Friends of the Freshmen!

By popular demand... our double cover band, BIG BAND, which is AOF and LE MEU LE PURR onstage at the same time playing a crazy set of covers will be playing on New Year's Eve 2009 at Nicholby's in Ventura. Show will be over 21 and doors are at 10 pm.

We've got a ton of special guests from the local music scene who will be appearing. Check out the flyer and see if you see any familiar names (a few AOF side projects and old bands in the mix).

These BIG BAND shows get better and more insane every time we do it. On New Year's there's no telling what will happen. If you've got no plans for New Years- come hangout with good people and hear some good tunes!

Friends of the Freshmen!

This Friday, December 4 is our last show of the year. It's going down at EPIC in Ventura. All ages. Doors at 7. Also on the bill is Tommy and the High Pilots (featuring Matt from Ludo) and End Transmission (whose new record is awesome!).

Epic is a brand new venue in Ventura- really cool place we think you'll dig.

The address is 2855 Johnson Drive (take the Johnson exit off the 101 Freeway and it's in the Toys R Us Shopping Center). Check it out online at www.epicventura.com

Bring the kids, the folks but come on out and kick off the holidays with us! There will be a few surprises and guests in store- don't miss it!

Also on a subject we can all enjoy or not enjoy I suppose... what the heck happened to MYSPACE... just checked the inbox and it's spam city- I mean one or two is cool but 100s!?! DO I really need to be invited to a Club Night in Boliva?

Also... yes there are touring plans for 2010 and a new AOF TV is currently being worked on... forgive us for slacking!

Friends of the Freshmen!

Thanks to all who came to the New Mexico State Fair- was great to be on the open road again- cool turning a mild mannered fair into a full blown rock show- great great weekend- here's to many more!

So- lot of people asking about what "Big Band" is... here's the deal...

For the past two years we've gotten together with our good friends Le Meu le Purr to celebrate a bunch of our birthdays that happen around the same time including Chris and Owens.

What we do though is pick a ton of covers all sorts from 80s cheese to 90s alternative and play them at the same time... two drummers, two bassists, four guitars. etc... it's the loudest thing you've ever heard and an absolute blast. We get some friend vocalists to come up and rock out- a total party and for the the third year we're doing 3 shows all in our hometown and they are all FREE!

Thursday, Sept. 24 @ Bombay, California St., Ventura, CA.
Friday, Sept. 25 @ Nicholby's, Main St., Ventura, CA.
Saturday, Sept. 26 @ Billy O's, Main St., Ventura, CA.

All shows are over 21 and start late (10 or later). Bring a strong liver and get ready rock!!!!

Friends of the Freshmen!

This Saturday Army of Freshmen will rock the New Mexico State Fair! We're headlining at 9 pm. Gonna be a blast. Our first time in the van in a while- gonna be one fun weekend. We'll be sending the details out via twitter- so make sure you're following us on there www.twitter.com/armyoffreshmen and if ya live in New Mexico- you know where you gotta be come Saturday!

Now for the local news... for those who don't know every year around Owen and Chris' birthday we get together with our good friends Le Mue Le Purr for our BIG BAND... both bands playing a crazy collection of cover songs at the same time! It's something that needs to be seen to be believed. Basically it's one big party and this year we're doing 3 shows in a row all in Ventura.

9/26 Billy O's

All shows start at 10 pm (maybe later) and are over 21 and FREE but a strong liver is suggested.

So that's the latest- much love to all our friends we haven't seen in a while- we miss you all- drop us a line- always good to hear from ya. We'll be hitting the road in the new year so we will see ya soon! Lots of good news on the way.

Friends of the Freshmen!

Heads up to all you folks on the east coast...

Chris and Aaron will be on tour with Phil Cody, a good friend of the freshmen and amazing songwriter. He's playing some small shows on he east coast and Chris and Aaron will be playing with him.
