My Committment to the Body of Christ In Light of the Elections

As I sit here and watch the results of our election on the news, I am hearing it said that "A conservative era is over."

I have made a decision tonight. My goal as a Christian minister in America is to teach Christians how to live the Christian life in the midst of a culture that is turning more and more away from the standards and morals that bring joy to God's heart. My goal is to teach people how to stand for what they believe in, even if the laws endorse the opposite. My passion is to teach Christians to live holy in an unholy world. No matter what comes, we must continue to seek God with all our hearts, live completely for Him and continue to SHINE our light in the world and culture around us.

The darker it gets outside, the brighter our light will shine. There is a greater glory coming. Maybe that greater glory will be seen in the midst of greater darkness.

As I watch Obama's acceptance speech and hear him say that all Americans are one, including both gay and straight (using those words exactly) I am deeply concerned in my heart for the direction our nation has just turned in. Change has come. Exactly what that means will unfold in the days ahead.

Even though I am concerned what will be endorsed in America in this new era, I know we must pray for Obama. We must pray for his salvation, wisdom to be granted from the Lord, and for our nation's heart to turn toward God more than ever in this time.

Church, it is time to shine! Live the life you were created to live. When the world calls evil, good and good, evil, we must stand for TRUTH no matter what.

People may want CHANGE. But one thing that never changes, is the word of God. This is our standard. This is our foundation.

We will keep the faith, live for Jesus, and shine His light everywhere we go!

God bless,

Matt

What a week we have been having here in Oklahoma at the yearly Barn Revival. That's right. I said Barn Revival. We have been meeting in a barn, with horses and all. It is very nostalgic; reminds me of the old tent crusades, just replaced by a large barn.

The presence and glory of God keeps increasing more and more each night.

There has been a great prophetic flow throughout the week. But tonight we had a tremendous outpouring of healings and miracles. As I began to lead the people in worship the tangible presence of Holy Spirit came into the room. I could feel waves of His presence going all over me. I began to call out words of knowledge for healing and before we knew it the altar was full of people testifying to miracles in their bodies!

I will release a more detailed miracle report once we process all the testimony forms.

Some highlights include:

1. A woman who has a heart condition with a stint in it was in a lot of pain when she came into the meeting. Her heart condition even caused pain in her ears. She wept as she testified to all the pain in her heart and ears completely disappearing.

2. A young man had injured his ankle with torn ligaments. His ankle never set right so he had a brace on it. I called forth a specific word of knowledge concerning an ankle that never healed right. He took his brace off. The swelling disappeared along with the popping in his ankle. He began to run around with no pain and got all the movement back in his ankle like it was new!

3. A man with a frozen shoulder was healed completely.

4. Many back conditions were healed. A man who was thrown off a horse had crushed several vertebrae in his back and was in much pain. The pain completely left him and he received total mobility back in his back.

There were lots more healings! These were just a few.

I thank God for His presence, anointing and glory! There is nothing like living in intimate fellowship with God and seeing His power flow through you.

God Bless,
Matt

What Hangs on Your Walls and

Fills Your Dresser Space?

As I sit in my room tonight, I am enjoying some time with the Lord. How awesome to be able to end the day thanking God for the blessings He gave me today and to be able to allow His presence to wash over me as I get ready for a good night sleep. There really is something about talking with God at night. For me, it is always a special time. The world around me seems quiet. Although I know outside the four walls of my room the world is filled with pain and turmoil, mostly due to the wrong choices people are choosing to make in their lives. Next to me on the wall is a poster with the prayer of Jabez. It ends with "Keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" This prayer seems very fitting, especially during a time where I see so much pain, even in the church from the poor choices people make. Oh Lord, keep ME from evil, that I may not cause pain. I know even for myself, that poor choices that I would choose to make will not only affect me, but many others. I am aware of that. So I pray that God would keep me from evil and keep evil far away from me. I pray that I would always stay close to God so that evil would never find a way into my life. I am making that request tonight.

It seems that so much has crept into our nation. I can see it getting darker outside. I am praying for more grace to keep me, as more people fall away from God and His ways. You just have to watch a few minutes of a current popular TV show to see what ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Hollywood is spewing into the minds of young people all across America. It is desensitizing our moral conscience to what is right and wrong. Evil things are being portrayed as cool and trendy. Things like having babies out of wedlock, being unfaithful to your spouse, pornography, premarital sex, alternative lifestyles, divorce, alcohol, drugs and so much more. It's not just in our nation. It has crept into the church. It has snuck its way into the hearts of God's children. Like a weed growing up through a crack in the pavement. I can remember as a kid in summer time going around and pulling out the weeds that would grow up through the cracks in our driveway. There are some weeds that need to be pulled out and some cracks that need to be closed!

