In 2006, the Make Poverty History Concert was the largest and most successful youth-run music event in Australian history. U2's Bono & Edge, Pearl Jam, Evermore, and other supporting artists and Australian youth united with one message, that our generation can end extreme poverty.
Whilst the Make Poverty History Concert sparked awareness, the 2007 ZEROSEVEN Road Trip, 01/07/07 - 07/07/07 is tipped to create the change.
This is your opportunity. Be part of the generation which creates history by ensuring Australia keeps its commitment to giving 0.7% of budget in foreign aid by 2015 to halve extreme poverty.

This toilet is a killer. Click on the toilet to find out more. If you lived in the developing world, you'd be lucky to have a fine quality toilet like this one. 1.2 Billion people can't access clean water and a staggering 2.8 Billion can't access safe and clean sanitation. It's unsanitary and causes diseases like diarrhoea. Diarrhoea might be a bit embarrassing for you, but it can be a death sentence for the poor. Next time your on the toilet think about it. Find out how you can Stir the world on this issue.

It's time I pimp something else I really believe in.

Stir. Stir really is making a difference. It's not people sitting around talking about making a difference. It's people actively getting involved and making a difference. And they need YOU!!
Stir is an online community of young Australians who care about world issues, are sick of waiting and ready to get up and do something! The bigger our number the more power we have to Stir our world. Our Ad Agency came up with a great idea to spend $10,000 fighting poverty instead of spending it on advertising. But we need 10,000 people to sign up to Stir to make it work. PRESS PLAY TO HEAR THE AD GUY EXPLAIN IT World Visions big idea

Please sign up to Stir. click here
To visit the online Stir forums. click here
Then tell us, if you are the person randomly chosen to decide what that $10 000 goes to, how would you spend that money?
For example would you:
* Sponsor a child * Support a Water Health Life project * Support Child Rescue, or * Support Emergency Relief?

So what is Vision Generation?
Vision Generation (we like to call it VGen!) is the official youth movement of World Vision Australia. We are all volunteers and we are all passionate about ending world poverty and injustice. We hold many advocacy and fundraising events throughout the year that we invite you to take part in.
Being a member of VGen is exciting, empowering, inspiring and SO much fun! There is no obligation to attend every meeting or event... you are welcome to be involved as much as you like/have time for!
There are VGen myspaces for most states across Australia. You can find them in my top friends or here are the direct links.
 VGen Victoria
 VGen NSW/ACT

VGen Western Australia
Advice for potential members:
- Be warned, VGen is addictive! Joining in a movement of young people that want to change the world can sweep you off your feet... in a good way! - If there is a particular world issue that you are passionate about, VGen challenges you to act on it. Currently, we are very active in the following areas: Make Poverty History, Make Indigenous Poverty History, Micah Challenge, Environmental Sustainability/Climate Change and Community Education. Why not join one of our campaign teams?! - Email administration@vgen.asn.au for more information or for membership application forms.

Here is an example of what VGen does. This was organised by VGen Queensland - a mime to prove you don't have to be loud to raise a point.
