energy of that sort of destination I was about to reach and STILL do!

Staying here for a while, may it be a good summer....!
