Steve Vaile's performances have been given in rock festivals, concert halls and even on a 65-foot schooner to an audience of Humpback whales and dolphins in Maui. C P 2009 Steve Vaile International ASCAP. In Maui he met film producer John Perry while playing his guitar by a stream in the Iao Valley. John and partner, Denise were filming a 'Save The Whales' film. John and Denise were invited to our recording studio to hear the music we were writing and recording. We became friends and did a live concert by placing a friend's white grand piano on the deck of the 65 schooner, 'The Searunner', for John Perry's film. The shoot was broadcast with underwater speakers and hydrophones to the whales and dolphins and we could hear the whales and dolphins as we were playing the music via headphones.
In Maui we worked with Joan Macintyre, author of the book "Minds In The Water' and the song 'Minds In The Water' is dedicated to her work. Our team included Dr. John Lilly, whose advanced work with our dolphin/ human relationship is greatly appreciated. 'Minds In The Water' is a selection from Steve Vaile's CD 'Butterfly' available at CD Baby: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/vaile2 or at iTunes. The film content was shot and produced by John Perry Studios circa 1977 with 16mm film prior to HD format's availability. "We went out and shot on-board the schooner live and used underwater footage, helicopter or hydrofoils for capturing our concert's live over the multi-day event." Then our project moved to Los Angeles for post-production and recording at Malcom Cecil's Studio in Santa Monica (Stevie Wonder's former producer) and many concerts included the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium with Paul Horn. The film's intent was to offer a "Save The Whales" opportunity Internationally to preserve whales for our future.

From Pacific Oncology Cancer Foundation in Portland, Oregon:

The Power of Music

Music is a very powerful way to reach children, adolescents, and adults in the therapeutic setting and provides a unique way for people to express their feelings. Music reaches people in ways that traditional therapy sometimes cannot.

There is evidence that when used along with conventional treatment, music helps to reduce pain, relieve chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting and can lower heart rate, blood pressure and breathing rate. It may also relieve stress, provide an overall sense of well being.

The Bridges CD Project will showcase local artists who have donated a piece of music to share inspiration and provide support to patients and their loved ones, who struggle daily with the challenges of cancer.

Proceeds from this CD will support the Pacific Oncology Foundation, which will be used to help those undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

By letting your music be heard, you can help others in the fight against cancer.

************
From  Steve Vaile:

Supporting 'The Bridges' Pacific Oncology Cancer Foundation project is especially personal to me. My Mother passed recently after a long struggle with cancer. 'Journey Through The Heavens', is dedicated to honor her memory. This work, which appears on my new 'You Comfort Me' CD, was co-produced and engineered by Aram 'Hippie' Cartozian. Aram is recovering from cancer and lost a kidney last month. This music is dedicated to 'Hippie's Wall Of Sound'.

Steve Vaile International

"...Dedicated to raising human consciousness through music and media"

Steve Vaile's passion is music, so everything this Pacific Northwest native does pretty much connects in some way to music and the music business (whether producing his original music or other artists). Steve was born into a musical family. His mother sang opera and his dad was a lap-steel guitar player in a country band. That was an interesting combination growing up.

Steve resides in Portland, Oregon, and has lived and played music from New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oahu and Maui to Quito, Ecuador.
His venues of performance include college campuses, America's Bicentennial Celebration rock festival at Diamond Head Crater in Hawaii, and even a cathedral in South America. He has played concerts for Whales and dolphins with underwater speakers and hydrophones using a white grand piano on the deck of the 65' schooner, 'The Searunner', for John Perry's 'Save The Whales' film off the coast of Maui. While living in Los Angeles for the film's post-production recording, many concerts were given in Southern California, including the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium featuring Paul Horn.

Based in Portland, Steve continues to operate his project studio, developing music for film, video, CD releases and upcoming performances.
