Sorry I haven't been blogging much. You know how my Decembers are!
A few of you have sent me private messages asking about what happened last summer. Well, it's hard enough to TALK about -- I dunno if I'm ready to write about it on a place where anyone, good or evil, could be privy to my thoughts. (Heh, I just used the word "privy" for the 1st time ever.)
But, I'll say this much: We'd been under siege by Mare's sisters for a while, basically locked in the house with no way to get out. Supplies were running short, and finally, we decided we had to get out to at least get the most basic needs: Water, medicine, crackers, etc. Somehow, we left just one window unbarricaded (I know that isn't a word, but blah), and that was all it took. Next thing we knew, the house was crumbling and giant crustaceans were chasing us.
I'm not going to tell you where we live now. If you know, you know. But this is just the latest in several hideouts.
Things have been relatively quiet this month -- though we did have one incident of one of our animal pals getting murdered. No idea who did it. Do I even want to know? Ignorance is bliss.
As for me and Cher, there's a little tension, but that's natural considering what's gone on. It could be worse. We could be Mare and Kuse. ($10 says they won't be having another kid this month.)
Really, I just pray for balance. I hope by the time Christmas comes, everything will be okay. Or at least, okay enough for us to celebrate the holidays without looking over our shoulders.
I hope you're having an excellent holiday season, though!

A couple of my peeps asked me how I've been...I guess, like everyone else...up and down.
The good: I'm still with Cher, and I think it's going really great even if I am a bit paranoid over the whole thing. I mean my last "romances" haven't had happy endings. A lot of romances don't, but I think my lovelife has really been one for the books. Just look at the girlfriend I had before this one: She vanished into thin air and even a trip to dang Tahiti didn't give me a clue as to where she went.
So I'm always a little worried that things will end up the same way, or maybe even worse, with Cher. It's not that she's flighty or uncaring...it's just that I know deep down that I love her more than she loves me. How could I not? How many guys' girlfriends can shoot lightning out of their hands?
The bad: Our new way of living is taking some time to get used to. I'm all for mixing things up but this is pretty ridiculous. Most of my family and friends seem to be acclimating just dandy, but I dunno...I kinda miss the old living room.
I kinda can't wait for Thanksgiving. Calm before the storm. Cher's never had a Thanksgiving before, and I'm itching to show her what it's all about. Been studying up on various mushroom gravies and I'm trying to find a place that sells tofurkey, because Cher says she's a vegetarian even though I *distinctly* recall cooking chicken for her last year. Maybe she's a late bloomer?
Oh, last night we all watched "Apocalypto". Did anybody else get sad when all the bad guys killed the panther? She was just protecting her baby panther.

times have changed. i'm really not terribly upset with how they've changed; others seem to disagree. i dunno...i guess i'm just developing the mantra of: "it's only frightening if you let it be." all told, i don't have to live much differently than i've always lived. it feels strange when you have your choices taken away, but if you weren't ever really going to utilize them, can you really feel all that bad about it?

What's the old adage? "When it rains, it pours?"It's true. I'd pretty much forced myself to take my recent rejection like a man and not be all pissy and downtrodden about it...but what do I find when we get back from Tahiti?A new Mare who looks EXACTLY like mine. I mean, they could be twins.Did I mention that she's under Waiterbot's control, and that he keeps her in a birdcage? Yeah, there's that too.If you're having trouble understanding why this is such a problem for me, how can I explain it? OK, try to remember the worst moment of your entire life. I mean...the WORST moment. Now, picture hiring an artist to create an oil painting of that moment, and hanging the painting in your living room so you have to be reminded on the worst moment of your entire life day after day after day. That's pretty much what I'm going through right now.

So lemme guess...you want to hear about Tahiti, huh?
Boy...where do I start?
I don't feel like going into a blow-by-blow of the day. Frankly, I'm still reeling from it. The short version is...we get there, it's beautiful, it's gorgeous, it's sunny...and it would've been the perfect place to rekindle a little lost love. But Mare wasn't there. You know who WAS there, though? Santa Claus.
Now when I say "Santa Claus" ...I don't mean the one we're working with this year. I mean last year's, who was a really great guy and a good friend, and who was appropriately jolly if admittedly a bit apathetic towards being Santa. Which isn't to say he wasn't responsible, because he was, and...oh jeez, I said I didn't want to do a blow-by-blow.
The point is, SANTA saw Mare. Long time ago, though, and he told me Mare had already gone, and that it wasn't worth trying to track her down because she's, quote unquote, "just that kind of girl." Turns out, Mare isn't in danger. She's just flighty. Way flighty. Flighty and kind of a jerk who leaves her ex-boyfriends without a clue that they're no longer real boyfriends. Not that I'm bitter.
So there ya have it. I dragged Tigerboy all the way to Tahiti for nothing, and I came back with nothing but a broken heart.
I didn't ask for a broken heart for Christmas. All I wanted was freakin' sneakers.

