So I went camping this past weekend at Lake Texoma with all our friends and had a blast!! We stopped at a gas station that not only sold gas but also a wide variety of products such as fishing rods, tackle, watersports equipment, and gund and ammo. Only in TX would you see somethin like that. I had to take pictures! I also put up a new album with some of the pics I took on this trip. We got a bad ass spot at the park, the day was beautiful, went out on a canoe, and got to spend some quality time with my friends! Doesn't get any better!! Here is a video I shot of my husband Don and best friend Debi dancing to Jimi Hendrix' "Fire". I swear these two are twins! Enjoy! :)

Ok, this is one of the most white trash pictures I have ever seen! While the floor was being laid in the master bathroom, the toilet was put in my parents bedroom, right next to the bed! Now, if you have severe bladder issues this could be considered a HUGE plus for home buyers. However, to the general population this rates on the very LOW end of the needs scale when purchasing a house. It is for that reason that the toilet has been returned to its rightful spot. Well, that and the fact that house inspectors generally frown upon those things. Well, it gave us a tremendous laugh and will continue to every time we look at it. Enjoy!!

As alot of you know, I have been spending alot of time helping my parents do alot of renovations on their house to get it ready to put on the market. As with any renovation that is not done in a 30-60 minute segment on HGTV or TLC, it is one thing right after another. You do some simple touch ups in white paint to a window and sudden that white and all the other whites in the room look different and you have to paint it all! Thankfully they are replacing the carpet so we do not have to put down tarps. I finally finished taking down this damn border that was up in the guest room, and it almost all came off in little bitty pieces (YAY ME!) I will NEVER have wallpaper in my house!!! Anyway, this is why I have been away from the PC so much lately, so here are some of the lovely pics. ENJOY!

So my brother in law Santiago was sworn in as a U.S. Citizen, and I got to be there to see it and film it! I have never been to one before and was surprised at how little time it took for the ceremony. Also, it was held in the middle of a local mall! I, personally, think that with all the years that these people have invested in becoming a citizen (and takes YEARS!) they could at least hold it in a better place. In the middle of a speech that was being given, we were hearing pretzels being made and jewelry machines going at the kiosk's all around us. But at least he was sworn in, and in the end that is what really matters! For those who do not know, my brother in law in from Bogota, Colombia. He has been going through the process of beccoming a citizen since 1999 when they got married. Let me disspell a myth right now: you do not become a citizen automatically when you marry an american! There is SOOO much red tape in the process that I never even knew until he started the process. He had so many tests to go through also, and he made a perfect 100 on his cummulative test! After the ceremony we went to lunch and then had a party for him that night with some of his friends. Here are some pics!

I’ve Been Tagged

If you got TAGGED, this is how you play: Once you’ve been tagged you have to write a blog with 10 weird, random facts, habits or goals about yourself. At the end choose 10 (or more) people to be tagged, list their names and why you tagged them. Don’t forget to leave them a comment saying "Tag! You’re It!" and to go read your blog. You cannot tag the person that tagged you, so since you can’t tag me back, let me know when you are done so I can go read your blog.
My blog is up....check it out! ^v^

Here goes Jason!

Weird, random habits or facts about myself:

1. Red is not my natural hair color..It is really like a white blonde

2. I am a tomboy at heart, and love the POWER TOOL!!!

3. When I was a kid I was in gymnastics, and played on a soccer team that was district champions

4. I am a MAJOR fan of rockabilly, both in look and music

5. I can’t, for the life of me, type without looking at the keyboard. I am one of those that does the 2 finger typing, which is a pain in the ASS when taking typing tests. What is strange is that with my 2 fingers I type damn fast, as long as I am typing something already in my head. I don’t do the whole reading while I am typing thing (that would be far to easy for my brain!). So if I misspell something, now you know why :)

6. I was born on my mothers birthday and we look alot alike and act alot alike. I am also alot like my dad too, and it increases the older I get. The whole family has a hard time telling mom and I apart on the phone, even our husbands!

