In dance music circles, DJ UNIQUES name conjures a Legendary reference and fond memories of unforgettable gigs at destinations around the UK and Abroad. Yes, you really do love a challenge don't you? *smiles proudly...

What a fucking blinder :D

My benchmark for your skill on the sliding scale has just increased and you have set a new standard for yourself. This is great news for me and everyone else and bad news for you, because I think you're going to set yet another new standard in the 3rd and it's going to take even more blood and sweat. But let's not dwell too much on the next chapter just yet.

The mixing, as always, is completely seamless; I don't think this is ever going to be an issue. But what's important this time about the mixing, is that now we are starting to see EXTREMELY well complimented contexts of transition from track to track fitting into the overall framework.

Make no mistake, this is by far the best mix that I've heard from you mate.

Here's the breakdown:

Track 01 - Even better opening than the last version. The 'dream synth chords' of the track set a very warm and fuzzy atmospheric opening. Instead of the overall feeling of your opening being just smooth and introductory, it is now dreamy; which, I think is perhaps the best way for all you mixes to start.

Track 02 - The mellow tribal elements transition beautifully into this track. Continuity is flawless.

Track 03 - We continue to GLIDE seamlessly, effortlessly and so very comfortably carrying the listener.

Track 04 - The rolling pace begins in this track. Continuity is flawless.

Track 05 - Very nice length overlap here - flawless build up to this track.

Track 06 - Another beautiful mix here. We start to get deeper now. Very well placed at the half way marker.

Track 07 - The beats start to slap taking us deeper. The listener is in full awareness of what 'progression' means. Leads nicely into "now we're avin some".

Track 08 - Yeat again, lovely transition. This is lovely placement for the dirty bass and dirty synths come in.

Track 09 - We're now into some hard rolling "well avin it". This is a lovely track; uplifting whilst gracefully hard and dirty. This is a beautiful 2/3 the way thru pick up.

Track 10 - You simply manage to sweep them off their feet and FLY due to the consistent and defined build up to this track.

Track 11 - Good choice. Dark and tech elements, being the hardest track and of course this is the logical placement for it.. making for an excellent close to the mix.

DJ UNIQUE - THE FUTURE - VOLUME 1
comment by leading industry figure>Steve, this is seriously good stuff man.. I may as well have picked this up from the shelf at HMV and I would not have known it to be unpublished by non-international brand name.

The tracks are very very well selected, sequenced and gelled in this mix. It seduces me sooo effortlessly and comfortably. It then begins to, as any worthy mix should, give real meaning and purpose to the word "progression".

The very tasteful and timed quarter way breakdown and recontruction serves beautifully (while the american guy is yapping). And then you place another one (which can be risky) with the introduction of the track with the accoustic riff; it comes off well.

We then continute to glide until we're into the just-past-half-way-lets-get-deeper-into-it technique which is nicely in place and play also here.

The chopping beats are nicely placed two thirds the way in giving a nice variation for musical palette before proceeding to the slap-it-on-and-lets-ave-it phase of the mix.

What is also very much appreciated here is that the mix does not start to loose itself in the later tracks towards conclusion, which is a classic all time DJ faux pas but one that is consistently done out of lack of self discipline to see quality ALL the way through.

The beat work is seamless. The flow is both colourful and flawless.Sol!
