SILVER IN BARCELONA BLOG BY: HERMAN JIMENEZ
BARCELONA BLOG 1- Espana here we are! This is my first time out to barcy, and that flight just sucked the life out of me. Getting into the city did feel like a good thing though. We are staying at the coolest spot and everyone is definitely hyped on it. The dudes all soaked in the place, and then hit the streets. Hoops and I went around with Local owner of NEWAY Skateshop and Crown Wood. This dude's shop is no joke, dude is handling business. Then we went back to Fernando's place and he showed us his ill spot, and his dj skills. Later that night got crazy back at the house, chess session began and the night didn't end till 6am. We were so thrown off because of the time zone, we were all trying to catch up.
BARCELONA BLOG 2- Espana Barcelona Dia Numero Dos! Day two out here in barcy and today started off the real skating on the trip. We got up and went to go eat breakfast down the street, it's so interesting to see lambs leg hanging on the ceiling while you're eating... good 'ol european culture for you. After that we hit the streets at MACBA, where all the legendary ledges are, we warmed up there for a bit. Then we hit the manual pad down the way and Paul was killing it. Peep that Silver Vid when it comes out to see how many tricks he did on that thing. Then Paul, Jereme, Hoops, and I went out to the market ledge spot and these dudes pulled out the bangers. So far day one was pretty good, and if the rest of the trip is like this... it's definitely going to be a good one. The day ended with some dude juggling like 10 balls at once and bouncing them all crazy. It was freaking intense!
BARCELONA BLOG 3- the metro Today we actually ventured out from the city and hit the metro. Nyjah, Danny, and the rest of us hit some of the legendary street spots. The first time for me on the metro, and it was quite a workout with my camera bag. I think I'm just not used to the lifestyle out here. What can I say I'm an American, too used to driving everywhere. I definitely like the local scene, walking and taking the train all over. It's a good way to see all of the city, and take it all in for its interesting architecture and people. Today was a good day for skating, the weather was great and Danny C. is pretty much the tour guide of the trip. He is doing a good job taking us to the good spots. Peep the photos in the barcy photo album.
BARCELONA BLOG 4- Butter Ledges and Lines We have been waking up pretty late. We haven't adjusted to the time difference, which is only hurting our skate missions because we get out too late. The missions have still been good for the games though, getting mad lines at this new butter ledge spot. The guys hung out there for a while, yet Paul and Jereme headed out to some other spots with hoops. Danny and Nyjah had a good session and got some lines there. Then we traveled on the train to the other spot that Paul and Jereme were at. We watched Nyjah hammer out another sick line, and so did Jereme. Another day of good skating and roaming the streets. Today was a little intense though, I guess the city had a little festival and tons of people were out in the streets. Other than that, another good day for the team. Now it's 1 am... and people are lounging playing chess. Jereme has been named the chessmaster of the trip. The dude is just on point like Bobby Fisher. And big news... BIEBEL IS IN TOWN!
BARCELONA BLOG 5- Beach Ledges We've still been waking up super late, us Americans haven't adjusted to the time difference and it's been a week. We definitely need to get on point and get on these sessions earlier, but hey, can't say the chess games haven't been going on til the early morning. We waited for Dani Lebron to get here to take us to these beach ledges. We got on the train and went down a couple stops to land on the beach. It was a very nice view of the mediterranean sea, which was my first look at it in my life. We walked up the side of the road and then found some dope ledges that went on for a while. A Venice beach style ledge spot x 10 where Jereme and Danny both got lines. Today was also the debut of Paul's Vato mustache... mad props!
BARCELONA BLOG 6- Nyjah Rips Last night once again finished off with a heated chess game between Paul and Jereme, which ended with the "chessmaster Jerm" handling business. The morning came about pretty sweet when the manager came over to yell at us again for the loud noise and craziness. I had to translate for Maxwell, the team manager. Yeah, we are going to get the boot if we keep it up hahaha. Everything should be chill now that we toned it down, NOT. Well, I decided to wake up early and get on the photo game so I jumped on a Nyjah session since Ny and his Dad were ready to go early. The day went so good. We hit up about 5 spots. The first one set the day off right, we got yelled at by some lady for about 20 minutes to not skate the fountain gap. Little did she know that we just got the trick before she got there so she got all heated for no real reason. After that great encounter we headed to the red up ledge where Biebs hit that long nosegrind. Nyjah hit some good hammers down it. Then we traveled the city and hit the metro scene again and landed at some bump spot next to some crazy building. It was definitely fun skating it. The Spanish must love architecture to be able to make all these cool things. Next we went to some block spot where Nyjah pulled out all the stops and handled it. That kid just rips, he can skate all day and keep on going. Now we're back home, Biebs and Jereme are getting cleaned up and ready for the nightlife.
