Well interesting news. I got a positive Lyme test a while back. After my back surgery I had a strong Herximer(die off) reaction from the surgical antibiotics. This sparked a neurological event consistent with ones that are supposed to be MS. I will be trying a course of antibiotics in a couple of months when my ack has been given some time.

Now cooperate and everything will be fine.

Success! The angry mob has been placated, and the agenda can move forth with it's next phase of the operation.

The big question is the good cop going to be sacrificed, and if so who will be the patsy. Will this be another JFK scenario, with the Camelot in the sky, that never was. And...A hidden enemy that is a straw man in dark.

The until now untrusted media has become the now embraced purveyor of the New Dawn. A new Babylon of  celebritised compliance.

So out with the bad cop and in with the good. Things will be fine, just don't zero in on negativity.

So for reasons of copyright issues myspace hase taken down the playlist widget. I'm actually surprised it took so long. So if you enjoyed listening to my playlist it can be found here http://www.playlist.com/swifty
It has my lounge-esque list as well as nods to my more obnoxious leanings of the past.

Somehow exposing people to new music is bad for artisits bottom line. I find out about new stuff and have oftn been promted to search out and buy said tunes from sources such as these, but who am I to question the wisdom of the recording industry?

Again Myspace is just doing what they have to, so czeq out my playlist page for more great tunes.

Now that the end of the Bush presidency is nearing it's end, who are Americans going to blame for their problems? It seems that in lieu of personal responsibility, Americans have enjoyed the auspices of blaming bush and absolving themselves of blame. Elevating Bush to the status of Americhrist (my own original term).

While I was never a bush supporter, I was not in the bash camp either. I found disappointment in the Democrats, poor treatment of their first anti-war candidate, Howard Dean. Also a fair amount of disgust with all the Kerry bumper stickers on SUVs. We want oil without guilt. When Bush was in office there wasn't an opportunity to live in denial about where are resources come from. So much to the horror of many, I think it can be said that Bush opened many peoples eyes and did in fact promote some to taking responsibility for their impact.

A solution to many of the worlds current and impending problems is controlling the growth of population. Climate change, whether it be warming or cooling would benefit from a global population that would be at a reasonable carrying capacity. Education, health care, agriculture/starvation, transportation, all would benefit with manageable population numbers.

Zero Population growth, one child per person is a reasonable place to start, with perhaps incentive/disincentive tax policies that stimulate this type of model would be an effective tool. Pushing retirement age further back for people that have more children. Not making it a crime, instead creating strong incentive based policies that encourage this type of scenario. This needs to be a global movement.

Tax based incentive programs could also be used to generate funding for things such as alternative energy sources, and alternative transportation. Something like a 40/40 rule that charges a 40% tax on vehicles that do not get 40 miles a gallon. With obvious exemptions for things like schools, farms, hospitals, etc... This would allow people to drive the car they want while helping fund the roadway to the future. A transitional step into the future of energy independence.

In this 2008 election I can't bring myself to vote for either of the major parties. I actually wanted to run a campaign this year but due to sciatic issues was not able to dedicate the time to solidify my platform, which consists of ideas such as above. So don't blame me. I voted for myself.

This may also be a beginning for my website heyliberal.com. While I often find myself in support of the ideals that are often considered "liberal" territory, I usually find myself in direct opposition to the method, attitude and the general elitism that accompanies the liberal stance. Ideas, good or bad, are generally unpalatable when they are being forced down ones throat.

There I said it.

Hello,

As many of you know I have Multiple Sclerosis.

I am seeking medical help outside of the established medical paradigm, and I need your help.

To Further complicate things I have some lower back issues which seem to be confusing the problem. This looks like it may likely require surgery in the near future. However in my current state surgery becomes a shakey proposition, so I am trying to regain my health as much as possible before hand. This may also help me avoid surgery, which in my current state would be a blessing.

On Tuesday July, 24th my wife and I will be travelling to Southern California  to The Brain Therapeutics Medical Clinic, to seek the care of Dr Steenblock, (a pioneering medical doctor in integrative therapies)  I will be looking to get Stem Cell Treatment, through his practice. I may get the therapies now, or this may be an exploratory trip to see what loose ends on my health I may need to tie up in order to get the most out of the therapy.