7. My first degree is in computers, and my second is in criminal justice/psychology.

8. I have an incredibly strange ability to retain numbers in my brain. I still remember the address and phone number of the house I grew up in, and I haven’t lived there in 24 years.

9. When I was a kid my sister and I got to spend time in the summers going to bluegrass festivals with my aunt and uncle, because my uncle played in them. That is also where I was introduced to Saturday Night Live (when it was good!), and Benny Hill.

10. My favorite thing to do is travel!!! I love seeing new places and people. I love to go exploring. I like to get off the beaten path and see the culture in the area though, not spend a fortune to go someplace and then spend the whole time shopping! I will do some shopping, but I will look for a local artist or something like that.

Man, that was harder than I thought! I know there are several of you that know most of these, but there are very few that know all of these.

The 10 people I will tag will be:

1. Don  2. Debi  3. Lisa  4. Sharon  5. Kat  6. Kathryn  7. Dru  8. Mel   9. Mike  10. Candice

So, we got some sad news last week. My husbands mother passed away in August. I know some of you are going "wait a minute, why are they just now finding out?"..Well, the short story is that they have a sister they have never met, and she had to find us in order to let us know. She was kind enough to do so, and we are so thankful for that. Their mother was an ill woman unfortunately, so she had no had contact with the kids in years. But she is no longer in any pain, and she is in the arms of the angel. We will be going up to where she is buried to pay our respects to her.

The good news that came of it is that I got to meet my sister in law, or as I call her my new sister. She is young, but has her life so together and is going to go very far. She is engaged to what sounds like a wonderful man, and they are such a cute couple. I can't even imagine having my life that together at her age! She is funny, and beautiful, and smart and she looks like the person that lights up the party when she arrives! The one everyone adores! She was obvously raised by a great family! I am really enjoying getting to know her and can't wait to meet her in person. It is going to be so good for the boys (hubby and his brothers) to meet and talk with her. They can each learn things they didn't know about their mom and so many things. I think it will help tremendously with the grieving process.

Usually I would plant a tree for someone that has passed on. However, I am in an apartment and can't. So for now, we are doing Lavender. It is beautiful, it never stops growing, has a lovely scent, and is theraputic. Once we get to Colorado and get settled into a house, I plan to plant her a tree and have a memorial stone there for her. That way Don can talk to her whenever he wants. Until then I will do the Lavender and a butterflu release for her. Every year I raise and release butterflies, and have always had a special bond with them. This year they will be released for her, so she can be free to fly whereever she wants to.

Most of you do not know, but my brother in law is from Bogata. They got married in 1999, and he has been working to become a citizen ever since then. It is a common misconception in our society that when someone from another country marries an american, they have automatic citizenship. WRONG!!!!! That isn't the way it works at all. There is so much red tape to get through.

But he went yesterday and found out that he made a 100 on his test! It doesn't surprise me though. He graduated Summa, and then got his Masters. They were going to do his ceremony tomorrow, but he has to work and we all want to be there. The agent told him that they will send him a letter and he can request to be in the big one held in the evening in downtown. I think it is on July 4th!

I cannot even begin to describe how proud I am of him! He has overcome so much to get where he is. I can't wait for the partay we are gonna throw for him!! WOOT WOOT!!

If you don't already know this about me, I had gastric bypass surgery several years ago and have lost 150 pounds. Unfortunately, with that came loose skin on several areas of my body. Most areas you do not even see in clothes, but I was always self conscience about my tummy. I looked pregnant! That is hard when you look at the clothes out these days and the fact that almost everything shows every fucking pore you have!! I felt sexy, but not as sexy as I wanted to be. It was my dream to be free of the tummy. I have had a tummy for as long as I can remember and I wanted it gone. I also wanted my boobs put back up where they belong. The girls deserve to be in their rightful place!! I have had ALOT of medical issues in my life, and continue to unfortunately. Although it is getting much better! I knew that getting rid of the tummy would help some of the physical issues I was having, not only the self esteem. So my wonderful husband went with me to interview doctors, and I was recommended to one in Allen that is INCREDIBLE! Not only is he a great doctor, but he is cool as hell!! I am giving him a print of  a picture my sister did of my is regards to my bypass and he is going to hang it in the office.

