workshop:: n.o.madic tribal & Kassar :: Maryland in July


I'm so honored that n.o.madic tribal will be teaching a workshop along side Kassar this July in Frederick, MD. Details here:

Kassar is one of our most direct influences (outside of Meg Gavin and Carolena Nerricio). We first studied with Kassar at Spirit of the Tribes back in 2002 or 3, and since then, we've taken every opportunity to study with them that we can. This will be our second time teaching along side of them (the first being 3rd Coast in 2008)....I'm just as honored this second time. What a shakti blast these two are. Wow.

The story is that the workshop is two days, with Kassar teaching on Sat and n.o.madic on Sunday. The Get-It-All combo deal is $160 (for the early bird special). Last year, the workshops were small, so everyone got personalized, hands-on instruction, and even though the studio space is bigger this time, we're still talking about an intimate teaching environment. There will be a hafla/performance on Saturday night and I might just add that Maryland has GREAT wine.

All of this is happening in Frederick, MD which is easily accessible from Baltimore, DC, PA and even W. Virginia.

I'm so excited. I fell in love last year--with the land, with the people, with the wine (ahem)...all of it was sweet and intoxicating.

Sacred Movement Yoga begins with a moving invocation inspired by Tribal Bellydance, continues with a vinyasa practice in rhythm with the breath and the music, and ends with closing invocation and a grounding meditation.

NEW TRIBAL BELLYDANCE CLASS by Tanya from n.o.madic tribal!

Six-week session on Mondays,
September 29 - November 10 (no class November 3)
at Crescent Lotus Studio
from 8:30-9:30 p.m.

The focus of this session will be on learning and refining the technique of a variety of hip movements, as well as learning slow and fast tribal and tribal fusion combinations that incorporate these movements. All levels of dancers are welcome!
