Here is the art, in pencil, for the first two pages of Personal Demons (the opening chapters of our "Hopeless" storyline..concerning Salamandra's early life and.."career..among other odd, dark. things) These pages will also have the introductory text for this story (right to left, as we plan to do this in native manga format) not finished, of course..still need to tone and add effects, the words...and some magic coming from Sal's hand (the one furthest from the lighthouse) going to be trying a new technique for this..involving separately drawn and scanned elements.. at any rate..hope you like! and..welcome(back) to Hopeless, Maine. tom brown

i..have recently finished reading (perhaps.."gobbling" would be a more accurate description) "MEPHISTOS chapter one", again. I have only one complaint about this book, and as i have already voiced it to the creator, i don't suppose there will be any harm in mentioning it here.
It's the "chapter one" part. i want chapter two..NOW. (or, better still, yesterday)
This book is beautifully produced drawn and written. ( i would have been shocked if it had been otherwise) The art is.original, stylish..eye candy. Naniiebim is..SO very adept and skilled..that she can indulge in all of the subtleties and extras that make this an exceptional book. Her storytelling ranges from beautifully over the top to poetic.
The characters..you have no choice but to fall in love with (and wonder..what happens next..what would happen if..) In short they become "real" and stay with you.
Naniiebim is one of my favorite creators..period. This book is an excellent example of why this is so.
I will be first in line (even if i have to nudge and shove a bit) for chapters two and three and..many many more,i profoundly hope!
for ordering info see the info here. http://www.myspace.com/chunkymonkeypoo and/or drop a line to naniiebim@hotmail.com
