Folks,

I just wanted to let everyone know that The Unrehearsed are a couple friends of mine and aren't signed to Simian. The cover is beautiful and we thought it'd be fun to share it with you. If you like this, check out South.

Cheers,

Simian

Folks,

Universal Freak Out, the new record from Puny Human is out now on Small Stone Records. It is a triumphant return, for those of you familiar with them, that also takes the band in new directions. Truly their best record yet. We can't recommend it enough, nor can we stop listening to it.

You can purchase it on iTunes as well as hear samples of the record on Smallstone.com.

Enjoy!

Hello Folks,

I just wanted to give a nod and a wink to Christopher Lyles who designed the Simian Records logo and the beautiful painting that adorns our Myspace background.

You can check out more of his work at http://www.christopherlyles.com/

He is an incredible artist. Keep a look out for any shows that he may be doing and maybe you too can snatch up a piece.

Cheers,

Heloise & The Savoir Faire to release "Trash, Rats and Microphones" on Simian Records
October 11, 2007, 12:00 am

New York's electro-rock outfit Heloise & The Savior Faire are gearing up to release their new album Trash, Rats and Microphones this spring via Simian Records (Elijah Wood's new label and joint-venture with Yep Roc Records). Heloise & The Savior Faire will showcase new material at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York on October 18 at the Yep Roc CMJ showcase and October 19 at the Yep Roc 10th Anniversary Party.

With a live show described by Disorder Magazine as a "multi-orgasmic experience with heels on," Heloise & The Savior Faire have gained popularity in the UK after making their TV debut on The Graham Norton Show. Encapsulating all 80's pop fetishes, the band is fronted by the charismatic Heloise Williams and backed by two electrifying dancers (Joe Shepard and Sara Sweet Rabidoux) as well as a full band (James Bellizia on guitar, Like Hughett on drums and Jason Diamond on bass). The Times UK has described them as "somewhere between Goldfrapp and The Scissor Sisters."

Heloise & The Savior Faire are currently putting the finishing touches on their Simian debut. Self-produced and engineered by Andrew Schneider at Translator Studios, Trash, Rats and Microphones captures the energy, sexuality and humor of the live show. The album also features guest vocals by Debbie Harry who recently called Heloise & The Savior Faire her favorite underground band in The New York Times Style Magazine. Harry is featured on the songs "Canadian Changs" and "Downtown."

When asked about her collaboration with Harry, Heloise says, "I still can't believe it happened. She came to a show in New York and my friend Todd said, you'll never guess who wants to meet you and I had no idea, no clue whatsoever. When we were introduced, she said we reminded her of her early days. We began hanging out on a social level and talking about writing together for her new CD. Unfortunately that never happened, but when I went into the studio, I asked if she would be a guest vocalist. She was amazing and really sexed up the songs!"

National tour dates will be announced soon.

Hello Folks,

It has been a long time indeed since we've traversed the Myspace landscape. This is largely due to getting properly busy with moving forward with the label and starting and finishing the recording of Heloise and the Savoir Faire's debut record, Trash, Rats, and Microphones!

We are working on booking Heloise shows in Los Angeles for the end of the year, so keep your eyes and ears open for more information as we finalize those dates. Did any of you make it to their CMJ shows? Let us know.

We didn't disappear, we were simply working hard in the lab making beautiful concoctions for you to enjoy.

Thanks for hanging in there.