Well, Tigerboy and I are ALMOST to Tahiti...and boy, is this a long story. Pull up a chair. Pour some tea.
K, so, the deal is this: I need to find out if my (ex-?)girlfriend is okay or not. If she wants nothing to do with me, that's fine...I just need to make sure she isn't in trouble...or worse.
So Tigerboy and I (we made up) are ON THE ROAD, going to Tahiti. Why? That's the last spot I KNOW Mare was at. Hopefully, she stayed there. Tigerboy and I both feel kind of dumb for completely forgetting to bring warm weather attire. Tahiti is pretty tropical, and yours truly is going to sweat his nards off.
It'll be an adventure, for sure. Or as they say in Tahiti...."fa sha, brah!"
Merry December 7th! Your song of the day is FELIZ NAVIDAD. You know, the good version. Mainly for that last chrous, which comes after you think the song's about to end, and then goes five times longer than you predicted!
Yeah!

I really don't understand people sometimes. Once I think I have them figured out, they surprise me...and not always in a good way. The short version of the story is, Tigerboy gave me grief because I ragged on Waiterbot and Mista Snowman about their shitty Advent Calendar gift. And I mean, yeah, it's not the nicest thing to do in the world...but is it really worth a completely separate party bringing it up six hours later? What the frick does Tigerboy care if I rag on Waiterbot? He rags on us all the time! The truth is that I'm pissy because I keep e-mailing Mare (MY Mare, I mean...the blonde one...my chick-or-reeta) and she won't respond. I'm not gonna spill my guts to Tigerboy about that though, especially when he's so quick to jump down my throat. And no, I'm not worried about him seeing this. 1, he hasn't logged into MySpace for like a year, and 2, I stand behind my words.

Hello, friends! I know I haven't been too prolific on this blog, but you know how it goes. I'll try to be around more often, though it could be tough considering that today is December 1st! In just a short while, Santa is going to 'present' (get it?) us with this year's brand new Advent Calendars, and I don't need to tell you...they can eat up a lot of my time.Everyone's been doing pretty okay lately, for the most part. No major incidents. Well, there is one thing -- we moved into a new house! Totally true. Kuse took on some big city corporate job so he could afford it, and it's kept him pretty fucking busy lately. To be honest, I barely ever even see him anymore. Either does Mare, apparently, because she's always pacing around the house with a phone in one hand and scotch in the other. I'm not talking about Scotch tape, folks. She's been hammered for like a week straight. Shit, I should probably go check on her. I'll be back later, guys. Kuse couldn't get out of work today, and I know Mare's upset that he's not gonna be here for the big Adventy debut. Later!

NOT THE JIM CARREY VERSION...I'm talkin' about the TOON! It was on TV about a week ago...TBS I think...and though the Christmas purist in me thought that it was a little early for Grinchy action, it was nice to see so much red and green during a month that's usually all about turkeys and tryptophan.BUT! There were two things I noticed that never struck me as odd before, but for whatever reason, did now.1) The part where the Grinch has second thoughts about trashing Whoville's gifts. The sack of presents is about to nosedive off a cliff, and Grinch isn't strong enough to save them...until his heart grows three sizes. Aren't enlarged hearts usually the sign of a serious health problem? Even if they spoke metaphorically, how would this give him super strength??! 2) The whole dinner scene at the end is weird. Okay, so the Grinch decided not to be a jerk. I can understand that the people of Whoville wanted to be forgiving in the spirit of Christmas...but they give the guy the seat at the head of the table? It's like...if someone stole your car, but gave it back, you might decide not to press charges, but you wouldn't CROWN the guy. Also, when he's slicing up the meat, check out the size of the slice he gives little Cindy Loo Who. It's wwwwaaaaay too big for a child of her age and size. I don't know why, but that bothers me. I don't like to see food go to waste. I LOOOOVE Max the Dog, though. Every scene with Max is ~the win~. He's the perfect dog, and if you think about it, really served as the prototype for so many other perfect dogs in cartoondom to come. Yay Max!
