I put some dates in the MySpace calendar. Hope to see you there!

On a different note, i am just returning from a super week in Wyoming, where I taught a rock camp alongside Free/Bad Company's Simon Kirke, Banyan's Brian Jordan and Steve Bailey. I had a blast seing my good friends Andy, Jeff, Ed and the gang from last year, the kids were ROCKIN, the jams were awesome and the moose and buffalo were humungous! I love that place and the people there. jackson Hole, seems like Austria, just that everything is twenty times bigger.

Oh, and I am doing another marathon. In December.

Happiness,
Ariane

Little late in announcing this event that I am part of. A night full of solo bass performances, this Thursday, at the Timeless Cuisine, no cover.

http://www.myspace.com/modestobassnights

I dig the whole solo bass movement here in the Bay Area. It's great to be part of it. I am doing a diverse program including a Dave Brubeck tune that I arranged for solo bass, something Celtic, one with vox, and some of my own compositions. Come on out and hear a variety of players on all sorts of basses. You'll get high from the low end, I promise :)

Hi Folks,
I have started a very fun project for my amp endorsers EDEN. I am doing groove pod casts for their School of Music - bite size lessons of Bass teachings with many samples, centered around my favorite thing in the world, da GROOVE.

Pretty much every aspect of music (from improv to theory to timing to articulation etc.) can help your groove, and we will explore those items as well as how to enhance creativity and self expression. This should be of value all through the various levels of playing expertise, and there is an open invitation for interaction (email me your comments/questions/requests recorded as an mp3 and I will work 'em in.)

It is my goal to share with you my experience and my passion. Come on over and groove along!

Volume 1 deals with the Elements of Groove. Check it out, and also the many other cool things the Eden board and the Eden School of Music has to offer!
Cheers and grooves,

...only the sausage has 2 (as we say in German!)
Well, ends is the theme of today's blog.... The end of this Tempest blog, and the end of my time with Tempest. (As for the blog, it will from now on morph into my own blog, so keep visiting!)

I had three really fun and successful years with the band and it was time for me to move on. I found myself facing many changes of personal nature over the summer, so to quit the band seemed like the next logical step.
I am proud of the stamp I had the priviledge to put on Tempest and I wish for the guys that they continue in their successful vein and rock the world!

I made the decision to leave back in September already, but Lief had asked me to not speak of it officially until the new bassist was lined up. Change is good, folks, and as we all know Tempest - it's gonna rock. Keep converting your friends to celtic Rock and turn them on to this band, these guys have great stuff coming up, especially with Karfluki.

It is an exciting place to be, where I am at right now - lots of possibilities. I have gotten some interesting offers already, one band even flew me down to new Orleans to audition for them, we don't quite know what will come of it, but it was great to get the
call. The folks up North might see me with a very cool band in February - I'll blog, so stay tuned. So, there is great stuff in the works band wise, and I am also perfectly happy to take my time with the right new project, and to - FINALLY!!!! - do my own album and a solo program (bass solo), and to help my husband in his composing business, which has gotten very successful. We work with big companies, like Disney, so it is VERY exciting and all freelance. All this - or the next band - may take us to LA at some point... lots of possibilities!

Please, definitely stay in touch, email any time via MySpace (or, if you are not a MySpacer, via arianecap@earthlink.net). Have an eye on my blog here or on my website arianemusic.net, which I am trying to redesign (if I can figure out that flash thingy!!). There will be new tunes up on my MySpace soon, too. Thanks for the blog party, folks, i had a lot of fun with this blogging action and your reactions, comments, reading, lurking, photos....

As of today I have - drumroll please:
67 posts (with every gig except 2 blogged since the spring tour this year)
and -
- woohoo - 11256 views!

By the way, I am always on the hunt for cool photos or videos of yours truly, so if you are happy to share your goodies - I am always grateful.

So - here are the promised photos from the Halloween Show, my last one with Tempest... Thanks Astrea and Lisa for the cool pix!

That's what we say in Austra at the turn of the year... Since it already IS the New Year over there, I give a good Prosit shout! So here is to a happy, healthy and groovey 2007, filled with music, wonders and love.

Vegas Ren Faire was certainly filled with all of the above. Taking you back to a rained out weekend... Tempest had to yield to the rain, but luckily there were enough gigs lined up that we did get to play as well.

Beautiful people...

In the van I had often heard the guys talk about a gig where they had to bring their gear on a boat and set up in the middle of a lake, far far away from the audience, playing to the ducks, whereas the people could probably hardly hear them (which is kind of a rare thing for Tempest...). Well, this year the stage wasn't in the middle of the lake, but here is the lake with the far away island stage in the middle nevertheless - and I guess it's apropriate to say 'FAR OUT'!:

Our hotel should have made ME especially happy, since it had a BASS SHOP in it, but alas.....(click on the pic to see a bigger size)

It really made Adolfo, our token fisherman, most happy (he had actually looked up the store before we came down here, hoping he would have a chance to do some gear buying - and there it was, right IN the hotel...)

I guesss you could call that good luck... which of course is what everybody looks for in Vegas...

The hotel had a huge fishtank in it...

Unfortunately I missed the mermaid feed.
Talking about good luck, feed and casinos!! At the Festival of Courage Ronan and i lucked out. We had gotten vouchers for either the BBQ stands on the grounds or a casino that was a bit down the road. Well, I wasn't in the mood for day old hot dogs, so I made my way to the casino. On my way there I ran into a yard sale. I bought a hole bunch of very cool things, the coolest being three pairs of shoes for a Dollar per shoe! The lady even wanted to give me her own Doc Martins (that she was wearing!) - she must have thought 'shoe fetish!'), but I thought they looked so great on her.
Anyways, there was luck number one. So I keep marching on (with heavy bags and wearing my new New Zealand Wool Jacket for $15) to the casino. Ronanis already there - with a huge grin on his face, sipping some prosecco, waving and pointing to a humungous buffet. The voucher did its magic and I continued the path of indulgence that I had already marched. Ro and i had a fantastic dinner doing the neverending buffet dance, fed some of the slots and made our way back, where the rest of the gang had been quite unhappy with their little overcooked burgers. But i do have to say that we had called them all and left them messages.

Good food, good music, fun and great shoes... Along those lines: PROSIT NEUJAHR!
Grooves,
Ariane

PS:
Stay tuned. i have Halloween photos for you!
