Ok, we've made some changes since talking to all you MySpacers recently.

The site has recently changed to www.mycitybuzz.com. Its all the same great coverage, but now expanding with writers in Chicago as well. Here is some of the new stuff to check out:

Movies: New reviews on Superbad, Death of a Funeral, and the Traverse City Film Festival.

Music: Reviews of the Lollapalooza Festival, Marilyn Manson/Slayer show. Plus, interviews with Devildriver, The Showdown and High On Fire on their way.

Also, read about Bohb's ill-fated trip to the Pitchfork Festival. He's got the scars to prove it.

So, before the kiddies go back to school and football season starts, check out www.mycitybuzz.com and tell a friend. Hell, tell an enemy or bum on the street.

In case you're wondering if we're going to get the first post-prison interview of Paris Hilton, guess again. We passed on it to give you these fine new articles from the oft-traveling Detroit Buzz staff:

-Major coverage on the Bonnaroo Festival from Art: the sights, the bands, and a little manifesto for future Bonnaroo festival-goers.

-Mitch's review on the Fantasic Four: The One Where the Silver Surfer Shows Up (or whatever its called).

-Taryn's suggestions for dealing with summer blockbuster blahs and some alternative viewing.

-Bohb's article on rude and obxnoious commuters, and his desire to drive his Vespa all over their Hummers.

-The first in a series of what's in everyone's IPod. Bohb is up first with his choices, and pimps out his own band a little.

-Artist Spotlights on Woodward and The Comas. Expect new spotlights from Robbers On High Street and The Narrator later in the week.

Like I said, we've got a lot of new stuff and none of it has to do with people getting out of prison. We usually like to wait until a Detroit Buzz staff member does that first.  Until then, talk to you soon.

Hey Everyone,

I am heading down to Tennessee this weekend for the Bonnaroo Festival. Gonna be down there to check out the sights and sounds (and hopefully not the smells) of hearing music on a country farm a few days.

Check back next week for my reports from the festival.

Just for the MySpace group, here's the review on the new Linkin Park record:

Linkin Park- Minutes to Midnight

..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

When first hearing the leaked version of the unreleased song "Qwerty" late last year; it seemed like the ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Linkin Park everybody knew wasn't going away anytime soon. The sonic punch the song provided held fans over until the new album was out. Then, we heard the sugary down-tempo "What I've Done", and many fans began to worry about what had come of Linkin Park.

Well folks, prepare to keep worrying as Linkin Park makes the move towards the invetiable "mature" album and trips up a bit on "Minutes to Midnight". Lead by first rate producer Rick Rubin, Linkin Park tries something new and goes off in many different directions, and leaves fans puzzled.

The album gets off to a good enough start with the highlight track "Given Up", in which lead singer Chester Bennington's shredding screams, mixed with Mike Shinoda's MC skills are used to their top effort. Another early key track is "Bleed It Out", which chugs along.

But from there, the album is mostly a downer. "Shadow of the Day" sounds at place on a Lifetime TV movie, and "Hands Held High" sounds like a somber and uninteresting take on the state of the world. After the latter of the two tracks, Shinoda goes mostly silent on the rest of the record. So does DJ Joe Hahn, who adds the occasional scratch here and there but is silent throughout most of the record.

To be honest, there are bands that do this mid-tempo material pretty well. Songs like "Valentine's Day" are tailored made for radio, but lack the haunting effect of past singles, such as "My December". But to be honest, Linkin Park is best when mixing the aggressive with the introspective tunes. On "Minutes to Midnight", we get a different Linkin Park, and not necessarily a more entertaining one.

This reviewer is all for a band trying to switch up their sound from time to time, but not when the results are this meddling and mediocre. Linkin Park swings for the fences on "Minutes", but swings and misses for the most part.

GRADE: C-

For any Detroiters heading down to Columbus for the Rock on the Range show; Detroit Buzz will be covering the event. Except a review of the bands, and maybe, just maybe an interview with Buckcherry in next week's Detroit Buzz.

Just look for the only crazies wearing Michigan maize and blue in the heart of Buckeye Country, and you'll find us.

Check out the review of the Stooges show at the Fox last weekend:

Iggy & The ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Stooges- Fox Theatre- April 13, 2007

..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

After the locally legendary 2003 show at DTE Energy Music Theatre, Iggy Pop and his former bandmates in the legendary punk group the Stooges decided that their comeback wouldn't be limited to just a few shoes. If the sold out show at the Fox Theatre was any indication, the Stooges' comeback wont be a very short lived one.

In a spirited 105 minute set, the Stooges (including original guitarist Scott Asheton and ex-Minutemen bassist Mike Watt) showed us that Iggy Pop could still gyrate and move with men half of his 60 years, and that the band could sound sloppy at times, but overcome it for the most part.

Someone that could have probably used a less low riding pair of jeans, Pop move and strutted throughout the entire set. He may be the oldest man to ever crowd surf, as he did during the group's well known classic "I Wanna Be Your Dog" a few songs into the set. Asheton and Watt mostly stayed in the background as Iggy made his way through the crowd, and even jumped and dry humped the amps on a few occasions.

In a scene that was supposed to seem spontaneous, but was believed to be somewhat planned out, about 150 or so fans rushed the stage during the old cut "No Fun". Iggy fought his way through the crowd of somewhat unruly rules and descended into a blissful mess. At that point, it wasn't so much about the music as it was the fact that the fans were able to get on stage with the band, no matter if this was scripted or not.

The crowd was even receptive to the new material, such as "Trollin" and "My Idea Of Fun". This was even more impressive due to the critical slam job the press has given the new record. But older material was what the fans really came to hear, and anybody wanting to hear "Loose" and "Down On The Street" in its original raw form did not leave disappointed.

At times, guitarist Asheton seemed to lose his riffs through a sometimes muddled sound and to first timers, Iggy's stage antics (including some incessant barking for a minute or two) can seem a little weird. But with the history of the Stooges, and spirit of punk fully with the band, the Stooges pleased their fans and proved that old punks don't have to become sellouts in their twilight rocking years.
