We just wanted to thank all of our fans/friends who who came out to see us at the Mushroomhead Halloween show Friday night... as well as all the unsuspecting show goers who had never even heard of us before who really seemed to like what they heard.

All of your support is appreciated and we will never for one second take all you guys and gals for granted. all bands say it but we mean it 100% when we say we're nothing without you all.

Thank you all for your never ending support, and thank you to all our new fans/friends we make everyday.

We've got a bunch of plans, which include some new music in the very near future to tide you all over till we can finally get our CD out.

Take care and please keep spreading the word.

Thank you all

I’m sitting here trying to figure out how to say this and I don’t know how. Our former vocalist Kent Young passed away this morning at the age of 28 due to respiratory problems. He was a father, a great performer and most of all a friend. The last thing I ever thought I’d be doing is writing something like this.

It’s hard to describe how I feel. Sorrow, guilt, anger. I would give anything to be able to tell my friend how much I value his friendship at least one more time. I’m angry at myself that the last conversation we had was about him stepping down from the band. It wasn’t a heated argument or anything, but it wasn’t fun either.

So with tears in my eyes the only thing else I know to say is that my, as well as the rest of the band’s hearts are with his family and those closest to him.

Kent... You will always be our friend and brother. We’ll meet again someday.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LaMafia Management - 3/26/08

While waiting for the go-ahead to begin recording their full length CD, Cleveland, Ohio’s YEARS OF FIRE have decided to go into the studio with producer Cole Martinez and record a couple songs to tide their fans over. "We’ve had some downtime and we know everyone is aching for new material" says Hager. "We also wanted to show everyone that things aren’t at a standstill and that we are moving forward. With all the challenges we’ve faced over the past 8 months, we are coming out on top and stronger then ever. We are finally one solid unit." Hager also explains.

The new material showcases the newfound aggression, refueled attitude and the new line-up, including the newest member, vocalist Kris Heming. "Things just weren’t working out with Kent. We love him to death as a brother but he just wasn’t able to be a 100% active part and that’s what we need" says Hager. "We knew Kris from playing shows with his former band and it was all just a matter of ’the right place at the right time.’ He just kinda fell into our lap, so to say, and it has been smooth sailing ever since."

The first installment of new tracks being posted is "Dignified Self Possession." "We have a bunch of unreleased material written over the past 8 months but we decided on this one because it’s the first song that we have written together as a full band" says Hager. "We wanted to show the fans that we do have new material- we don’t want to just rehash old songs like we did when Kent joined."

Be sure to check out "Dignified Self Possession" and be on the look out for another song from their forthcoming album within the next few weeks.

YEARS OF FIRE have overcome many obstacles over the past couple years and have now found all the right members to take it to the next level. This is 100% American made HEAVY METAL!

I just wanted to say a few things about all the changes within Years Of Fire. I tried to think of all kinds of different ways to say it but I figure why beat around the bush and just get straight to the point.

I started this band a few years ago and from the very first practice till this moment I’m typing this, my goal has been to push this to it’s highest potential and it’s nowhere near that. In a perfect world everyone there from day one would be there till the very end but unfortunately that’s not always possible.

Everyone who has parted ways with the band has done it on the best of terms. there’s no underlying behind the scenes drama like drug rehab, fist fights, etc. Everyone just wanted different things, none of which were bad... just different. WE value everything that everyone contributed to this band to help shape it into what it is today.

Most of you know that Cole and Brian left to pursue a more melodic sound with their band Antenora... if you haven’t heard em yet i suggest you check em out. We wish them the best of luck with it and I’m confident that they will go far.

Within the past month we were hit with the sudden blow of losing Kent. He’s a great vocalist, a great frontman and most of all a great friend. It was not easy to part ways but with all the things we need to do in a short amount of time it would have been impossible to go on with him in the band. It was hard for him to be as involved as we needed him to be living so far away and the decision for him to step down was mutual on both sides. I’m sure he’ll be back with a new band soon and I’m sure it will be succesfull.

