Say WHAT?! Yes, yes, it's all true. Our goofy little splatter-fart has now achieved such a level of artistic legitimacy that I went ahead and cancelled our table at the Copenhagen summit (it would've felt like MURDER PARTY overkill right now, dontcha think?)
We are so proud and so delighted (and so annoyed that we can't afford to fly out to see the wonderment unfold) to share the news that the renowned INSURGO THEATER MOVEMENT of Las Vegas is launching a live stage production of MURDER PARTY!
New cast, new city, new medium...same Halloween shenanigans!
Check the press release below and if you're one of our Las Vegas pals, you gotta go check it out so we can live vicariously through you...

702-369-3692 www.insurgotheater.orgHoly shit, is that cool or what?! (Oh, the press release is done--it's me again.) Special thanks to John and Scott with Insurgo...who have been tenaciously whipping this production into shape for some time now. With any luck, they can take this sucker on the road. Like Cats except with cocaine and buttfucking. And without any cats. (Though they did choose to include Hellhammer the Half-Dingo Dog....in a live show? Lordy, that's brave.) Break a leg, all y'all, and lotsa love! P.S. Coming soon: Halloween pics of M.P. fans done up in costume...got some good ones this year!

Hell yeah, Andrew O'Hehir... http://www.salon.com/entertainment/movies/beyond_the_multiplex/index.html?story=/ent/movies/btm/feature/2009/10/29/halloweenThis cheers me up, especially considering my Halloween will be slightly more lame this year since I've come down with the swine flu. Or something equally nasty. Or...maybe it's just a little cough and I'm a big fat wimp but the point is that I already feel better seeing our goofy little movie on the same list as Hardware. (Oh, Hardware, how I love you...they just don't chop people in half with automatic doors anymore, do they...?) Thanks for that, Mr. O'Hehir, and thanks to Joy for the heads up... And don't forget folks: anyone with Murder Party-inspired costumes this year, be sure and take pictures and send 'em in. I'm not saying our whole year revolves around it, but....indeed our whole year revolves around it. Happy Halloween!!

Ahh... The air that pushes the empty airplane bottles and Cheetos bags down the sidewalk is a little bit...crisper. The shadows that pool around the uncollected dog turds are...deeper, somehow. Spookier.
The blurty honks of the dollar vans suggest a certain eerie menace and the everpresent blunt stink now carries a ghostly tinge. All this can mean only one thing...oh yes, it's Halloween Season in Brooklyn! And for all of us Murder Party people, it's our favorite time of year! Time to break out the Universal Monster Classics, time to roast some pumpkin seeds, time to take a scumbag realtor to small claims court. I guess that last one isn't technically Halloween-specific, it's just what I've been up to lately...word to the wise, my friends in Kings County, steer clear of Your Choice Realty Group, unless "your choice" is to get fisted for your cash deposit on an apartment you never take possession of because of slippery unreasonable conditions applied after certain things are signed--- You know what? Let's forget all that. After all, this is not the time to stew on why certain people in this world are bastards. No, no...this is a time for graveyard lurking and cape wearing! For pumpkin carving and scarecrow stuffing! And as we get closer to this year's costume parties, indeed, this is the time for cardboard-knight-suit building! Check out our pics section and you'll see that last year we saw Murder Party inspired costumes from Toronto to Austin, from Sacramento to Baltimore and all places varied and scaried in between! We saw many a Brown Knight and even some Lexis and Williams in there, too! (No Wolfmelts, though? *sniffle* Mayyyybe this year. *sad trombone sound*) So we'd like to encourage all the Murder Party fans out there to pick their favorite character and become them this All Hallows Eve! Hell--we'd like to encourage any Murder Party haters as well! It could go like this: "What are you supposed to be?" "I'm a guy from the worst movie ever made." (dismissive jack-off gesture) "Irony! Right on!" (high five) See? It could be awesome for everyone! Take some snaps of yourself as any Murder Party dude or lady and send them to us here so we can include you in the ever-expanding circle of M.P. love and brag about it. There's no contest or anything, cause everyone's a winner here, and the prize is knowing you did the right thing when it would've been so easy not to. We hope this year has been good to you all and may the rest of it steer clear of the toilet as well. Happy Halloween and lotsa love, M.P.

This could almost be a thing like Capote and Infamous, or Volcano and Dante's Peak, or Armageddon and Deep Impact...
In the very same week that saw the firecracker debut of Chris Sharp's little lady Alexandra...we are now happy to announce the release of another brand new human being who is also (suspiciously) very very cute!
Proud parents Paul (Murder Party's doomed vampire photographer) and Liz introduced Henry Clark Goldblatt to standing-room only crowds today and the critical response was unanimous: "One excellent little fella!"
Insiders were quick to point out that while Henry was the second Murder Party baby to be born this week, development on both projects had begun almost simultaneously and the order of release dates was determined by obscure behind-the-scenes OBGYN negotiations. Despite their surface similarities (perfect features, beaming parents, etc.), Alexandra and Henry are actually quite distinct from one another--one of the classical Shaolin style and the other more of a spirited street brawler--which should prove very exciting if (when) they are forced to do battle in the Babydome.
Lots of love to Paul and Liz and Henry.

