The most asked question i get besides "who is whitney?" has been "when are you guys releasing a new album?"

Well, i am happy to report that work has begun on new KWD material for release in 2010 (most likely summertime, duh).  The material is only in the writing phase and nowhere near being recorded yet.

It's been a long time coming for most KWD fans considering Nothing Less Nothing More and Hell To Pay were both released June 4th 2007, but to be honest with everyone out there I just haven't wanted to write anything recently (well, for the last 2 years actually).  i have chatted with so many fans over the years about "inspiration" and how that is important to KWD's music.  KWD is not like most other bands out there in the scene.  it is not our living, so we are not at the "mercy" of the road and constantly having to tour.  so KWD does not need to rush into the studio and write songs in a month's time so that a new album can be released in time to jump on the next big tour.  we have never operated like that and, thankfully, NEVER will.  so up until right now i have not felt "inspired" to work on anything new for KWD, so i figured i wouldn't grind my gears on something i wasn't into doing.  now, KWD has entered a new era and it's time to dust off my mental cobwebs and get going again!

our good friend Metal Jeff out in Reno has been selected to do the artwork/photography once again for the new album.  his latest work can be seen in our recent box set release.

the album is titled Ever Thine. Ever Mine. Ever Ours. and is titled that simply because KWD is all of us.  it is no longer just our creation, but along with our fans we are participating in this crazy thing together and the title was chosen to symbolize that.

we are working on several exclusive components for the online purchase of the album.  as everyone SHOULD already know i personally despise the digital sale of music.  so i do everything in my power to make sure that KWD fans BUY our CDs regardless if you only like to purchase music digitally we hope that the only CDs that are on your shelf are KWD CDs. 

ideas being tossed around for inclusion with our estore CD release (naturally none of these will be included on CD store retail versions).

1) bonus live DVD (of archival footage we have gathered over the years)
2) exclusive CD ONLY cover songs.  we have 3 so far, so we will see how many we wind up with in the end.  (these will be on retail version i am sure, just not on itunes version)
3) exclusive bonus CD EP (this is the long shot of the bunch, but we will see how many new songs we wind up with.)

we shall see what the future holds for us.

"friends" who keep wild animals as pets.  it's a shame what happened to the woman who got mauled by the chimpanzee, but honestly anyone who thinks ANY wild animal can be tamed and live a domesticated lifestyle needs a reality check.

they a f*cking wild animals with natural (inborn) instincts to kill without reason or human comprehension.  we are supposed to be the "higher intelligence" but apparently some people don't understand the boundaries that are set out for us as a species.

another perfect example, the guy who was out studying and living with bears and "surprise" was eaten by one.  darwin's theory in action.  people like that may be smart, but they are not strong enough to survive.  sometimes strength is not just in the mental/intelligence capacity but in the "common sense" capacity as well.   i don't know about anyone else, but i like to stay away from things that can eat or maul me (except maybe, my girlfriend!)

time to get back to drinkin....so ponder that for a bit.

EDIT TO POST:  the "friend" with the monkey shows no remorse and was quoted as "she would do it all over again" and raise the monkey.   that is the worst part of the story, she cannot even fathom that something went wrong with owning a wild animal and would feel comfortable putting people at risk again.  hopefully, she gets what is coming to her.

Well after an extended hiatus of 12 days we are BACK!!
Does this mean more shows?!  new album??!   absolutely not, however we are working on a new album and will be getting more serious about it in the coming months, but don't expect anything until mid-2010 at the earliest. we take our sweet ass time, i know, but we aren't like every other band out there.  it's our rules all the time.

Speaking of touring...everyone knows we only tour during the summer months and right now it's November 2nd, so no tours naturally. 

also, during our 12 day hiatus our long time bassist, Josh Coe, decided he could not sit out of action that long and has decided to join a Memphis-based blues called, DELTA HIGHWAY.  we naturally wish him the best of luck and thank him for his services over the past 4+ years.

so, this past weekend was his last performance with KWD as we reunited for a single song with the original live line-up (including Trevor and Charles).

watch for stuff happening for KWD in 2010 sometime.  until then, be sure to pick up your copy of our 4 CD box set and the Stocking Stuffher Holiday EP (if you haven't done so already!)

Hey everybody.

Well, we have decided it's time for KWD to go on hiatus.  There are some life issues we need to deal with and sort out as well as all the parties we shall be attending during this coming Halloween weekend!  We are simply going to be pulled into so many different directions it has lead us to this inevitable point in KWD's history.

So beginning this Wednesday afternoon (10/21) KILLWHITNEYDEAD will be officially going on hiatus until Sunday (11/1).  So we will not be responding to emails, messages, AIMs, etc.  We would not have been able to make it as a far as we have already without your support.  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us into your lives in some form or another.

With this much needed 10 day vacation (technically 7 business days) we promise to return stronger than ever in November 2009!!

I just finally was able to purchase and watch the "Anvil: The Story Of Anvil" DVD.

I know 99% of KWD fans will not know who Anvil is as a band, but if there is one documentary you watch this year or even next make it this movie.

If you call yourself a fan of heavy music this is a testament to dedication. 

I have "Metal On Metal" framed in my man cave and "Forged In Fire" framed in my office as seen below. 

Long blog short...watch the movie and give Anvil 90 minutes of your life.  They have earned it more than any band out there.

Long live HEAVY METAL.

there is a reason why we only tour once a year!  hahaha.

well, after much planning we have cancelled the mini "party to pierre's" tour.  some people may not know but over the last few years of KWD we have been moving all over the state to live (some being 4 hours from me) and have daily lives and jobs to attend to and we just got our signals crossed in planning this mini tour.  it's really alot easier for us as a band to tour once a year so we will be back again soon.

we received an offer to come play at the tremont in charlotte for year end blowout.  so once we confirm our holiday obligations and if that seems to be free we will confirm it.  i intend on making it one hell of a show.  so hopefully all i can think of will happen.

Well, i am kind of bummed right now.  Patrick Swayze's fight with pancreatic cancer is over. 

as many of you know from the abundance of clips i have chosen to use over the years i am a big fan of Swayze films so i am sadden to see him go.

my buddy and i are planning a marathon of films in his honor. 
STEEL DAWN, ROADHOUSE, YOUNGBLOOD, RED DAWN and POINT BREAK are just a few we will watch.

shouting "WOLVERINES!!" may never be the same again.

although every time i watch this video is makes me laugh so hard i almost cry.  it NEVER gets old.  sad to think they are BOTH gone from this earth now.

so take a moment this weekend and watch something of Swayze's and remember the almighty words of Dalton saying "I want you to be nice...until it's time to not be nice."

Well in a shocker told to us recently, HOT TOPIC, is going to be carrying our new box set in stores!!  Not that they haven't supported us before, as they have, but for them to pick up this box set and a catalog piece is what shocked us the most!

We were told they took a bunch of them off our hands.  It's not due in stores until 9/13, but we all know i don't give a f*ck about how the industry "works" so they may have them on shelves before then.

So those of you who didn't want to order from us directly, be sure to head out to your local HT and pick up a copy!!