With all that’s happened over the past 8 to 9 months it came down to two options. We could either throw in the towel and call it quits, or dust ourselves off and get on the god damn ball and pull it together. Even though for a brief moment the end of this band was a real possibillity we chose to not be beaten and push on... and from that moment on the whole attitude has been great. We’ve found all the missing pieces and we are finally "whole".

I haven’t been this excited and determined since my days in Chimaira. This band is finally 5 guys working as one solid machine and we’re not going to let anyone get in our way or slow us down. I’m proud to be in a band with the 4 guys I share this with.

We are determined to kick the metal scene right in the fuckin’ nuts and show the world it’s not about tight pants, eyeliner or this new breed of nerds playing grindcore.

We’re back and we’re gonna destroy anything that get’s in our way! Thank you all for supporting us along the way and I hope you all stay for the ride.

Thank you.

Ok folks... We're still waiting to get the word to go record the CD... I know you guys/gals have been waiting patiently and no one wants the CD out more then us... believe me.

But until that happens we've got something planned for you all. We've decided to take it upon ourselves to go in and record a couple songs until the CD is out to tide you all over. We're funding this ourselves because we feel it's important to get some new songs to you all instead of having to listen to the same 2 songs that have been up for a year and a half.

The band is stronger then ever and we want you to hear it for yourselves. So next weekend we're going in with Cole Martinez to begin tracking 2 more songs... one of which we just wrote last week. So within in a couple weeks you guys/gals will have some new Years Of Fire... Including the recently recorded "Myopic Existence"... so that'll be 3 songs for you.

So sit tight and before ya know it the songs will be up... and if you haven't downloaded "In The Eyes Of God" or "Reign Of Freyja" yet, do so now cuz once we put up the new songs, those ones are coing down.

Ok... There's been a lot of question and assumption about what In The Eyes Of God is about. It is NOT an anti-religion song. We are by no means a christian band nor do we condemn others for their beliefs... to each their own.

In The Eyes of God only uses the word symbolically. It is about having grown up my entire life, from the time I was 5 to even now my step-dad deeming everything i do as worthless and not good enough. It was his way or no way, because in his eyes everything he did was perfect. So the word God is pertaining to my step-dad cuz it's kinda how he saw himself.

Hope this answers your questions and hopefully some of you can relate... not just to an asshole step-dad, but never feeling like you were good enough for someone in general.

Our goal isn't to bitch and whine like a bunch of emo fruits... just hopefully connect with people who may have or are going through some of the things we've been through in life and see that if we came out on top, so can you.

thanks.

Hey there folks just wanted to drop you all a line and give you a little heads up. Still waiting on the "go ahead" to go in and begin recording the album so just sit tight and as soon as we get the word we'll let you all know.

However... There are a few things going on within YoF that we'll fill you all in on shortly. We've been very hard at work here and are extremely excited for the future of the band. We are also planning on hitting the stage again here very soon so sit tight with that as well. Believe me when I say we're doing everything possible to make this long wait worth it.

Until we get the word to record the album... we are making plans to go into the studio within the next few weeks to get a couple songs recorded to tide you all over till the record hits stores... along with "Myopic Existence" that we just recently recorded.

We are also going to be launching a street team and fan club of sorts here as well... it's in the works and will be launched within the coming weeks as well.

So hang tight and keep your eyes and ears peeled because we've got a lot coming up here very soon.

We love all your comments... and we have no problem at all letting people promote in our comments. However there are some things we WILL NOT accept.

1 - We will not accept video comments or anything that has sound to it... not only does it distract from our music, which is why bands make myspace profiles, but they're also just really annoying when you hear random things playing at the same time and you gotta race around finding where it's coming from to shut them off.

2- If you post a comment that is a mile long we won't accept it either... if someone has to scroll a mile down the screen to see the next comment cuz you posted an entire tour schedule or a million banners it becomes rediculous.

3- And finally... we won't accept any comments that blow our layout out of whack... what's the use in going through the trouble of doing up your profile if a comment blows it all out of whack.

So there you have it... three simple rules to posting comments on our page... pretty fair I think.... it's better than dissabling the html and ruining it for everyone.

Thanks.
