We are seriously finally coming to the end of this long and ridiculously long road of writing, recording, and mixing our upcoming album.  It seems these things are taking longer and longer to put out but we assure you it will be well worth the wait!

Also, we would like to reveal to you the cover to the upcoming album (see below)......it may still be tweaked a bit but for the most part it is done and we wanted to show it off.

In a few weeks we should have some great interviews, reviews and a definite release date for the new album.  You will be able to get it through iTunes as well as other online channels.

Also, for those die hard CD collectors we will have physical copies available for sale as well.

STAY TUNED.

TELL A FRIEND!!!!!!! and get your asses to the show!
Thursday, July 30, 2009
Do you know how when you reach for something and instead of grabbing it you actually push it away.  That is what our current album seems like.  We push and push and the final mix, let alone the release, seems to be pushed further and further back.

Here is the update, as of now.

We are currently in the middle of retracking the guitars and bass, you can hear a sample of what we are doing on our preview track of "I Viking" (up now on our page).  We just were not satisfied with the previous tracking and now we have hit the nail on the head with the sound we want, it is just taking time to get it all done.

Josh Newell, the dude mixing the album, is now on vacation till the 11th of August.  This is a good thing as it gives us time to get the retracking done.  The final mixing should go quick and we should have the new album out before the end of the year, well that is the hope anyway.

Thank you for your patience and support as we frustrate ourselves trying to get this album out.  I believe it will be well worth the wait.

I have always loved the idea and mythology of vikings.  I remember watching the 13th Warrior years back and thinking of how awesome the vikings were in that movie.

Then one day I was watching metal videos on Yahoo Music and holy crap...I saw for the very first time Amon Amarth.......the most bad ass viking metal band ever, IMO.

When I started to write the new material for "The Gates of Necropolis" I really wanted to pay tribute to Amon Amarth, The 13th Warrior, and the awesome mythos that is the Vikings.

The song had to be epic and driving like an army of Viking warriors making ready to battle and then slaughtering their enemies!

Everyone in the band has done a kick ass job bringing this piece together.  From Joe's thundering tribal warrior off beat to Skary's pummeling delivery of the vocals.

I am proud of the rhythm and especially the solo on this song.  It says a lot to me musically and I hope it does for you as well.

I hope you enjoy the lyrics as well as the song.  PLEASE VISIT OUR PROFILE TO LISTEN TO THE ROUGH MIX OF THIS SONG!

I VIKING
By: Brent D. Wisdom

Ten to one I like the odds
marching out a freedman's cause
Shields raised high my sword I hold
brothers in arms from young to old

blood covered snow cut flesh flies by
I-spot my prey soon he will die
I-call my fathers help me I pray
Grant me victory on this day

(CHORUS)
Victory will soon be ours!
no matter if I live or die!
Victory will soon we ours
Listen to our War Cry!

cold steel slices tender skin
the taste of blood soon we will win
Battle rages on in the cold of night
cutting off heads at a hallowed site

(CHORUS)
Victory will soon be ours!
no matter if I live or die!
Victory will soon we ours
Listen to our War Cry!

(BRIDGE)
Valhalla, I'm coming home
Valhalla, in your halls I will roam

Holy Crap!

It always seems that our albums take longer than usual.  But hopefully they are well worth the wait.

We are very excited about what we have put together for our fourthcoming album "The Gates of Necropolis".

Three songs are going off for mixing in the morning.......  A few more the next day and so on until the end of the week when our Mixer will have all 10 tracks.

Now mixing is a tricky process and could take a while......however, our mixer is an industry dood and knows what he is doing.

So for the next few weeks Wisdom13 will be attached to the mixing guys hip as we complete the mixing and mastering of the new album.

We will post the first one or two tracks off the next album in the next few weeks so you can get a taste before you purchase the album.

Okay so what the hell.  We are pretty business like dudes and like to have a good time.  So we play a show at the Whisky A Go Go last night.....thanks for all that came out to support!!!!......any way.  So we are chilling out seriously minding our own business.  We are in one room, another band (not mentioned) exclusively in another room.  They were partaking in some illegal substances and we were having "A" drink....seriously.  We were not getting rowdy or anything like that, seriously.  I had opened a bottle of jack to get "warmed up" before going on stage.  I don't want to pay the $1,000,000 that the whisky charges for drinks so we are smart and bring our own.....like most every other band out there.

A douchbag "bouncer" walks in and says "wheres the jack".  Like we were breaking some sort of backstage law.  Nothing in any contract that we signed......no signs posted....etc.  He takes the bottle.  WHAT THE HELL!!!  The dudes next door are doing LINES OF COCAINE!!!!  AND THEY TAKE OUR LEGAL BOTTLE OF OLD NO. 7!  They won't even give it back after the night is over.  Are you serious?

Even if it is written down in some fine writing somewhere that we cannot bring our own alcoholic beverages on the property......(though the headliners of the night can do that, hmm?).....what the hell.

I do enjoy steping on the same stage that Led Zeppelin, Randy Rhoads, Van Halen, KISS and many others have been on.  But come on.  Most of the bouncers are jerks and the place is looking a bit run down.  Let us drink our jack and be cival!  But NO.....the money hungry jerks can't just take the hundreds of dollars we just gave them in selling tickets and be content they have to steal our property.

AAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

Drum Tracks: DONE!
Guitar Tracks: Half done.
Bass Tracks: Half done.
Lead Guitar: not done
Vocals: not done.

We are moving along in our recording of this album.......things are sounding epic and brutal!!!

On a side note: Joey Remmers has finished the cover for the album and it is amazing......more than we could have asked or hoped for.  It completly grabs the vision of what we are doing.

Remember Dan?  Many of you probably don't....it's been a long time since he has had a bass in his hand.  You may remember him from our first video "Beyond the Grave" (check that video out in our Videos!!).  Through some crazy circumstances and many weird things within the band HE IS BACK thumping harder than ever!!!

Where's Brian? You ask.  Just as in this video right back where he started...playing rhythm guitar.  For the most part we have an all original line up PLUS one.

Wisdom13: on Lead Guitar Vocals
Joe: Drums
The D.M.: Guitar
Dan: Bass
Skary: Vocals

Last night was a historical event (Jan 8th 2009) as we started to work out some of the new songs.  I personally had chills most of the night as we were turning these riffs into real songs.  It was really good to have Dan back in the saddle, everything felt right.
