About Tools of War

Co-founded by Jorge "Pop Master Fabel" Pabon and Christie Z-Pabon, Tools of War was named with the idea that there are many "tools" one can use in competing/battling within Hip Hop culture: turntables, microphones, paint, one’s body, and especially one’s voice (and so on)! Although the name might appear aggressive, the intent behind it’s use is actually to inform and educate people regarding not only Hip Hop but many other social and political issues. As we grow, we are finding that it has also become a forum for voicing opinions and sharing ideas which might help in unifying and uplifting people all over the world. Please visit us at myspace.com/Toolsofwar

ULTIMATE FORCE: I'M NOT PLAYIN'
Ultimate Force: Diamond D & Master Rob
Double LP /Double CD: $17.98
Release Date: March 27, 2007
Unreleased circa 1988-1990

From the vaults of the legendary producer and DJ, Jazzy Jay, time will show that a 17-year delay in the release of the Ultimate Force's ridiculously dope debut, "I'm Not Playin", is an injustice of mammoth musical proportions! Take one listen to "Another Hit", "Girls", "Revolution of the Mind", the stellar posse cut "Oh Shit" (featuring a teenaged Fat Joe, also heard here on "C'mon") and one of the best DJ tracks of all time, "Supreme Diamond D", and tell me that these wouldn't have blown up if they had hit, as originally planned, in 1990. We all know that the Ultimate Force's DJ and producer Diamond D is one hell of a tracktitioner. His work on Lord Finesse's 1990 classic "Funky Technician" proved it, his 1992 debut "Stunts, Blunts & Hip-Hop" cemented it early on, and his track record ever since (Fugees, Busta Rhymes, DITC, etc.) has shut down any doubters. Case closed. But one listen to this record will show you where his skills really started to shine. And not just as a producer and not as an MC (he didn't rhyme in the Ultimate Force). His DJ skills here, along with his now-legendary production muscle, are worth the price of admission alone. Imagine if the world had heard "Supreme Diamond D" – wherein the man born Joseph Kirkland runs through the entire alphabet, cutting phrases from A to Z – in 1990.

Busy Bee was originally a member of the Fantastic 5 MCs and The L Brothers. He is considered one of the first comedic emcees, and lives up to his title as Chief Rocker. He would always get the crowd involved... "Whats your zodiac sign?", "If you love your mom say ho!", classic call and response. These were techniques that all emcees used at the time, but Busy relied a little more on these than most. He was usually backed on the wheels of steel by Kool DJ AJ, who would later gain fame spinning for Kurtis Blow. A perfect display of his party starting moves can be seen in the classic movie "Wild Style". He is infamous for his battles with Kool Moe Dee and his first single "Making Cash Money", which was released on historic Sugar Hill Records in 1982, but his best work remains the Jazzy Jay produced "Running Thangs" full-length. This album was originally released in 1988 and reflects that classic period of time both lyrically and musically (produced by the legendary DJ Jazzy Jay of the All Mighty Zulu Nation). As legend has it, and Kool Moe Dee backed it, lyrics were in most part ghost-written by Melle-Mel, of the Furious 5 MC's, leading to a noticable more hardcore version of the Chief Rocker. Once released, the classic jams "Suicide" and "Express" where playing wherever you went, from The Zodiac in the Bronx to the Rooftop (as seen in the film "Paid In Full", where Busy Bee plays himself.) This CD is classic B-Boy material guaranteed to take you back to the time of dookie-rope chains, kangol hats, acid wash jeans, troop jackets and dapper dan suits. Strong City Records and Traffic Entertainment Group proudly presents Busy Bee "Running Thangs" complete with additional mixes, dubs and instrumentals never before offered on CD, as well as an enhanced portion featuring the full music video to the classic single "Express".

Shabazz, had a sound that caught the ear of Jazzy Jay, Hip Hop pioneer and owner of Strong City Records. Recorded in the Bronx by Jazzy Jay himself, this album was heavily influenced by the break beat culture of the late 70s. With its dense production value and rapid fire vocal delivery, "Dynamite" is a perfect example of "golden era" Hip Hop. To guarantee optimal sound quality, all tracks have been transferred and re-mastered by Jazzy Jay using the original studio master tapes.

