My 7-year-old daughter recently asked me, "When you are a grown-up, do you have to have a Myspace page?"  I promptly said, "Yes, yes it is an absolute requirement to be a grown-up."  LOL, not really.  Then I started thinking about how often I log on to Myspace, definitely more than once a day.  I have even thought about changing my settings so that no one can see the ONLINE NOW because if I'm working, chances are I'm logged in for 10 hours straight.  I've got to see if anyone has posted new pictures, new blogs or a new status.  It's so much easier now that you can see all of this info in the subscriptions! I also became dissatisfied with only having one song at a time on my page, so I had to build a playlist which has to be checked often to make sure none of the songs have stopped working.  There is also the agonizing decision with every FRIEND REQUEST that I receive.  It's so exciting to log in and see that alert, but it's usually some weirdo or musician that I never plan to see, so if I have added you as a friend you should feel privileged, even though some of you are weirdos. HAHAHA .  It's amazing what you can learn about people from their surveys posted in the bulletin board, too!

A couple of months ago it appeared that my Myspace page had been deleted.  It took a few hours after contacting tech support to get it back, but during that time I thought I was going to have an anxiety attack!!  All of that work on my layout, the photos I had uploaded, blogs, etc. were gone!  Perhaps I need to start a MA group--Myspace Anonymous.

Myspace isn't my only internet addiction.  Below are a couple of newer ones.  Computer and high-speed internet, please don't fail me!

http://mtsrool.blogspot.com/ (This addiction has led to me locating other blogs which I have to read on a regular basis, then check the blog favorites on those blogs also).

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1081897584 (This is where I will do all of my movie quizzes and gift giving so as not to slow down my Myspace page anymore than I already have with all of the crap I keep on it).

Okay, I have to go now and get a life.

Please don't stop the music!   I can't believe it has been 20 years since I turned 16! 1988-89 were big years, the most significant of the teen years for me.  Music was such a huge part of life back then, so I created a playlist of some of my favorite songs from age 16 for your enjoyment this whole month! I don't remember being 16 in great detail, but a lot of memories are associated with songs.  It was a great year of hair bands with awesome eye makeup and silly girl songs. I have to mention an awesome movie soundtrack. I still love the music from the movie The Lost Boys. Adrienne and I must have watched that movie 100 times.

Where are they now? Some artists from the late 80's are still going strong, working for good causes around the world while some have disappeared.  I'm hoping Bret Michaels has finally found true love after watching Rock of Love 2.  I still haven't gotten over the fact that my mom wouldn't let me go to the Poison concert in 1989. I also still think Bret looks good with eyeliner. Terresa and I did go to the Richard Marx concert and I went backstage, only to be disappointed by how much shorter Richard was than me.  Apparently George Michael has finished up his community service as he can currently be seen on the show Eli Stone. Some have sadly passed on, like the lead singer of INXS.  When I was 16 I never dreamed that Jon Bon Jovi's biggest fan would actually be his neighbor in New Jersey someday.   I even have a friend with a strong connection to Def Leppard. Maybe Patrick Swayze didn't become superfamous for his singing, but how sad to hear that he has cancer. Guns N' Roses has been planning to release a new CD for years, so where in the heck is it?

For the sake of documentation after I have deleted my tribute to the late 80's playlist on my Myspace page, here's a list of songs (in no particular order) that were awesome, stupid, sweet, or just somehow affected me 20 years ago.

1.  Aerosmith:  Angel.

2.  Gloria Estefan:  Anything for You.

3.  White Lion:  Wait.

4.  INXS:  Devil Inside.

5.  George Michael:  Faith.

6.  Whitney Houston:  Where Do Broken Hearts Go?

7.  Poison:  Every Rose Has Its Thorn.

8.  Living Colour:  Cult of Personality.

9.  Guns N' Roses:  Welcome to the Jungle.

10. Escape Club:  Wild, Wild West

11. Bobby McFerrin:  Don't Worry Be Happy.

12. Debbie Gibson:  Lost in Your Eyes.

13.  Bon Jovi:  Born to Be My Baby.

14.  Def Leppard:  Love Bites.

15.  UB40:  Red Red Wine.

16.  Richard Marx:  Hold on to the Nights.

17.  Beach Boys:  Kokomo.

18.  Expose:  Seasons Change.

19.  Belinda Carlisle:  I Get Weak.

20.  U2:  Desire.

21.  Paula Abdul:  Straight Up.

22.  Rick Astley:  Together Forever.

23.  Tiffany:  I Think We're Alone Now.

24.  Whitesnake:  Is This Love?

25.  Bangles:  Hazy Shade of Winter.

26.  Patrick Swayze:  She's Like the Wind.

27.  Terence Trent D'Arby:  Sign Your Name.

28.  Motley Crue:  Shout at the Devil.

29.  Metallica:  One.

30.  Lost Boys Soundtrack, especially Cry Little Sister by Gerard McCann.

Serious boredom has set in regarding my work this year. I have felt trapped to the computer 40 hours a week and started looking around for anything slightly more interesting in town to do. Most people think you have it made when you work at home, but I guess anything gets boring and like torture after awhile.  I have come to the conclusion that I probably just need a break (or to win the Colorado lottery. It’s up to like 275 million right now)!!  I need to continue to work at home to be here for the kids. After today I don’t have to work again until April 16th!!!  I haven’t had decent break from work since we moved a year ago. I’m looking forward to skiing 6 days next week and then a trip to Oklahoma for a week, then driving back and getting Jay’s Jeep fixed up for the Jeep trails this summer!!!

I’m sure I’ll be on checking Myspace and ColoradoGuy.com sometimes over the next couple of weeks, and hopefully I find something interesting to say at my real blog at http://mtsrool.blogspot.com/

It looks like the Wilson's will be moving near Mt. Wilson and Wilson Peak soon!!  The original plan was to live by Pikes Peak, but my husband applied for his dream job in Telluride first and got the job.   We are looking forward to our new adventure and major lifestyle changes.  Maybe the reality of it won't hit me until the moving truck is pulling out of the driveway.  I can't wait to be hiking, biking, 4-wheeling, and eventually skiing in the San Juans!

Current mood:  thankful

Has it really been 15 years since December 14, 1991?  How is it possible that I am old enough to have been married for this long?  Most of the time I still feel like that young kid that fell in love and got married at 19.

I was 18 and still a senior in high school when we met.  I resisted dating Jay at first because he was in the Marines and only home on leave once or twice a year.  I finally gave in and our first date was after our best friends' wedding.  Jay was the best man and I was the maid of honor.  That was June 1990.  He was able to come home on leave one more time before being shipped off to the Middle East to wait in the desert for months for Desert Storm to begin.  I wrote a letter to Jay *every day* and sometimes two a day.  We didn't see each other for eight months, but when Jay did get back, he proposed and we got married in December later that year.

We've never had any major marital problems to speak of.  We worked together through having 3 kids, the infant years and the struggles of college and changing careers.  Jay was exceptionally supportive when I experienced postpartum depression after the birth of our second child.  That is a time that really stands out in my mind of what an outstanding Godly man that Jay is because that was a rough few months.

I look forward to many, many more years together.  I can't imagine my life without Jay.  I suppose this is a virtual greeting card of sorts that I am sharing with whoever wants to read it.

Happy Anniversary Jay!

I love you~~LISA
