Thanks to the indie pop/rock know-how of Tweefort Productions, Two Boots will be soggy with swagger tonight. Welcome, a Hamden trio whose songs boast an impressive hooks-per-minute rate, will swoop you into their hypercolored electro-pop net. Inclined Plane, of Hartford, will swirl you into their trippy fantasy world of fuzzy vocals, random instruments and atmospheric tones. The Tyler Trudeau Attempt (featuring regular Weekly contributor Brian LaRue, pictured), will show you why the world will always need more smartly written, non-trendy three-minute pop songs. Bring your dancing Chucks. Two Boots, 277 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport. 10 p.m. $5. (203) 331-1377, www.twobootsbridgeport.com

Thanks so much to James Velvet & Rick Allison from WPLR's Local Band Show - http://www.thelocalbandsshow.com/Site/LBS.html

They have been playing a bunch of new songs off our new EP each week and we really appreciate that! As if that wasn't enough kindness thrown our way, they even listed our new EP among their faves of the year!!!

From the New Haven Advocate's "
standout CDs from Connecticut bands in 2008"

-We asked a few locally-loyal radio DJs to share some of their favorite Connecticut band releases of this year. Here's a taste. To hear their complete picks, tune in to their year-end, best-of shows as noted.

Welcome, Three Judges (http://www.myspace.com/welcomect). Great musicianship, good humor and an evolved world view. No guitars.

THANKS GUYS!!!

Welcome
, Three Judges (welcomemusic.net). On this eight-song EP and their third since 2005, Welcome delivers what we've come to expect: indie-pop enthusiasm, buzzy synths, boy-girl vocal harmonies, bursts of processed bass, songs that spill out as a string of melodic passages rather than a trad verse-chorus-verse pattern, schoolyard chants, reflections on awkward childhoods and unlikely adulthoods (whew!). They've even re-recorded poppy pep-talk "Extra Effort," first heard on a 2005 EP. Welcome excel at being Welcome, and they keep improving at it. This is their liveliest recording yet and the melodies are more frequently soaring than sing-songy, which helps the songs sound more distinct. While earlier recordings saw Welcome going into cutesy territory, here they draw the line at simply playful and fun. Welcome's always seemed comfortable in their sound and they keep finding new ways to settle in further.

hello old friends. You can check out our new song about haircuts and technology on our myspace.

it's called Lifetouch.

Our new CD "3 Judges" is pretty darn done. We should have something in the early fall. All sorts of things are slowing us down...but we think it will be worth the wait.

2 shows coming up in New Haven in the next few weeks.

This Saturday August 23rd its the "End of Summer Dance Your Face Off Rock Show" at Cafe Nine (250 STATE STREET, NEW HAVEN, CT 06511)

The Summer Party to end all Summer Parties.... Come see EULA, Kid Ginseng (tom tom club's DJ), Electric Bucket, Saint Bernadette, and WELCOME rock your pants off, and DJ You B spinnin' his shit to dance your face off.
Cost : $5 - we literally go on at 8:45pm. You'll have to skip Raymond reruns and get moving out the house.

We are planning on burning some preview discs that we will give to you of some of the new songs. Totally free if we see you dancing during our set. Or you ask nicely.
