Current mood:  artistic
So I was recently messing around with some new songs I'd written, demoing them out, trying different instruments, etc., when I thought, hmmm....these actually sound more like.....a different band.

Fast forward several months and I give you - Radio Nowhere! That's the name of the band, and yes, we have websites:

radionowhere.net
myspace.com/radionowhere

Both of these sites will let you listen to our first single, "London Calling". You'll probably notice that it's still me singing, (and the bio is prrreettyyyy similar) but the rest of the sound is new. If you like it, leave an email address. We've got 3 or 4 more songs that we intend to drop pretty soon....

Current mood:  aggravated
Have you noticed that my page, while somewhat bitchin', is just a little....quieter than other bands' pages?

Yes, there's something wrong with the songs here, namely, that shit won't play. I've emailed MySpace about this (6 frickin' times, not that I'm counting or anything), but no response so far.

In the meantime, you can check my CD Baby page if you'd like to hear what some of these songs sound like.

Current mood:  contemplative
I'm thinking it may be time to lose the "Slim" moniker and pick something else to call my band. No, I haven't gained a ton of weight, and Slim has certainly served me well, but it's starting to seem a little like a cool shirt I bought a few years ago that isn't that cool anymore. Plus, lots of other little Slims are popping up on the Internets, and some of them have beaten me to the hip virtual real estate. Damn!

So what should I call my new band, which is actually my old band, but kind of new as well (or something)? Any suggestions...?

Current mood:  sad
Got home for the evening, took a look at S.F. Gate, and got a punch in the stomach. In very small type, "Chris Whitley, musician, dead at 45". Oh no. Chris Whitley was one of the most incredible musicians/artists that most people have never heard of, and if it hadn't been for him, I'd be a copier salesman or a history professor right now. I have a lot, a LOT more to say about him, but for right now I can't. If you've never heard of Chris Whitley, get a copy of Living With the Law, stick it in your car stereo and head straight for Death Valley, or Interstate 50 across Nevada, or Texas, or Mexico, and play it loud. Hopefully we'll meet you in the Big Sky Country.

Finally! Frequent visitors to this page may have noticed that it didn't, hmmm, what's the word?....oh, yeah--exist--for pretty much all of September and October. Why not? Because the MySpace powers that be just hauled off and erased the whole damn page. Why? No one knows, or at least no one in the "customer service" department. Best just to make sure that you don't have any problems while MySpacing, I guess. Anyway, I'm glad to be back, and it's great to see all of you again. I'm planning on putting some new music up soon too. I'm finishing up a production project for someone else, and then I'll be uploading some stuff for comments before I do final mixes and the like.
