Hello, furry friends,

First of all, we hope you will all save August 30 to come help us celebrate the release of our new CD "Scream Like Human Beings!" It was recorded by Mark Ospovat, produced by our bass player Casey Holford, and it features guest stars Preston Spurlock (Sewing Circle) and Sam Grossman (WoWz). A few of the tracks are updated versions of older recordings (Macaque Attack with synthesizer? Really???) and others are a sampling of some of our newer stuff (Stamp along with "Cock Fight!" and cry along with "Hot Dog"). We hope you enjoy it!

Here's the show:
Saturday August 30
Glasslands
289 Kent Ave, Williamsburg, Brooklyn
$5
7: Fruitfly
8: The Bloodsugars
9: Schwervon!
10: Urban Barnyard

Secondly, our guitarist, treasurer, and webmaster Dibs has updated our website for these changing times. There's more tracks to preview and high resolution photos to download. You can check that out at urbanbarnyard.com.

see you soon!

Love and snuggles,
UB

hello, your favorite band that sings songs about animals in the city wanted to let you know:

in the current issue of the east village music zine Urban Folk, there is a big old feature interview with us, documented on location at phoebe's apartment while we were eating brownies and listening to records and perhaps drinking several beers. Urban Folk's Justin Remer asked the tough questions, and Urban Barnyard took a stand on hard-hitting issues like:

*how we write songs about animals
*why we write songs about animals
*when we first started writing songs about animals
*just who is the "Real Urban Barnyard" anyway?
*is Daoud, after all, wearing long underwear?

uhhh. yeah, so, you can read the rest of it in the issue. there's some pretty pictures of us in there too. we know for sure that there are definitely some copies at Sidewalk Cafe on avenue A and 6th street. there are probably also some at like Bowery Poetry Club and alt coffee and maybe Cake Shop. probably also we will scan it or something and put it up on our website.

have a nice day and thanks for reading this long-winded bulletin about an interview about a band about animals!

love,
Urban Barnyard