I was originally refered to Dr Steenblock for stem cell therapy through the Century Wellness Clinic in Reno Nevada, which I was treated at in 2006. The nutritional based approach was very helpful in stabalising my condition. Unfortunately a bad experience with Physical rehab which set me back and undid much of the gains I saw through the Century Wellnesss Clinic. Yet I have still continued my health based approach, with the idea that I wanted to have an optimal condition for stem cell treatment. More information available on my website conqueringms.com

The Therapies that I will be receiving include using CD34 and CD133 Umbilical Stem Cells (link),  this will be followed up with bone marrow stem cell treatment using my own bone marrow. Finding a less toxic stem cell therapy for multiple sclerosis "MSCs have a direct immunomodulatory effect that occurs independent of any chemotherapeutic drug or cytotoxic agent."

Stem Cell Therapy In Multiple Sclerosis - Now It Is Time To Really Start

I will also be recieving a platelet rich injection at the site of my lower back to help stabalise any issues I am having there. There is more to tell on this but I will try and write more in the future.

Stem Cell use has certainly been a source of controversy, yet many of the available therapies actually come from sources of little ethical dilemna.

Sources of Stem Cells:

Autologus - Stem Cells derived from/Using a persons own (Stem Cells), such as bone marrow, skin etc. This source of stem cells provides a source that is less prone to rejection.

Umbilical or Cord Blood - Stem Cells derived from the Cord Blood of newborn babies. These are actually considered adult Stem Cells, although they may contain embryonic like stem cells. The Cord Blood must be screened and processed to prevent potential reactions.

Embryonic- This is the boogeyman of the stem cell debates and is often raised as a reason to stiffle any dialogue on the subject. The fact is, that Embryonic stem cells may not be a suitable candidate for therapies as they have such a high rate of proliferation that have shown to lead to a possible cancerous state. They do, however, offer a highly usable medium in the research arena.  If there is a true ethical concern here it would have proven itself more viable if it had rallied around the excess embryos created by fertility clinics, which have been destroyed for years if not decades before the issue of Embryonic Stem Cell Research had arrisen. In fact, in a recent survey of Fertility Clinics found that up to 60% of infertile parents would donate their extra embryos to research   (link) Furthermore, as scientists become aware of more sources of stem cells, the Embryonic issue becomes less valid as a concern, and more of an obvious attempt to roadblock therapies that circumvent profit opportunities by the use of such a blatant red herring.

The therapy I will be recieving is free of Embryonic Stem Cells and not an ethical hurdle.

How you can help.

Donations;
There are several ways to help through donations. By visiting conqueringms.com, we have set up a link to make donations including a way to make Tax deductible donations.

Make a donation directly to Conquering MS, through the conqueringms.com help page.

Make a tax deductible donation through the Eric Drew Foundation, through a link found on the conqueringms.com help page.

Add the banner for donations found at http://www.conqueringms.com/donate.html to your web site or Myspace page. Just copy and paste the provided code, a link with the banner will appear on your page, no need to save the image or anything.

We have also started an eBay account for Conquering MS and would be glad to accept donations of goods and or services for auctions.

Keep positive thoughts and prayers for my family and I.

My Wife has broken the expenses down as follows

Funding needed
$100 rent a wheel chair
$1,050 travel (flight, hotel, car)
$2,500 bone marrow transplant
$500 platelet rich injection
$14,000 2 vials umbilical stem cells (1 injection, 1 intravenous)
$18,150 Total donations needed
$22,000 (Total needed if donating through EDF, but it's fully Tax Deductible!)

This seems like a huge number, but 200 people donating $100 will pay this off!

I want simple things in life. To walk on the beach with my wife and to go kayaking with my son. Please help this dream come true.

It will not be wasted or unappreciated.

Thank You
Michael Swift

P.S. I will have to avoid sources of Electro Magnetic fields for a while after the procedure, and will not be able to be on the computer. So, if there is anyone out ther that wouldn't mind helping me write and post stuff please contact my wife through her page.
