Here are some rules for people coming to shows here at Hurricane Sports Bar. There aren't going to be any exceptions and these are things we HAVE to do otherwise the police will shut us down or we will lose money and have to stop doing shows. No one wants that right?
1. NO RE-ENTRY IF YOU'RE UNDER 21. If you're not 21 you can't leave the venue. If you go outside and try to come back in, you'll have to pay a 2nd time. No one wants you to have to do this. So just chill inside and have a good time. 2. NO LOITERING OR HANGING OUT IN THE PARKING LOT. We've had to many cops show up complaining about the mess and the problems that is being created by disruptive people in our parking lot. To avoid this, when you come to a show at our venue, be prepared to come inside and enjoy the show and have fun or head right back from whence you came. We unfortunately have had a small few bad eggs ruin it for everyone. Maybe in the future this rule will change, but for now, unfortunately, we can't afford to get tickets and fines from the police for disturbing the peace. Bands are cool to be out there, provided they're just taking a breather or loading in gear, otherwise, you guys need to be hanging out inside, too. 3. NO FIGHTING, NO BREAKING OUR STUFF People are getting a little too excited and it's leading to violence. We spend a lot of money putting these shows together as it is, so when you guys start getting too rough and break things or get in fights it makes us discouraged from continuing to provide a constant all ages venue. If you want a place to come hang out and keep seeing good shows, then you need to respect our place. Treat it like you would your grandmother's house except with loud guitars and stuff. Dancing and Moshing and whatnot is cool, just respect our stuff. 4. EVERYONE PAYS TO GET IN Every band gets 1 guest per band member. This is reserved for girlfriends, moms, other type of special people that they feel are worthy of free admittance. Outside of that, every single person that plans on attending a show MUST pay the admission fee.
If everyone can be cool and follow the rules, Hurricane's will be around for a long time, we'll always provide a cool venue for all ages. If not, then we have to start doing 18 and up shows and 21 and up shows, and no one wants that. NONE OF US WANT THAT. So please just respect and follow the rules. Thanks.
Here are some general guidelines for bands playing shows at Hurricane Sports Bar. There will be no exceptions for these guidelines and if you don't follow them don't expect to be asked back. These will help to ensure a happy venue and a happy you, the band.
1. LOAD IN IS AT 7PM UNLESS TOLD OTHERWISE Almost 98% of our shows are load in at 7pm for the bands and doors at 8pm. If it's an earlier door, we'll have to do an earlier load in and we WILL let you know. If you are going to be late for ANY reason, please contact Billy. See the blog about booking for his contact info. Ask him for his phone number if you feel you'll need it. 2. GUESTLIST Bands will be allowed 1 guest per band member performing that evening. At load in, all bands will be required to let the door person know how many band members are in the band and the NAMES of the people on your guestlist. Failure to comply will result in no guests for your band. 3. PLAYING ORDER Set times and performance schedule will be decided the night of the show by Billy. If for any reason you need a specific time slot we require that you inform him AT LEAST 24 hours prior to performance day. We do not schedule based on any special preferences or which bands arrives at load in at what time. 4. PA SYSTEM Hurricane Sports Bar has a MORE than adequate sound system for the size of our venue and it is in a constant state of improvement. We require due to time constraints and convenience that you use our pa system and only our pa system. We will not allow bands to bring in their own. It is too much of an inconvenience in the long run of things to make it a possibility. 5. PAYOUT We provide bands with equal pay with a few exceptions, those being touring bands(more money is generally given to them to help them get gas for their next 6-8 hour drive. You didn't drive that far, your gas tank isn't as empty) and headlining NATIONAL acts. These bands are usually paying for a very specific guarantee and we are then given a specific budget for the opening bands. Band payout is based on the total amount of people in the bar. You may think you deserve more for bringing in a larger percentage of the audience, but that is not fair to everyone. We will generally try to reward these bands with the first choice of the best shows and opening slots for national label shows. The more people that are there to see everyone, the more money that everyone makes. IF you REALLY are dying to get more money, bring merch. We don't see a dime of your merch. All those extra people you brought I'm sure would shell out an extra $10 or $20 bucks for shirts and cd's.
