L. A. POWER POP GIRL BAND "ROCKET" ANNOUNCES TOUR
HOLLYWOOD, CA, January 8, 2008–In September of 2007, Rocket was named "one of the top ten bands in Los Angeles" by the editors of the L. A. Weekly. But by October 2007, they were already one of the top twelve unsigned bands in America, according to the Fox Television show "The Next Great American Band. " Rocket was not only the sole all-girl band in the competition, but also the only band with a female singer.
Lead-singer Lauren Rocket states, "The competition was one of the greatest experiences we've had in our two-years together. But after not touring for over five months, we are so happy to jump back in our van and play our hearts out. "
ABOUT ROCKET:
The all-girl band mixes 60's girl group innocence with '80s glam wham swagger. This volatile combination leaves one wondering what the results would be if the Shangri-La's crashed the stage during an early Motley Crue gig.
Rocket has toured nationally with Butch Walker, The Horrorpops and The SuicideGirls, and spent the entire summer of 2006 on the Warped Tour. Support spots have included everyone from Rancid and Sugarcult to OK GO and The Sounds. Rocket has released two albums – 2005's "Too Hot to be Bothered" and the 2006 EP "Girls With Candy Hearts," both on Teenacide Records.