Sin is not trendy and it is not cool. No matter what the popular opinion may be, truth is truth. A dangerous deception has crept into our Hollywood-like Christianity. This deception says I can do what is convenient for me and still continue to represent God to the world. We need to wake up church before we find our homes full of weeds because the foundation beneath us is full of cracks. One thing is true, there needs to be a new level of accountability in the church, especially for leaders who have taken on the privilege and responsibility of representing God to the world.

As I write this, I start with me. I have made myself personally accountable to my immediate family and ministry staff and have given them the freedom to be a "checks and balance" in my life. I have told them, "If you see me going off one tiny bit, make sure you tell me! If you ever see me getting prideful, tell me. If you ever see me going off in my doctrine, tell me. If you ever see me acting in an unkind way, tell me." I have made myself accountable to them as well as to strong godly leadership in my life. I seek council and allow older men of God to speak into my life and ministry and take everything in prayer to the Lord. Our ministry staff has made a commitment to one another to live a life of purity and purpose. We have committed to place computer software on all of our ministry computers as well as personal computers that will let each of us know the websites that have been viewed on those computers. We are taking every step possible to guard the integrity and character of our personal lives as well as our ministry lives. We acknowledge our weakness and declare our need for the grace of God to empower and keep us close to Jesus all the days of our lives. We know He is able to keep us. We want the end of our lives to be a testimony, not a smear across the body of Christ.

You know, you can tell a lot about a person by observing their personal space. You can see what is important to them and what they value. Just look at what hangs on the walls of their bedroom and what kinds of things take up space on their dressers and shelves. If you haven't done so recently, step back and observe your own personal space. It will tell you a lot about yourself.

Tonight I want to bring you into my room. I want you to imagine my walls and dressers and see what I see. To the left of my bed hangs on the wall a large poster of the Prayer of Jabez given to me by my father as a gift. Next to that is a large frame containing pictures of my family. Family is very important to me. We have a very close family filled with a lot of love! On my tall dresser sits an olive wood statue of David as a young boy with a sheep. My mom gave this to me as a gift from Israel. It represents to me the heart of the youthful David, filled with vision, courage and love for God and His people. It also represents the strength to take down every giant that would stand in my way. It represents David's heart after God that qualified him to be anointed king. I deeply value all these things. Next to the David statue is a baseball given to me by Dutch Sheets with the words "Dream God's Dream" on it. This always reminds me to make God's dream, my dream. This baseball sits on a small dish I bought in England last year with an imprint of John Wesley's Chapel on it. I highly value the legacy and impact John Wesley left behind. It reminds me of the wonderful prayer time I had in John Wesley's prayer room when I was ministering in England. Next to that are some rocks I acquired while in Israel last year. And last but not least is a mug I bought in Wales. It has a picture of a road full of sheep on it. This reminds me of the Welsh Revival of 1904 and stirs my faith for today's harvest of souls.

As I continue across the room I come to my desk. Somewhat cluttered with books, CD's, papers, sermon notes, books signed by some wonderful friends in the ministry, I look above the desk on to the wall. There are three large pictures that hang on the wall. The first is a picture of a deer drinking from the water brook. The second is a flying eagle. The third is a picture of man running his race to the finish line. All three mean so much to me. The deer picture is my hearts cry for God's presence. Like the deer my soul longs for God! The eagle portrait is my desire to fly like wings of eagles and to soar above the things of this world on the wind of God's Spirit. The third picture is what I want to see at the end of my life. I want to hear God say "Well done good and faithful servant." I want to run my race with character and in the power of the Spirit and cross that finish line in victory!

On my lower dresser to my right sits an amazing olive wood carving of the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant on their shoulders. Underneath the ark I have placed a statue of a young boy holding a gold heart in his hands near his heart on his chest. This all represents one thing to me, carrying the glory of God on my life. Like the priests of old, I never want to touch the glory with the hand of flesh. I want to carry and bear His presence upon my life. Like the boy holding a heart of gold in His hands, I want to hold God's heart in my hands and hold it as close to my chest as possible! Next to the ark is a plaque that reads "The man who walks with God always gets to his destination." This reminds me every time I read it that as long as I stay close to God He will get me to where I need to go. Behind this plaque is a small chalice from Wales with some rocks I picked up from Moriah Chapel in Wales back in 2004 on the weekend of the 100th year anniversary of the Welsh Revival. This represents my love for revival. Hanging on the wall is a commemorative plate I got in Wales celebrating what God did through the life of young Evan Roberts. On the wall above the dresser is another large picture of a lighthouse with waves crashing all around it. This was a gift from my parents back in 1997 when I graduated from Bible School. Beneath the picture is a scripture that reads "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock." (Mt. 7:24-25). More than anything else I want my life to be firmly built on Christ and His word. More and more these days I am returning to the simplicity of the gospel and am continually setting my mind upon the rock that secures my life, God's word. The waves will come and go. But God's word will keep me through it all!

