Wow. I'd have to say I'm even more speechless than I was when I saw Keane. Maroon 5, you. f-ing. rock. There isn't anything else I can say. Last night was ridiculous, insane, and amazing. Alright...now for the recap..haha.
First of all, I'd like to mention how awesome Mohegan Sun is. If you ever have the chance to go there, then DO IT. It's really beautiful, not to mention that there are tons of shops and things to do there(besides gamble). Everything is alive with color and you never run out of things to look at.
Alright. The concert. After finishing dinner(something that definitely isn't note-worthy), my parents and I rushed off to the Arena. After getting patted down/bag searched(something that I don't understand--if you have a gun, you're not going to have it out for them to find) we went into the entry hall. We walked around and finally entered some curtained steps leading to our section of seats. When I walked in, I was amazed. The Arena is HUGE. Man...I forgot how big it was. Last time I was there was a few years ago for Ringo Starr.
The first act up was a young girl I had never heard of named Sara Barielles. I didn't know what to expect, but she was great! I think I have to buy her cd now. I won't go into too much detail though, because there's still a LOT that I have to cover. After she had finished, my mom and I left during intermission for souvenirs. Two problems: A big crowd, and overpriced merch. But oh well...I bought a tour shirt, poster, and keychain for a reasonable price. We then hurried back, because the next group was starting; The Hives.
I had know a little bit about The Hives before I saw them. They're a group of 5 from Sweden, and have a 60's rock kind of feel. Their outfits rock, too. I really liked their performance! They definitely love to perform and they enjoy what they do. I'll definitely think about getting their album.
Okay. I know you've been waiting. Time for the real reason you're reading this blog.
After a long, second intermission, it was time. The screaming began. The lights came up. A giant M appeared, staring you in the face. And Maroon 5's first song of the set started playing; If I Never See Your Face Again. The crown went wild. They are performers. No doubt about it. Soon everybody was singing along and clapping. I also still stand by the fact that Adam has one of the best voices I've ever heard.
They went through a couple of songs, then Adam introduced himself and the rest of the band. He didn't talk long though, because it was time to really get into the music. I want to mention that the stage was SO COOL. With each song the M and the background lights were changing colors in time with the music. There were crazy patterns and all different colors. It was freaking crazy!
Like everyone else, Maroon 5 performed a mixed up combination of titles from their first and second albums. If I can remember correctly, here is a complete list of the songs: If I Never See Your Face Again, Makes Me Wonder, Harder To Breathe, The Sun, Can't Stop, Secret, Shiver, Wake Up Call(My mom's favorite..), Sunday Morning, Won't Go Home Without You(with which Adam gave a very sweet dedication), This Love(of course), Little of Your Time, She Will Be Loved(also of course), and finally, to close the set, the aptly named Sweetest Goodbye. <3
In between their own songs, however, there was a lot more to please the fans. Matt did a drum solo, and Adam played The White Stripes' Icky Thump riff on his guitar, did a really funny monologue on the "F" word, and sang part of a Rolling Stones song(of which the name escaped me).
Ohhhh, and the ending. It went on FOREVER but it was insane. Adam is freakin' incredible on the guitar. Those last few minutes of the concert were wild, to try and put it simply. He and Matt were playing, the lights were going all over, and the crowd just couldn't contain themselves. But eventually the concert was done, and it was time to go.
To beat the crowds, we walked around for a little while(after taking an eternity to get out of the arena hall). I went into a really cool store called Spin Street which had all kinds of music memorabilia, as well as books, cds, and video games. They had a Maroon 5 tour book for sale, which I snatched up immediately.
Overall, it was just fantastic. I know I'll always remember last night, that's for sure. =)

Okay. So Keane is the best band ever. They are amazing. Their style, lyrics, originality...I don't even have words for it.
Last night, I went to their concert at the Fleet Bank Pavillion in Boston. And they rocked. So much.
It was a hot, hot day, and the night certaintly wasn't any different. I walked around the Pavillion center for awhile after dinner, and went to lok at the merchandise booth. I bought a keychain and UTIS-Live tour bok, which I'm very happy with(Still have to find a shirt). At 7:30, Rocco Deluca and his band went on for half an hour before the big performance. They were good, but a bit too loud and not my kind of music. We then had to wait an additional half an hour...
It was 8:35, and time for the show to begin. They started with Atlantic, the first track on their second album(Under The Iron Sea). The crowd started to warm up. Soon, things were in full force. Tom, the lead singer, introduced himself and riled everyone up. He made sure everyone was up and singing and having a good time. They went through a number of great songs, including most of my favorites. Bend and Break, Everybody's Changing, Nothing in My Way, Try Again, Hamburg Song, Put it Behind You, We Might as Welll be Strangers, This Is The Last Time, and, of course, Somewhere Only We Know, were played. Then, Tom spoke about one of his favorite Keane songs, A Bad Dream, and read the poem that inspired it by W.B Yeats. They also played Crystal Ball, Is It Any Wonder, and finally closed with Bedshaped.
Every song was powerful.
The stage screens played different graphics from their second album and war footage for A Bad Dream and Is It Any Wonder, which I really liked. There were flashing lights and screaming fans. The concert was unbelievable and way too fast. I can't believe I was finally able to see Keane live, though. It's a night I'll definitely remember.