BARCELONA BLOG 7- Bank to Ledge Spot Last night started with everyone getting cleaned up and lined up. Paul now looks 10x more like he came from East LA with his Vato stache. Everyone looks all G'd up. Most of us got a taste of the Espana nightlife, which ended up with loud music back at the condo at 5 am and crazIness. That was just bad news, but luckily we didn't get a call or visit from the condo manager again. We all woke up super late, but this time we hit a spot everyone got a trick at. That was a good thing knowing the pro's are leaving soon, then come the ams. Another thing, Jereme is on a roll with chess still and he took me out today. I'm pretty bummed. haha
BARCELONA BLOG 8- MACBA Today is the last day Paul, Jereme, and Nyjah are here. Tomorrow morning they head back home. Then comes Ronson, Lem, and Alex to join Biebel and Danny. I left early today to head to MACBA, which is the big four block. Nyjah tried to get down with it, but ended up with a heel bruise. Paul and Jereme showed up so we went to the front where the ledges are and they got buck wild on them. Everyone started to film a line, I even got one. Hoops pulled out the stops and got a pretty buttery line. Some hammers were thrown down by Paul and Jereme...just amazing stuff. Now everyone is chilling celebrating some bangers being thrown down by these two champs..haha. These dudes are pulling out the stops before they leave. Thanks to everyone that has been viewing these blogs so far! We love the support. We got a visit from Jesus Fernandez the local Spaniard, and now we are getting the jams going from Danny Lebron. The house is definitely popping. Gotta go. Keep on coming back!
BARCELONA BLOG 9- Trep and Ronson in the house This morning everyone took off to the airport, and some fresh new heads came our way. Biebel, Danny, and I all decided to get on our session. Biebs got to work on the manual pad and started to get stuff popping for the Silver In Barcelona Vid. I actually got a peep of the rough edit so far and its coming out pretty cool. The video is definitely giving credit to how much fun it is out here. Had to cut the session off early since we got some rain, so we got some groceries at the market. We got home to see Ronson and Trep getting themselves settled in.
BARCELONA BLOG 10- Biebel Rolling Home Today Biebel wanted to get on the skate session after a long night of partying at nasty Mondays at La Rambla. We went to the manual pads to get the trick he was trying yesterday, but it just wasn't flowing like before. He got over it pretty quick and Trep went on skating. I stayed with Trep to handle some stuff he wanted to get. We ended up at MACBA again and the dudes got into some flat ground sessions. Now were back at the condo and they're watching the soccer game. Tonight is Biebel's last night here, so give him some love before he goes.
BARCELONA BLOG 11- Jassy turns 23 Today one of our Filmers, Danny Jassy, turns 23 and you're all invited to his birthday party. Well if you can make it out to La Rambla here in Barcelona. Give some love to this dude for holding it down in Spain thus far. As far as the day goes we've been out on missions to some of the spots and trying to get some good footage for the video. Cerezini lit up the bank ledge spot and got some good tricks, while Ronson fired out some tricks as well. The day has been pretty mellow though since dudes seem to still be a little jet lagged. At the bank spot Riff (filmer) and Jassy threw it down with a game of skate. If you see pictures and you're like "whats going on", its RIFF getting mad... he did win though. I'm sure it'll fade off tonight when we go out and celebrate Jassy's 23rd. NOT! I'm sure we will be waking up once again at 2pm then leaving the house around 4, like we've been doing for most of this trip. It's still all good though knowing these guys kill the streets. Check the barcelona photo album for more photos!
