Doing my best to use technology to stay connected with da kids, innit. The strange and beautiful figure of a man named Aqualung gives the stoney circus some tips.

Here's me in my cave in Austin.

What you see is some of what I did yesterday afternoon sped up.
What you hear is some what I did yesterday afternoon not sped up.

Just in case you were worried that I wasn't working!
It's coming.... soon!

Following the above new years day business meeting with one of my most trusted advisors, the hard working team at Stoney H.Q (aka me & my sock monkey) are proud to present some wonderful new gizmos for your fingertips and lugholes:

Sorry if this is flogging a dead horse, but if anyone (particularly outside the UK) is still trying to get hold of the last 2 albums, there is good news!

At my Swanky new digital music page, you can high speed download the last two albums straight into your iTunes in almost any file type you want for any price you want. In addition, there you can read my own analysis & thought process of each track if you really have time to kill. I would love to get your thoughts on the new system, so give it a whirl & please let me know what you think. Please also feel free to share it with anyone you think might like it!

And for those who prefer the substance of the atom over the phantasmal bit, I'm pleased to announce The Scene & the Unseen CD is now finally available for reasonable purchase in the US (& internationally) via CD Baby, so no more bad exchange rates & postage costs! They've just received their first shipment, and put it on their recommended picks page, so it's ready to go. The first batch are signed copies, so hit the "CD Baby" link below to grab one. My first ever record "Amber" will  be available there in the next couple of weeks.

Right, onwards & upwards.

Gimme an 0, Gimme a 9!

STONEY: The Scene & The Unseen

Saturday, January 03, 2009
It's been way too long since I posted here. Happy new year one and all!

There's lots to catch up on. I've spent most of 08 moving between Austin, London & Sheffield. My video postings came to a bit of a halt on account of the fact that in Sheffield my house was broken into & my camera nicked. Wasn't all bad tho, they missed my rent money in the bottom of my whiskey bottle. Suckers.
The big news for me is that I've decided to settle in Austin for the foreseeable future and I've just enjoyed my first sunny christmas ever. The US government granted me an O1 visa which catergorizes me as an "Alien of extraordinary ability". I'm very fond of my new title. It's the first time in nearly 3 years that I'll actually be in one place for longer than 3 months. I bought a rug to celebrate.

On the music front there's been lots going on behind the scenes over the last year and I'll be making lots of releases & playing live lots this year. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to do it in the current uncertain climate, and it's doing my head in a bit. I'll post up a few ideas in the next few days and would love your opinions.

Happy 09 y'all. x

Midnight, New Years eve. Just me, my glock, my memories and my hopes for the new year. Please don't feel pity, it's just how I wanted it.

How do.

A quick little note to let you know I'll be joining my good friend Neil McSweeney on stage at the Grapes, Trippet Lane, Sheffield this Sunday 14th Sept. If you're not familiar with this mans wonderful music, then you should get aquainted with it at www.myspace.com/neilmcsweeney.

I think we're on about 8.45pmish. it'll cost somewhere between 3-5 quid I reckon... Sorry I'm not more specific- I don't have all the details. Why not  pop down and have a pint & say hi!

During my last UK tour at the end of last year, some folks in Sheffield shot a wee little film of me rambling on about some things while half asleep. It's currently on rotation on Current TV (channel 193 on ya UK freeview, not sure what the US channel is)

Alternatively, you can just watch it below!

P.S- back in the UK for a while. The cold is like the return of a long lost friend.

Boo!

I'm back from recording in the US for a whistlestop jaunt round my beloved Blighty.. You'll be glad to see I brought the sunshine with me (smuggled up my arse).

One of the things I'll be doing whilst here is joining the wonderful KAROSHI BROS (www.myspace/karoshibros) on stage tomorrow night (Sat 10th) in London to sing a choon. They're a fantastic electronica act I've done a vocal for on their forthcoming album.

The first show will be at Proud Galleries in Camden, 8.30 pm with "Punks Jump up" and then we will be heading off at around midnight for a late night secret loft party where we'll do it again... Visit their myspace page for details of how you can be a part of that.

Hope to see you there!