WOW so I just realized I haven't put up a new blog in almost a year. Yeah, sorry about that. It's not my fault exciting things only happen in spring. I don't really know what to write about, so I guess I'll just say what's been going on in my life. In other words: Not much. School is ok, I still get awesome grades and see my friends and stuff, but it's sooo boring. It's the same thing day in and day out. -.- And plus, a few of my teachers have REALLY been driving me up the wall. SUCK. =( Let me just say that teachers who AREN'T really certified yet should NOT be teaching a Level 1 Biology class. (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.) Digital Design is still cool to the maxx. It's my saving grace at the end of the day. I've been working on a lot of different projects lately and I keep doing more and more stuff with Photoshop.
So yeah, wasn't that FUN listening to all that boring rambling? You know you love it. I'll just sum up the other stuff that's been going on::
I STILL love anime tons and tons, and I can't wait for Anime Boston coming up next month. I'm also excited for my Sweet Sixteen and the big party I'm going to have. Aand I'm nervous but also excited about getting contacts in two days. ; )

Well, I've decided. I WILL learn how to read and write Japanese someday. My first step is to memorize kana, but it's kinda hard so far..T_T If anyone can help me out in any way, it would be much appreciated!
(I also have a few sentences in kana/kanji that I just can't figure out...if anyone thinks they'd be able to translate, that would be awesome! Just tell me and I'll post them.)

