This new Tony Records release brings the current wave of soulful electro full circle. It is the tenth release on the label produced by its associate helmsman, Jacko a/k/a Giacomo Berarducci. This is his first production with partner Tony Loreto and together they've created a funky peak hour pair of goodies. "Doo" kicks off the EP with its rubbery bassline, keys, jerky rhythm and sustained strings that provide the male chant, "doo-doo-doo" a comfortable bed to bounce on. The meat of the track contains a lengthy piano solo by Antonio Di Mauro driving the point home. Full of drops and fills that build the energy then releases it ferociously.

"Anthem" is exactly what the title suggests. It is another 2am "jump off" (musically that is!) jam. The deep bass & dense kick supports the 80's styled Chicago "jackin" snares, the persistent hi hat and intermittent piano strikes meshing well with the watery bleep sounding keys and string stabs. The melody of the bass gets redirected as the twinkling keys create a sense of tension for the samba-ish breakdown. Nimble-fingered, Antonio Di Mauro is at work again, producing a sound reminiscent of Patrick Adams styled keyboards from his legendary Phreek LP. Ends Cold.

Crystal Re-Clear is back! The duo who brought you such dance hits as Djaimin's, "Give You" on Strictly Rhythm and Yellorange's, "Say It" and "Live Your Life" (co-written by Fred) as Crystal Clear expands here with "I'm Dancing".

Timmy Vegas has masterfully remixed Crystal Re-Clear's, "I'm Dancing" into a fresh, new musical montage of retro dance music elements.  Without compromising the current fascination with 80's electro sounds, this mix harkens to a time when melodies and bridges mattered.  The blend of acoustic and electronic instruments, the straight four-to-the-floor kick, beautiful pianos and grand piano stabs, live drum rolls, the hint of cowbells faintly ringing over the angelic vocals of Alessandra. The dramatic orchestrated build up and release is spectacular.  It's a crossover/effects box dream!  The saccharine operatic string break is inventive as "Al" lets loose on the comeback.   The George Duke inspired jazzy piano break is crazy which goes into a funky latin piano melody that is absolutely incredible. With "I'm Dancing", Vegas demonstrates his unique musicianship by intelligently using the space in the production injecting a host of quality sounds, tones & textures.   A soulful pop dance music cheerfest!   Crystal Re-Clear Remix and Timmy Vegas Dub included.

If the 60's soul pop sound of Motown were to go sort of tech House, the Yannick B Full Crobar Mix would be it.  The standard house kick, synths for days underneath sustained string keys all amped up and ready to go.  This mix is perfect for the DJ programming a more aggressive dance sound.

Tony Records is bringing the fire with this scorching summertime tune: "Tonight", written and produced by Bernard Badie and vocal powerhouse Dajae. She leads this track in pure Dajae fashion! The Original mix is just one of those hot, sweaty, soul drippin' funky grooves! A pure House sound when House was House. The bassline hook is an instantaneous floor grabber.
 
The B-Side features a brand new mix from David "Vibes" Tobon of Redirekted Music. He has enlisted the talents of the fast-rising and newly sought after keyboard wizard, Jerrell Battle to create this highly charged soulful electro mix. The first 5 1/2 minutes features a rub-a-dub kick, 80's inspired synths, several twanging basslines, a nice marriage of acoustic & electronic keyboard sounds, with a jazzy wheezing organ arranged perfectly under Dajae's vocal prowess. The latter part of the mix gets more intense with keyboard solos and vocal effects reminiscent of "Brighter Days" and a wicked rock guitar that is crazy! The DJ friendly ending makes for an easy blend. The Git Down Tonight Dub mix is included.

Masterclass #02 sees this philosophy develop as Tony Humphries – a globally-recognised House heavyweight - takes you on a journey from packed club dancefloor to early-hours afterparty.

Through his own Tony Records label, and earlier through his hugely successful Yellorange imprint, Tony Humphries has been an influential and larger-than-life figure on the international house music scene for over 20 years.

As well as mixing compilations for Southport Weekender, Fabric, Strictly Rhythm and Tribal UK, Tony has released a stream of successful remixes on labels including Atlantic, Columbia and Azuli. He is widely regarded as one of the most consistent and innovative DJ-Producers in the world, as projects for the likes of Mass Order, Chaka Khan, Deee-Lite, the Sugarcubes and Janet Jackson have demonstrated.

Tony brings a wealth of experience to this second Masterclass release, letting his eclectic musical tastes shine through both on a no-holds-barred club mix featuring tracks by Joey Negro, Kerri Chandler, Ann Nesby and Todd Terry, and then on a more adventurous after-party mix.