This wasn't the most difficult surgery I have been though, but it ranks up there. He took off 10 pounds of flesh!! YUCK! It would be going fine, and then go downhill and I would have to go see him or call him. Got much more nauseated with this one then I have ever been before. I suddenly developed this extreme sensitivity to smell. I normally love the clean linen scent and have air fresheners throughout the house, but they had to be turned off when they started making me become ill. Oh man, and one night my husband made tuna!! I thought I was gonna hurl, I swear! He felt so bad, but we didn't think about it. I have a really good sense of smell anyway, just like my dad, but this waas like it was supersonic! Man am I glad thats over.

I am still bandaged up but I go in tomorrow and we will see what he says. When I first get out of the shower and the blood rush there it look bad. But then it calms down. I did get "phantom tummy" for a while. A part of my old tummy that would itch on a regular basis, still itched even after it was gone. So I was itching like mad, but there was nothing to scratch. I have had that before in another surgery, and it sucks! But it could always be worse.

Anyway, it seems to have gotten over the hump finally and I am feeling alot better. I am pretty much standing up straight too. And my boobies are perky too!! YES!!

In all seriousness, I could not have gotten through this without my husband and parents. My husband most of all! He loves that he could make my dream come true for me. Next, we work on one of his dreams!! I'm already gathering the info I need, because we will have to fight the insurance company on it. They have made that clear. Good thing I can be a hound dog bitch when it comes to things like that!! I call it flippin the bitch switch, when I am done with them I will flip it off. But I don't take shit from people, especially insurance companies tthat treat us as though we are all mentally challenged. To me, they are akin to the smarmy car salesman who believes that is you are female and going to school you must be going to beauty school. And you surely can't know anything about cars!! That is when my switch gets flipped, and it aint pretty!! It doesn't happen often because I do not like being angry. I prefer to be happy and laughing. So when it does happen, it isn't pretty. I don't yell, I simply tell them how it is in no uncertain terms. Okay, I admit it I probably raise my voice a little, but not yelling. But we will deal with that little issue if it arises at a later date. Right now I am thinking positive!

So, as usual, I have a million projects going at one time and feeling like I am drowning. It isn't a bad feeling though, strangely enough. Still, I wish I could stick to one project and one only until it was done. HA HA HA HA HA!!!! Yeah, like that will ever fuckin happen! There are just WAY too many things I want to make for that to happen. I just love knitting way too much, and find so many cool patterns that I want to make. It is very relaxing for me. I am selling the scarves I am working on now, except for the skull scarf. That is being made for my best friend, and then I will be making the same one in black/cream for her boyfriend. The baby blanket is for my niece.

After I finish those then I will start making a skully outfit for my future niece or nephew, along with some other punk things for the baby! God, I cannot wait. My mom and dad roll their eyes at the thought of the baby being dressed like that and punked out, but they need to get over it. See me, my brother, and my sister in law all have numerous tattoos. So we are out of the "norm" anyway...whatever the hell that means anyway. We are just dressing the child in what we think is cool. There is not an ounce of girly girl in my sister in law, and I happen to love that! She is gonna be a kick ass mom, and my bro is gonna be a great dad! There is a big part of me that is still a tomboy, and hoping that we either have a boy or a tomboy! I am not all tomboy though, I can be very sexy when I want to be. I actually love being and feeling sexy, but I also love the tomboy side. Luckily for me, my husband loves both sides of me!!

Well, I am off to write another blog. I aam WAY WAY behind.

P.S., I put up a new photo album of my knitting projects if you want to take a look!

Later!