The Original Jazzy Jay was one of the first to bring Hip Hop music to the airwaves, on KISS FM in NYC in the early 80s. With the Jazzy 5, he recorded the hit single "Jazzy Sensation" and was propelled to stardom when he co-produced the seminal hit "Planet Rock" with Afrika Bambaataa and The Soul Sonic Force. Jazzy Jay also played the role of club DJ in the Hip Hop classic "Beat Street" and also appeared on the movie's soundtrack. Jazzy Jay's role as an originator continued when he founded Def Jam records along with Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons. While with Def Jam, Jazzy worked with such artists as LL Cool J, The Beastie Boys, and Public Enemy. Jazzy Jay also produced the third Def Jam 12" in 1985 called "Def Jam" b/w "Cold Chillin' In The Spot" with Russell Simmons on vocals. Jay furthered his producing and engineering skills when he founded Jazzy Jay's Studio, providing a place where Fat Joe, Brand Nubian, A

Tribe Called Quest, among others could begin their careers. Jazzy than began a new label with Rocky Bucano- Strong City records was born. Strong City produced a multitude of hits with Ice Cream Tee, The Masters of Ceremony, Busy Bee, and Don Baron and of coarse "Cold Chillin' In the Studio Live". This underground classic contains some of the hottest MC's, DJ's and producers of the era including DJ Jazzy Jay himself, Tony-D (Poor Righteous Teachers, YZ), DJ Grand Wizard Theodore, The Ultimate Force (feat. Master Rob a young pre-DITC Diamond D!) and many more. The Diamond D produced "I'm The King" featured the first appearance ever of Lord Finesse!!! The entire album has that old school, Bronx '88-'89 flavor that Jazzy Jay created and the Diggin' In The Crates crew perfected. The album also includes the classic singles "I'm Not Playing", by the Ultimate Force and "Back To The Lab" by Tony D.

Ultimate Force: Diamond D & Master Rob
12": $6.98
Originally released in 1988

1. Vocal
2. Instrumental
3. Dub Version

"I took a blues break and I broke it!" Before DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist had a 'brain freeze', Diamond D was loopin up Albert King's "Cold Feet" to make heads nod. This authentic slice of NYC golden era Hip Hop has been on want lists from here to Mars for `the better part of the last decade. Ultimate Force consisted of MC Master Rob and DJ/Producer Diamond D, and together they dropped this incredible single on Jazzy

Jay's own Strong City Records way back in '88. To insure top sound quality, this "I'm Not Playing" reissue has been re-mastered by Jazzy Jay himself, using the original master tapes. Ultimate Force was never heard from again, until now, thanks to Traffic Entertainment Group's special arrangement with Strong City Records.

ULTIMATE FORCE: "GIRLS" 12"
Ultimate Force: Diamond D & Master Rob
Released Date: Feb 27, 2007
Previously unreleased
12" price: 6.98

1. Girls Album
2. Girls Instrumental
3. I'm in Effect Album
4. I'm in Effect Instrumental
5. Supreme Diamond D Album
6. Supreme Diamond D Instrumental
7. Supreme Diamond D Scratch-Apella

Strong City and Traffic Entertainment are proud to present the second single taken from the unreleased Ultimate Force album. Leading off this single is the song "Girls", a catchy loop with Master Rob dropping some slick female related rhymes, reminiscent of 3D's "Funky Dividends". "I'm in Effect" is a hard core B-Boy joint with all types of James Brown samples, complimented nicely by a monster Black Sabbath drum loop later rocked by the Jungle Brothers on "Beads on a String". The B-Side wins again on this single as "Supreme Diamond D" is one of the dopest DJ cuts ever heard! Diamond D and Jazzy Jay take Blow Fly's "Alphabet Song" to the next level. After Master Rob delivers his verse about Diamond D's strength on the turntables, D lines up a cut that starts with each letter of the alphabet, A through Z. This shit is bananas and highly recommended!
