It's a massive FREE night in Brixton with hotly tipped MORTON VALENCE headlining, plus THE LOST CAVALRY (feat. Fanfarlo guitarist), hip hop sensation LADY LYKEZ, plus underground-no-budget movies by FLIXATION and VIC LAMBRUSCO'S comedy and cabaret hour backed by a full bill of fun-lovin' hard drinkin' DJs.

MORTON VALENCE
Serving up a full-fat slices of hook-rich electro-pop soaked in Cabaret-era decadence with a sensational live show to match, we're delighted to host the mighty Morton Valence before they embark on their European tour. The band's debut album, 'Bob and Veronica Ride Again' has picked up rave reviews, so make sure you get down to Brixton for this one!
"A rich treasure trove of songs" **** Q Magazine
"alluring and seductive" **** Uncut
"Spectacular" Drowned in Sound
"a full fat slice of hook rich electro-pop" BBC
"One of the year's loveliest albums" Artrocker

THE LOST CAVALRY
A new project by Mark West, the former guitarist from FANFARLO, we've been loving the beautiful indie/folk sounds of this great new band.
"Smiths and early Travis-like guitar pop" Time Out

LADY LYKEZ
An exciting young Hip Hop/Grime UK female artist with a rising reputation, Lady Lykez appeared on the London Urban Collective III ATL album ('rough edged grime and hip-hop with often wise and witty wordplay' - DJ magazine) before storming the notorious Club Apache open mic night in Atlanta, USA.
She recently completed an album in Mali, Africa with Akala, Bashy, Kele Le Roc, Silverstone for 'Routes to Rootz' funded by Bigga Fish and she's now back in the UK and ready to showcase her unique sound, "echoing the distinctive UK take of an artist like Dizzee Rascal mixed with the vocal dexterity and off kilter song structures of Missy Elliot."

NEW! On the top floor: film screenings all night plus cabaret:

FLIXATION
Get on the top floor with FLIXATION for no-budget underground cinema, video mashup, digital craft, amateur film Art, performance and music.. Featuring the international premiere of a new performance by infamous Duncan Reekie (Exploding Cinema). Also new work by infectious Clive Shaw (MyEyeysMyEyes) and irate Caroline Kennedy (Exploding Cinema). The compere will be the imperceptible Ray Beam and on the wheels of steel the notorious DJ Tar Baby. If you have any work you'd like to show or a performance you'd like to do - contact Duncan on 07929876301 or email Flixation

EDITOR (urban75)
An ale-fuelled onslaught of ska, punk, rock'n'roll, big band, rockabilly, Mrs Mills & Liberace in a floor stomping package proving that drinking'n'DJing can be a perilous trade.

NIPSLA (Falling over studios)
Packing more pop than a Rice Krispies factory, Nipsla's DJ bag is a veritable jumble sale of joy, overflowing with indie, dance, electro and party tunes.

LANG & LOPEZ (The Actionettes)
A veritable platter splatter of 50s, 60s, Motown and more vital tunes from the external linkActionettes' very own Glamour Queens of Vintage Vinyl.

BOBBY BAUHAUS (charcoal soul) More mysterious than Robert Smith's eyeliner bag, Bobby gets dancefloors rocking with quirky, darkside indie-pop and kohl-smudging breakbeats.

OFFLINE INFO:

"Like someone's friendly house party, opened up for the general public....Entertaining, friendly, and free" - Londonist.  "Brilliant" Time Out.

Offline is a free club night put on by folks from the community website urban75.com. The site first started as anti-road protest/campaigning site in the mid 1990s and has grown to become a huge community website (45,000 members) that is totally non profit with no crappy adverts or corporate stuff.

Our events mix up live acts, comedy, poetry, DJs, performance, documentary screenings  - and whatever else takes our fancy - and are always free.

Despite a budget of zero, our club nights have attracted some fantastic acts, including top comic ROB NEWMAN (Newman & Baddiel), STEWART LEE and RICHARD HERRING (TV's 'Lee & Herring' show), JOSIE LONG, HOWARD MARKS ("Mr Nice"), SHAZIA MIRZA, ROBIN INCE, JOHN HEGLEY, Mercury Prize nominees THE PORTICO QUARTET, DARREN HAYMAN (Hefner) SIMON DONALD (Viz), BBC6 DJ/new wave star TOM ROBINSON (TRB), JIM BOB (Carter USM), TV SMITH (the Adverts), THE THIRST and GINA BIRCH (The Raincoats).

Yes, Finland! We're all going to screen at the >>The Cable Factory: Five hectares of culture<< Program is split into three sections each selected and presented by the Flixi three. Oliver Whitehead deserves a medal for wanting all of us there, supporting us and imagining the Finns are ready for us. We can't wait, Helsinki looks ace - albeit only three hours of daylight, so it may not look like much at all - I've checked out the record shops etc and it's looking interesting on that front too! Full program will be posted when we get our jet-setting butts in line.

Don't despair tho! We're back at the Horse Hospital for our last screening night of the 2008. Full details to come (it's an all-new program, we're not slacking off!), but it's Saturday 6th December, 8pm

Oh God, not again...making a short film - (haven't started yet) - for our show and left it til the last minute. A terapist would probably say I'm expecting to fail. But what the fۥk would they know, in fact, they and their tricks are the on the receiving end of my film.. Along with TV hypnotists... Who are one and the same, right?
Yeah, the enemy! Along with anyone, yes, anyone who is involved in CELEBRATING "the events of May 68".... Yes! All of you are the ENEMY too. And will all be including in the little film I'm making. ALLL of them in a little film with a BIG heart!
Come and see the astonishing results, this saturday at the HORSE HOSPITAL, alongside other soon-to-be classics...
