Thomas Nealeigh, who co-wrote the FSD musical “Flawedville” (with Daniel Hopkins), wrote a short novel called “See You On the Backlot” which is part of the Cutting Edge series for Ransom Publishing. The story of a 15-year-old boy helping run his father’s 10-in-1 sideshow and the dark pass they are running from, “Backlot” has received some good early reviews, and is a great read. Buy a copy – ask for it to be autographed at an FSD show!

Check out one of our favorite knife throwing performers – Jack Dagger – along with the lovely Tonya Kay performing LIVE on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien! Jack helped teach Conan, not only to throw knives but to perform Jack’s infamous “Jack Knife Cucumber Slice.” And Conan did pretty well!!

FSD is currently auditioning new performers and acts! Are you ready for the chance to be a part of the show? MEET OUR NEWEST CAST MEMBER

FreakShow Deluxe is happy to announce a new cast member: Hannah Bel! She just premiered with FSD at our June 26 show at Flamingo’s Show Club in Dayton, Ohio – and did she make an impression! Wow!! She cut her teeth performing with the Pickled Brothers Sideshow out of Kentucky, before throwing in with FSD. She is one to keep an eye on… two, if you can spare them. Look for her at future FSD shows and throw her some love!

Dr. Creep was the host of SHOCK THEATER, a horror movie show he hosted on Channel 22 in Dayton, Ohio from 1972 – 1985. Dr. Creep was very influential on FSD founder, the Rev. Tommy Gunn, and the two became friends about 10 years ago. Truthfully, FSD came together because of Dr. Creep – he was a part of the first shows FSD ever did, not to mention the first TV special, and FSD still uses Dr. Creep’s recorded voice during show introductions, and it is the intro on its FSD’s documentary (from Copp Films, available on DVD).
Recently, Dr. Creep (real name: Barry Hobart) has had some serious health issues. His professional work as a TV personality and pro wrestler, while it made him tons of fans, it was not very profitable, and he needs help raising money to pay for the treatments he needs. There are bands, vendors, and plenty more --
Your Rev. Tommy Gunn will be performing onstage throughout the day, along with other guest FSD members, between bands – so please come out. Show your support for Dr. Creep. Give what you can. Thank you. < /br>

Your FreakShow Deluxe has been invited to return to Hollywood’s exclusive private club for illusionists & magicians, The Magic Castle, for the THIRD TIME! Performing once again in the mysterious Inner Circle (by the W.C. Fields Bar), FSD is planning on once again bringing something new to the Castle that we love so much.

In its debut, FSD was the first sideshow-style troupe ever to perform there; last Halloween FSD was the first to bring burlesque to a Castle stage. THIS TIME FreakShow Deluxe brings the very first REAL KNIFE THROWER to perform at the Magic Castle!!

That’s right, Jack Dagger, the King of Fling, will be there. So will the lovely burlesque sensation, La Cholita. Get ready, too, for the lovely Tonya Kayos to premier at the Castle with FSD. Scheduled for select nights are the famous Professor, and the infamous George the Giant. Include Daniel Hopkinz, Burl-esquire, Kitty Karloff, Vincent Wolf, the Devil’s Plaything and Rev. Tommy Gunn… wow, wow, wow!!

The Magic Castle is a private club, with a strict membership and invitation-only entrance policy and dress code (please see their website at http://www.magiccastle.com for exact details). Through FSD, you can receive an invitation to gain entrance to this exclusive club – rubbing elbows with the magic elite and celebrities who are members and guests – and seeing some of the top illusionists in the world (and, of course, your FSD)!

FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS FOR YOUR MAGIC CASTLE INVITATION: Normally, guests of the Magic Castle and its members are required to both make dinner reservations AND pay the door fee ($20 Thursday & Sunday; $25 Friday & Saturday) to enter. Guests of FreakShow Deluxe have TWO (2) options:
(1) Guarantee your party’s entry into the Palace of Mystery show with dinner reservations by calling 323-851-3313 and reserving the evening of your choice with the password “Freaks” – this is the only way to make a reservation without a member number! Pay the door fee when your party arrives and enjoy a fabulous dinner along with the fabulous entertainment; OR
(2) Email the names of everyone in your party (must match their IDs) and the date you are attending to: thomas@freakshowdeluxe.com (or the “Booking” page on our website). Your names will be placed on the official invited guest list and checked off once you pay the door fee and enter. We will confirm your invitation – then enjoy the fantastic appetizers, snacks and desserts the Magic Castle has to offer along with its many libations – as well as the evening’s entertainment.
The Magic Castle provides valet service at $8 per vehicle.

Dr. Creep was the host of SHOCK THEATER, a horror movie show he hosted on Channel 22 in Dayton, Ohio from 1972 – 1985. Dr. Creep was very influential on FSD founder, the Rev. Tommy Gunn, and the two became friends about 10 years ago. Recently, Dr. Creep has had some serious health issues and needs help raising money to pay for the treatments he needs. This benefit is for him – please come.

Performing once again in the mysterious Inner Circle (by the W.C. Fields Bar), FSD is planning on once again bringing something new to the Castle that we love so much. In its debut, FSD was the first sideshow-style troupe ever to perform there; last Halloween FSD was the first to bring burlesque to a Castle stage. What will it be this time?!?! Come and find out --
The Magic Castle is a private club, with a strict membership and invitation-only entrance policy and dress code (please see their website at http://www.magiccastle.com for exact details). Through FSD, you can receive an invitation to gain entrance to this exclusive club – rubbing elbows with the magic elite and celebrities who are members and guests – and seeing some of the top illusionists in the world (and, of course, your FSD)!

FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS FOR YOUR MAGIC CASTLE INVITATION: Normally, guests of the Magic Castle and its members are required to both make dinner reservations AND pay the door fee ($20 Thursday & Sunday; $25 Friday & Saturday) to enter. Guests of FreakShow Deluxe have TWO (2) options:
(1) Guarantee your party’s entry into the Palace of Mystery show with dinner reservations by calling 323-851-3313 and reserving the evening of your choice with the password “Freaks” – this is the only way to make a reservation without a member number! Pay the door fee when your party arrives and enjoy a fabulous dinner along with the fabulous entertainment; OR

On Wednesday, April 8, 2009, both the episodes “Mouse Trap” (last season’s finale) and “Blades & Volts” (season 2’s premiere) were shown back-to-back to the delight of FreakShow Deluxe fans and the chagrin of people who would like to see safer things on television.  Rev. Tommy Gunn stuck his arm in a bear trap, and remained unhurt. Amy Amnesia had concrete blocks broken over her while she lay uninjured on a bed of nails. Kitty Karloff ascended a ladder of machetes barefoot, then threw darts at the Reverend.

* "Jackass"-style stunts/acts (unless it is REALLY cool and different) - you must have the capability to do the act 4-8 times a day for extended runs keeping yourself & the audience healthy & safe.

* Shock for shock's sake - FSD is about entertainment first and foremost, if it happens to be shocking that is a bonus (of course, we are pretty jaded at this point, too).

* Divas - FSD considers a "diva" to be anyone carrying a lot of attitude, but not having the chops to back it up. We also consider having unrealistic and uninformed ideas about the realities of performing, touring and what goes into a show (including ideas about pay and perqs) to be extremely unprofessional.

* Being unable and/or unwilling to follow company rules and guidelines - FSD places the health, safety and well-being of our performers, audience, the venues where we perform and this company above the individual ego. If you cannot understand that - FSD is not the group for you.

Originally started in 2001 with just two guys and a handful of stunts busking the queue of the Psychopath Haunted Trail in Xenia, Ohio,
FreakShow Deluxe LLC now boasts an impressive roster of almost 30 performers (including 11 core members) and over 40 acts & stunts in its repertoire.

We were just informed that it is an evening of FreakShow Deluxe on the Discovery Channel television show TIME WARP on Wednesday, April 8!
First they will show the finale episode of their first season, “Mouse Trap,” which features FSD’s own Rev. Tommy Gunn risking his own health and safety when he sticks his bare arm into a full-size BEAR TRAP! Then see the clip that is becoming the favorite viral video of thousands as RTG sticks his tongue into a loaded mousetrap – must be seen to be believed!
Next, it is the season premiere for season two, “Blades & Volts,” this time featuring not only your Rev. Tommy Gunn – but also the lovely & talented Amy Amnesia and Kitty Karloff (and Grimm helped out, too)! The troupe filmed a variety of stunts involving beds of nails, sledgehammers, darts, spinal tap needles, scimitars, chainsaws and more – who knows what they will use…? But it should be AMAZING!
It’s like having your FreakShow Deluxe putting on a private show in your very own home – only without them drinking all your beer and scaring your neighbors. Don’t miss it!!

Hollywood's own FreakShow Deluxe is going out on tour!!

That's right - your favorite groups of sideshow misfits & burlesque beauties is planning to tour across the country this spring, summer and fall!

As we prepare, we are putting together our merchandise for this, and we are putting out a call for t-shirt designs!! This is a nationwide call for our fiends & fans to show us what you would like to see (and give our graphics person a rest). FSD will pay for chosen designs.

FOUR SIMPLE STEPS:
1. Create your design (see the guidelines below).
2. Save it in a .jpg format.
3. Put it on your Flckr, Photobucket or other such account.
4. Send the link to your design, along with your contact information to FSD here on myspace!

It is THAT easy!

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:
1. FSD will contact you to get the full-size version of your design in the appropriate format.
2. FSD will pay a flat fee for chosen designs.**(I was just asked, "Why don't you pay me a % on each shirt?" Seriously, now - be realistic. A flat rate for a single design on a low-ticket, limited print run is more than fair.)**
3. YOU get the bragging rights of having your design as part of the FSD tour!
4. YOU retain ownership of your design - FSD will sign a limited use contract with you for it.


GUIDELINES:
* Designs can be single color or multi-color, just keep in mind it will be screened onto color t-shirts (not white).
* Design should contain the group's name: FreakShow Deluxe (NOTE: there is NO SPACE between the word "freak" and the word "show" - but capitalize the "s").
* Do not feel obligated to use the FreakShow Deluxe logo or catch phrase ("Devils or Madmen? You decide!"). If you want to use the FSD logo design, you can find it online.
* You may use public images of FSD performers, if you must, which are available on our website, myspace and various places around the web. Please check with FSD first regarding individual's images.
* Please do NOT use other people's images or intellectual properties. Only your own (and FSD's, of course). The images need not be original for FSD - but they MUST be original from you.

This has been a busy, busy year – even though we canceled our tour because of rising gas prices, and had to deal with the cancellation of several big events – more people than EVER saw live FreakShow Deluxe shows this year! Over 250,000 people saw live FreakShow Deluxe shows in the month of October alone!!

The addition of some new cast members, including Iridescence and the Professor as well as some great new associates and prospects, the premiere of our new musical FLAWEDVILLE, and even more shows & events than we expected has made for what we consider our best year yet – and we expect to go even bigger and better next year! We look forward to you being a part of it.

We filmed a variety of animal traps in action in the slow motion camera - including your Reverend sticking his tongue in a mousetrap (appalling!) and his arm in a bear trap. That's right: a BEAR TRAP (horrifying!).