BARCELONA BLOG 12- Alex and Lem Arrive Last night was a pretty good night in Barcelona. Jassy started off the night with a half off beer from the dudes that sling beers on the street since he showed him it was his b-day. Props to that guy for giving to the cause. The rest of the night was a good one, and memories that will be in my mind forever... well, I hope. The night ended with Ronson finding a salamander on the stairs and trying to take it home. Overall it was a good night. This morning Alex and Lem arrived in good spirits to go out and skate. We went to Sants and handled it for a while. Everyone was feeling tired from the night before and their flights, so we came back.
BARCELONA BLOG 13- GETTING IT DONE Today I thought the day was just going to fall through, since it was another late start. The funny thing is that yesterday was probably the most quiet it's been. We all pretty much went to sleep early, only to wake up late again. But the thing is these guys were definitely ready to skate. We went down to the red ledge and got the day started. Trep and Ronson turned up the heat with some hammers, while Lem and Alex played some SKATE. It's crazy, but I think rollerblading is taken pretty serious out here. It's like extreme street Blading... pretty intense. Later we hit this nice 3 block spot down the street, everyone got a trick. You'll have to wait for those photos though in the magazines. Sorry guys.
BARCELONA BLOG 14- MANUAL AWAY Today we went over to the manual spot again. After a long night of celebrating a good skate day yesterday we all woke up sore. So we kept it pretty mellow, yet it was actually a pretty good session. Everyone started to come up with some crazy tricks, the footage will speak for itself thats for sure. Trep and Alex got on it and came up with some good bangers. Now we are trying to save some energy for tomorrow since our days are numbered here. Time is running out for this trip. We are going to try to make these days count.
BARCELONA BLOG 15- The Barcy Sites Today we all debated on where to go. Its like being a kid in the toy store and you can only get one or two toys... but in our case the toys are skate spots. We are in the one place in the world where there are so many good spots that we have no clue where to go. Trep had a trick for the metal ledge we went to the other day. It was chill rolling down to MACBA to meet up with felipe to show us to the ledge spot. Then we cruised up the barcelona streets to get to this ledge up the hills. Its amazing to see how nuts the spainish architecture is. The guys have been pretty worn out from throwing themselves down some 3 block the other day so we kept it pretty mellow today with some lines and single tricks. The city has so much art around, not just that but coronas aren't coronas here..haha it's pretty funny. Well today is coming to a mellow end.
BARCELONA BLOG 16- The Last Days This trip is coming to an end. Two more days and we say goodbye to this lovely apt. Its going so quick these past few days, I dont know if its because we skate and we're celebrating good sessions everynight and waking up super late. That might be it, but hey its definitely been fun. Tomorrow will be the last blog of the trip, so I wanna say that you guys have been great visiting the blog and leaving your comments. Silver team loves you guys for visiting and keeping this trip fun. Hopefully when the video drops you guys can all come back and leave some love and tell us what you think. Not just that but go and ride some silvers...hahaha. Well, today Felipe hooked us up with such a cool spot. He dropped off the directions in the morning and we jumped on the metro and went down some stops. The spot was so amazing, just blue banks and a huge double set. It was a spot where you know if it was in the states it would either not be skateable or be killed. The guys all had some fun with the banks, and Trep took a leap down the double which was insane.
BARCELONA BLOG 17- The End The end is here, the trip is over. Its going to be strange not waking up to madness at this house. Its been an amazing time out here. There is no where I've been thus far where I felt so welcomed by a city. This city is really a skater's paradise. This is going to be the city that will hold a lot of skateboard history. The future growth of skateboarding is shown here in this city. The community of skaters and the environment here has been so chill. It's a beautiful city with such amazing sites, yet so good for a skater lifestyle. Its a big skate park with an amazing view of nature and human aesthetic. The buildings remind you of the history of this city, and yet the growing connection of a world wide skate community. Well, I gotta say to all of you that kept posted to this blog THANK YOU! The team and I appreciate all the support you guys have been showing. We used the last day to take in the sites and be tourist for a bit. Check out some pics in the photo album. Thanks again! Herman Jimenez - photographer/blogger

Thanks to the team for coming out and making this trip the best it could be. Here is the link to the trailer, take a look guys!
