Right now!  Get it on AmieStreet.com!  Right now!  For free!

Update: It's no longer free, but it's still dirt cheap.  The way AmieStreet.com works is the more downloads there are, the higher the price goes.  As of today, the price 15¢ per song, or 75¢ for the whole record, still not a bad deal while it lasts . . .

For you modern nomads that don't wish to be weighed down by a hard copy of a record, our latest EP, Walking Papers, is now available for download online from Amazon, eMusic, Napster, Rhapsody, and Last.fm, with more (including, presumably, everyone's favorite, iTunes) coming soon.

If you're one of those old-fashioned folks that still like to own a physical copy of a CD, those can be found in-store at Grimey's, The Groove, and, of course, Grand Palace, or you can order a copy online by going to our website and clicking on MERCH. While you're there, grab a shirt while the grabbin's good, because they are almost gone.

Tired of making up words to our inscrutable new EP, Walking Papers? You can now find all the lyrics to that record (not to mention all of our earlier releases) by going to our website and clicking on DISCOG.

Speaking of our earlier releases, we have it on good authority that our debut long-player, Light the End and Burn It Through is almost sold out, at which point it will fall into the "Out of Print" category. If you want a hard copy of that record, you'd best hurry over to Theory 8 Records' webstore and pick up a copy or three, because when they're gone, they're gone.

And speaking of segues, our boss gray t-shirts are selling out. We have a few sizes left in our store right now, but after that, the future is uncertain. To grab what's left, go to our website and click on MERCH.

From the Nashville Rage:
Apollo Up! stay above water with Walking Papers

Chariots of Fire, the last release from Nashville post-punk/power-pop trio Apollo Up!, ended up being one of the strongest and most surprising local rock releases of 2006. Frontman Jay Leo Phillips revealed a melodic sense that was as sharp and dexterous as his blistering guitar work.

The guitar-playing, in particular, proved irresistible to Austin rockers … And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, who absorbed Phillips into their shifting lineup. His hectic schedule with the group has forced this five-song EP to be delayed for a year. Now, appearing at a time when the band's visibility seems at an all-time-low, it feels like a belated footnote to Chariots' triumphs.

But even if Walking Papers doesn't reaffirm the band's future, it's still a welcome addendum. There's a consistent, heavy focus on song structure and melody here, though the tones have darkened.

"Habakkuk" churns in dissonant chords and plodding drums between sprightly verses, while "Guilty Fever" coasts on spy-movie guitar lines and Phillips' sinister, Elvis Costello-style sneers.

There are fleeting bright moments, too: "The Heartbreak of Victory" boasts the most chipper, baroque-flavored melody the band has produced yet, albeit engulfed in crash cymbals and throaty howls.

This disc provides a helpful reminder of AU!'s burgeoning brilliance and reignites hope that they'll be able to carry on — at full speed — in the future.

You can pick up Walking Papers at Grand Palace, Grimey's, The Groove and, as always, ApolloUp.com.

Our very small run of our very nice, new t-shirts sold out in under an hour Saturday night, leaving many of you out in the cold. This defies the very purpose of a t-shirt, which should leave one cool and comfortable, but certainly not cold. So, to make it up to those of you that missed out, we will be selling those self-same shirts online. We may also be selling copies of our new record, Walking Papers, in a similar fashion. Details coming soon.

In the meantime, if any of you lucky souls that wound up with a shirt would like to send us a photograph of yourself wearing said shirt, so that the whole world can see how handsome they are (and, by extension, how handsome you've become) please do so, so we can share it/you with the interwebz.

What else? Oh yeah, tour dates. Not ours, though, not for a while. But Jay will be rounding out his tour of duty with Trail of Dead this month with a set of dates across Old Europe. If you live in or near one of these spots, go see Jay, say hi, hug his neck, and wish him luck.

Thanks to everyone that made it out tonight, and everyone that wanted to but couldn't. Thanks to Chris Crofton and Grimey and the Basement. Thanks to Bingham and Chuck and everyone at Grand Palace. Thanks to Aaron Hartley and the Theory 8 Fam.

We hope you enjoyed tonight as much as we did. We'll see you again, sooner or later.
