It's time for another installment of Updates on Chemcoma!!!

Straight to business:

Goodbye to Red Room

As of November 2008 Chemcoma’s base of operation ceased to be the scary, abandoned Crouch School(where all the writing & recording sessions leading up to “You and Isolation” took place) and became a 1000 sq. ft. studio space situated in a secluded section of  Lafayette, IN. The move was a little bittersweet. It’s kinda hard to leave behind something that was instrumental in the origin & initial growth of the band. Looking ahead, our new home will likely be a continued source of inspiration with many more tools available to the group and potential distractions. We didn’t have the luxury of cable & internet at Red Room... or reliable climate control & sanitary living conditions for that matter.

The new space contains two separate rooms: the control room for business & monitoring the recording process & the live room for rehearsing, recording at loud levels, & equipment storage.

With a short settling-in period coming to a close, Chemcoma has already started working on some material that will be up for future release. Stay tuned.

Sponsorships
Chemcoma is happy to announce that Jägermeister is now officially on board to sponsor the group! Chemcoma will be included on the newly renovated Jägermusic.com and will be receiving a new batch of Jäger gear personalized with Chemcoma logos and symbols. Check out Chemcoma’s “In Time for Jäger” video on youtube.com. More videos like this will be filmed at future shows so be sure to get in on the action the next time we come around!

We’d also like to give another "thank you: to InTune Guitar Picks for adding Chemcoma to their impressive artist roster and for hooking us up with some sweet, personalized guitar picks.

Hello friends, family and fans!  As many of you have already heard, Matthew has decided to leave the band to persue a masters degree.  Last night he played his last show at Jerilee's and it was nothing short of stellar.  Myself and the rest of Chemcoma wishes Matthew nothing but success and we are going to miss him.

Since Matthew has left, I decided to take this time to introduce myself to all of you.  My name is Steve Schrimsher, but everyone just calls me Steve-O.  I first got hooked up with Chemcoma long before they were Chemcoma.  Cody and I were roommates in college and we became really close.  We would learn how to play some songs on our acoustic guitars and do some vocal harmonies and play for people outside for money (Trust me, when you're in Vincennes, you really don't have anything better to do).  I started to help Cody, Chris, Emily and Matthew when they were involved in another band and we all got along great and we've all been friends since then.  So here's a little bit of history about myself.  I am originally from South Bend, IN and I am 22 years old (Cody is no longer the baby of the family...by 4 days).  My music career began on the drums when I was in 6th grade, and, shortly after, I started to learn how to sing.  Around the time I went to high school, I picked up a guitar and I pretty much deticatied my life to it.  I started to play around with bass guitars right after I got out of college and now I love playing bass.

So that's all that I have for you.  If you have any questions for me or just wanna shoot the shit, just send me a message or add me as a friend.  I'm a pretty easy guy to get along with.  My first show is going to be this coming Saturday, May 24th in Frankfort, IN at The Avenue, so come out and see us, it should be an exciting show.  I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.  See you soon.

If you haven't noticed we have a small selection of silly videos on the page that may brighten your day.

An indie music video is in the works that will hopefully be up within a month.

We are still waiting for submissions for the "ask chemcoma" video segment that we plan to do. Does anyone read our blogs? It's easy. Send us a myspace message including a question for the band with the subject of "ask chemcoma." We'll make a video of ourselves answering it, it will probably be funny, we'll post it on the page, & you will enjoy it. Okey Doke?

We're about to get really busy again with playing shows and we'd love to see you all out again or for the first time.

We are happy to announce that Masher's Media has selected "Lift Me Up" as the soundtrack song for their Video of Week. You can check out the video on the Masher's Media myspace page (Masher's Media) or visit the Masher's Media blog (http://mashersmedia.blogspot.com/). A big shout out to Mike of Masher's Media and Ryan Cooper for the hook-up! Thanks guys!

The "You and Isolation" EP tracks have been sent off to be mastered as of today. We should cross our fingers on having a pre-Christmas CD release! Also, after we receive the mastered tracks we will be updating the songs on the myspace page.

In other news: Chemcoma Gear is now available in the form of fresh, black Chemcoma T-Shirts! The tees are $12 (tax included in price) + any necessary shipping charges. Contact your local Chemcoma rep to make the transaction until we get the online store up and running. There are limited quantities available in Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large so act fast!

Chemcoma is actively booking shows. Keep us in mind if you are putting shows together or know someone who is. Btw, live shows are the best means to score Chemcoma merch & media. Plus, we'd like to hang out with you cats!

We will also be incorporating more video into the myspace page with a segment we'll be calling "Ask Chemcoma." We are encouraging everyone to submit Chemcoma-related questions to the myspace account (with a subject line of "Ask Chemcoma") and we will do our best to tackle every reasonable question in a useful yet comical fashion. I promise that it will be entertaining.

If you haven't already checked out the "Last Footage" video on the video page, I'd recommend doing so...

That's all for now, but check back often, we intend get this ball rollin' faster.

Chemcoma loves you.

We just got back from Detroit. We had 3 tracks mixed by Grant Mohrman (Filter/Celldweller). The EP will be sent off for mastering and duplication very soon, so be sure to pick up your copy when it comes out! We look forward to seeing everyone out at the shows.