The con was AMAZING.(And also my first ever)
I got up really early to pack and get ready, and at 10 o'clock, me and my mom left for NJ. It took 2 hours to get to Secaucus, and amazingly, we didn't get too lost, even with the confusing NJ signs. All around the expo center I saw all kinds of great costumes. The first costume I recognized was Dejiko from DiGi Charat. I also saw someone do a great job of cosplaying Mamimi from FLCL.(I also saw a Haruko) After we parked, we went in and registered. I picked badge #3, Riza Hawkeye, and I picked Ed and Al for my mom.(lol) Then we picked up some free manga samplers and stuff.(And bought the official con t-shirt)
Soon, we walked into the main room. I saw a girl in a gigantic Ein costume. It was awesome! I also saw TONS of Chi's and military personnel from FMA.(Yay!) There were also lots of Naruto cosplayers. I also saw quite a few Eds.(Again, super yay! =3) We went to get in line for the FMA seiyuu panel. After some waiting, my Aunt Cindy found us. For the Presidential award I won, she got me an FMA pillow and calendar. (So neato!! =) ) After a while, they finally let us in for the panel. We were so up close to the voice actors!!! Vic, Travis, and Caitlin were there. (Caitlin was wearing the most adorable Al hat!!!! I was so jealous)They answered a lot of questions and threw candy at people(lol). And they were hysterical!!! The banter between the three of them was so funny. "Ed" kept saying how he hated Roy and how Roy was into him. And someone asked Travis to say the miniskirt line! They also had Caitlin yell Winry's "You better win, Ed, or I'll kick your ass!!" It was great. Vic told lots of stories. Like how he traded his watch and a Noir lunch box for a fan's official FMA watch. (Also, he told us about one time when Aaron was in the recording box. It was the exact moment he began to record when all they heard was a crash and "help me!" he had fallen back in his chair and gotten wedged between the wall and the chair. Poor Aaron!) They even had this little kid dressed as Dark come up and pose with Vic. After that, they dismissed us in rows of two to get little red tickets to get priority in the autograph line.
I had Aunt Cindy hold our place in line while me and my mom went and looked at all the merchandise. There was so.much.freakin.stuff!!! I went and bought a super cool FMA messenger bag. When we came back, we were much closer up in line. I got out all my stuff to be autographed. I talked with some other fans in the meantime. They loved my magazine I made for english. After an hour and a half of being in line, it was time to meet the VA's! They said you could only get 1 item autographed per person, so be and my mom got me 1 thing each, but Aunt Cindy got 2!(heehee) I showed Travis my mag first and he LOVED it.(I loved his Yankee hat, lol. He was reeallly cute) Then I showed Caitlin. She signed by the only picture of Winry(I can't believe I forgot to put more of her in there!! =/) Then, Vic. He loved it as well. I showed him my watch, heehee. I also got to pose and take pictures with them.(Someting that also wasn't allowed, but....yay!)
After that, we went shopping. I bought a ton!!!!! I got an Al pin, Ed,Al,Roy,and Winry keychains, a plushie Riza keychain,(all chibi), a Winry play arts figure, and a Chi figure. I also sot 2 free posters. There was so much other stuff I wanted to get!!! They had the most adorable FLCL t-shirt, as well as a goldmine of other FMA stuff. They also had Japanese jewlery and kimonos, and yaoi and doujinshi.
Last was "Fullmetal Fantasy" We waited in line for a while(after a really funny lesson on how to keep the line from the staff..lol) My aunt Cindy got us pretzels and my mom got us popcorn and soda. After that, she had to leave. She gave me her Roy badge. Eventually, we filled into Panel 1. We were pretty up close. Vic and Caitlin were there, but no Travis! Soon it was time for the show. It was a 15 minute live action movie made entirely by Vic.
~~Spoilers~~He played a (super funny) fanboy, who after ordering the official FMA watch, turns into Ed! When he fell asleep, the watch glowed and he woke up with Ed's hair! He runs out into the city streets, and goes to a doctor. There, no one believes him and he runs into Envy. Then he walks around all sad(we were all "aww"ing..lol) He sees Armstrong(that was HYSTERICAL) and Scar, and some other characters. Then he sees Winry(Caitlin cosplayed as her). She throws a wrench at him. xD Later, he's out in the rain when he becomes surrounded by most of the homunculi, Scar, Psiren, and some others. He bumps into "Al"(Funmations lifesize model...It was so cool!!!!!!) He remembers what he saw Ed do on TV, and claps his hands to do his famous alchemy. The fanboy wakes up and runs to his front door. He sees the package from his dream. He thanks the not caring UPS guy like he dreamt, and the last shothis a close up of the UPS guy's face. When he takes off his sunglasses, you see the red eyes. It's Scar. ~~End spoilers~~
The movie was exclusive to conventions..I was so glad I got to see it! (The sound was really bad, though) I thought it was awesome that they show the fanboy scenes in Vic's house!! (It was prettyful) At the end they played "Ready! Steady! Go!" for the credits, and everyone sang along. (Including me) After the movie, Vic answered some questions. I was really sad there was no Roy in the film. He couldn't make it out there to be in it. It took only 2 days to film(unbelievably!) and the 2 most expensive parts were the UPS warehouse from the intro and the $6,000 rain machine.(He used it for only $600!) Vic also did all the editing and sound himself. Also, the wrench Cailtin threw was cardboard...lol. Then, Vic showed the outtakes. They were so funny!!! Caitlin kept missing Vic when she threw the "wrench". Also, one extra kept messing up his line. I also got some behind the scenes info on how he made it.
So then, it was time to leave. I didn't get to do a lot of what I wanted to, but I did all my priorities. So we left the con and after another look at some great costumes, we got into the car and headed home. (My mom got me a maple donut at Dunkin Donuts...lol) It was the best day of my life =D Next time I'm cosplaying!!!

Current mood: peaceful
Well, my dad had a great gallery show yesterday. It had the art of some relatively popular guy from the city(I was suprised I hadn't heard of him) There were fresh flowers(although our order got mixed up with a church's...that was wonderful), gourmet food, and best of all, some of my family came! It was so much fun hanging out with them. I even saw scooter boy! (He was mowing the lawn though. )
Now, for the weird part.
There were these two girls, one with crutches. I think they were the artist's nieces or something. They just walked around and stuff. I was at the computer and occasionally kinda "spyed" on them. I found out the girl had crutches b/c she hurt her leg playing basketball. So the one w/ the leg problem comes over to me and notices my FMA manga on my dad's desk. It turns out that she loves it too, as well as some other anime and manga. She had this crazy lisp thing...it was soo hard to understand her. She's like, "Do you like ninjahgrgn?"(lol) So I just said "Never heard of it" It turns out she was saying Naruto O-o Then she sees my FMA shirt and says "Can I have your shirt?" I was stunned/confused there for a secons, so I just laughed. My aunt was in the room since I was talking to her and her friend, so they were just watching us. All of a sudden, the girl(the one with the crutches, remember) asks what time it is and takes out a bottle of pills. Then, (she must have seen it on my bag), she says to me "I'll give you my medicine for my bottle of pills." I thought to my self "What the f--k??" I just laughed again. My aunt said to her "I don't think so" I don't want to know what those pills were for... xD Luckily right after their dad told them they had to go for dinner. Me, my aunt, and her friend just stood in silence with a dazed look. I just said "What was that...?" Then, I ran into the other room and told Melissa(my cousin) the story. She cracked up, and so did I. I told my other aunt too.
My dad's gallery is like a freak show or something...
(That was a loong entry... )