Congratulations to M.P. star/producer Chris Sharp and his badassy production partner Lorna on the recent release of their prestigious joint venture: a beautiful baby girl named Alexandra!
Although Alexandra was delivered fully swaddled in cardboard and tied to a swivel chair, her current IMDB rating is in the high 9's and climbing, with wall-to-wall raves on the message boards. Critics are calling her "insanely, like FREAKISHLY cute" and "holy shit adorable", and industry watchers are saying that a sequel is all but inevitable. For now though, the proud execs are just content to cuddle and dote on their little indie that could and bask in the righteous box office numbers.
We love them lots.

Do ya have fancy cable and get The Sundance Channel? Or maybe you know some fancy people who do? Well then you should definately check out GRETCHEN, directed by our pal Steve Collins, tonight at 10pm and other times throughout the month. It's funny and sweet and sad and Macon is in it wearing the worst wig ever. We absolutely love this movie. http://www.sundancechannel.com/films/500332604

I guess I just assumed that we were banned for life from Williamsburg but, hmm, maybe not.... MURDER PARTY screens next Wednesday, March 11th, at 8:50 pm as part of the CHOICE FILM SHOWCASE at 303 Grand (located at 303 Grand St., Brooklyn, natch), a space described as " a revolving storefront...the newest and most unique retail rental space in Brooklyn." (In my mind I imagine something like an avant art botique crossed with Optimus Prime. If I am disappointed in this when I show up, there will be a scene.) We're very happy to be paired with the short film IRISH TWINS, which sounds awesome, not to mention a whole day's worth of worthwhile filmic entertainment. Thanks to Paul Cannon who curated the show and invited our goofy lil' movie to participate! Check out the website below for more info and we really hope to see all of our New York buddies there! (Word on the street is free beer and cupcakes, so, you know, fuck it...) http://www.303grandnyc.com/post.php?ref=upcoming&id=9 Also, since it's been a while since last we jawed, but let's all give a hearty "Hooray for Dads!" to our very own Paul "Vampire Pants" Goldblatt and Chris "Brown Knight" Sharp who are both about a month away from having their first kids!! (Yes, that's right, Paul and Chris are actually having the children themselves. Out of their butts.) No, of course not. Their lovely wives Liz and Lorna are doing all the heavy lifting on this one...all these two bums did was forget to jimmy up. Nice work, animals. All the same, I know they will both be great fathers and wish them and their soon-to-be-expanded families all the very best. Lotsa love, everybody.

It's official: cardboard is the new cashmere!
(Er...I dunno, was cashmere the hot thing recently? I just wanted an alliteration, I guess...)
First, we get the news that Chris Sharp, star and producer of Murder Party, has won the award for Best Actor at the Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Film Festival!
http://rojosangre.quintadimension.com/noticias/viewnews.cgi?newsid1225970883,78070,
International red blood, y'all! Thanks to BARS and congratulations to Chris! (He just wanted to party!)
And then, the obviously culture-savvy blogger Tessa over at Spill.Com saw fit to include Chris's iconic Brown Knight outfit on her list/contest of Best Halloween Movie Costumes....and sonofabitch, HE WON!! (Beating out such heavy-hitters as Donnie Darko and Daniel from The Karate Kid, no less!)
http://my.spill.com/profiles/blog/show?id=947994:BlogPost:660684
Thanks, Tess & Spill!
And as if to validate Tessa's conclusion and to prove that a thirty-something man in an awkward suit of cardboard armor is not only NOT a hopeless dork but in all likelihood one very cool cat....check out all these Halloween pics we received from M.P. fans around the country!
Like Matt & Raina here from Rhode Island...the B.K. may be crafty but I bet Tank Girl would whoop his ass.

Or Brooke from Philly, doing the look!

Ben from Valdosta, GA, looks ready for single combat!

Whereas Nick from Vermont looks like he's having a rough one.

Ryan and lady friend from Harrisburg, PA, cleverly take the Brown Knight concept to its next logical step...

Hmm...B.K. vs. Link? Link has arrows, B.K. has social anxiety...I gotta go with Link. (Siblings Jason & Katie Sturdevant here, from Portland, OR.)

Mel C. from Baltimore shows Lexi some love!

And here's Mel's sweetheart Rob!

And some homies from up Toronto way! Here's Regan, Brendan, and Cassie with a William/Brown Knight/Lexi three way...

And finally here's Skyler from Sacramento, CA, experimenting with crude rear-projection technology...

Oh! And one more! Here is Alanna Baker giving the M.P. salute! (Thanks Marcus & Shelby!)

Excellent work everyone! I know you probably had to endure a lot of "What the fuck are you supposed to be?" and "Galactus is purple, y'know" and all of us here at M.P. salute you for your efforts and thank you for the support. Hope Halloween was a blast for everyone and hope to see even more M.P. costumes next year! (Can I get a Hellhammer, maybe?)
Lotsa love.