I thought it would be interesting to share with you an intimate insight into the things I see everyday around me and a birds' eye view of what hangs on my walls and fills my desk space. Why not take a step back to see what fills your space. You may learn a lot about yourself.

Hey guys,

Here's a quick update. I just got home from France. Had an awesome time in the Spirit there. I was met by an angel of the Lord when I first arrived. He escorted me around Paris all day. We had some wonderful meetings in the Holy Spirit.

Now I am in MI at a youth conference...the presence of God is good and we are breaking through with Holy Spirit fire.

I am off to Canada next week.

I am pressing in after God for more of His glory. I am also in the process of beginning a book. It's my first one. Pray that God leads me as I put it together.

This week I was also in NC with Sid Roth doing a TV taping for his show It's Supernatural. It went really well.

Talk to you all soon!

Keep the fire,

Matt

Special Guests:

Matt Sorger
Matt Sorger is a prophetic revivalist who travels throughout America and the nations of the world bringing a fresh word and a fresh impartation of God’s Spirit through regional conferences, prophetic healing revival services and miracle crusades. Matt carries a strong healing and miracle anointing, with many instantly healed in his meetings. His vision is to see the harvest brought into the Kingdom of God through power evangelism with signs and wonders following the preaching of the Word. His ministry is also used to help spread the fires of revival and ignite a fresh passion in the hearts of believers to go deeper in their relationship with God.

Heidi Baker
Rolland and Heidi Baker are founders and directors of Iris Ministries God has given them a heart for the poor and they have been missionaries for the last 24 years in Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Heidi Baker was ready to call it quits until she received a sudden life-changing touch from God. In 1995, Heidi and her husband, Rolland, arrived in the poorest country in the world and took over a horribly dilapidated and neglected orphanage with eighty children with no promised support. Today, they care for more than 1,000 children daily. They also planted a church, which spread like fire throughout the neighboring countries. There are currently over 5,000 churches and still growing! According to many church historians, this is one of the greatest church-plant movements in the history of the Church. Don’t miss hearing absolutely incredible testimonies of God’s miraculous provision, salvation, healing, deliverance... even the dead being raised back to life!

Although Heidi holds a BA and MA from S.C.C., Vanguard University and a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from King’s College, University of London, she learned more on the floor, under the weighty glory of Jesus for 7 days and 7 nights in Toronto than in 10 years of University. Jesus told her, "You can do nothing without Me and nothing without the Body of Christ."

One third of Heidi’s time is spent traveling throughout the nations preaching on a passion for Jesus. Her heart is to impart His huge heart of love. Heidi loves Jesus more than life. Her life message is that all fruitfulness flows out of intimacy with Him. (John 14 and 15)

Georgian Banov
With a fresh touch of God on their lives, Georgian, Winnie and their daughter, Yana, travel extensively, conduct daily revival meetings as well as Riverlution Conferences throughout churches in the United States and overseas. There is a strong anointing and tangible sense of the presence of God during their exuberant, joyful praise and deep, intimate worship. They deliver a powerful message to the Body of Christ, based on fresh revelations from the Epistles of Paul. Their presentation of the Gospel is with rare clarity and depth, causing life changes, healing and freedom from the past and religious bondages. Signs, wonders, and impartation of the manifest presence of Christ in the heart of the believers, always accompany their preaching of the Word.

David Herzog
David Herzog is being used worldwide to spread the "Glory Realm" of God. Creative miracles, healings, signs, and wonders are a common occurrence in his meetings, as David also ministers in the prophetic and revelatory realms and trains believers to do the same. He ministers in conferences, crusades, and revivals across the USA and 30 nations worldwide, and leads yearly tour/outreaches to Israel. David also hosts a weekly Television program, "The Glory Zone," across Europe and N. America and has appeared frequently on TBN, Daystar, It’s Supernatural, and other Christian television programs. He is the author of several books including Mysteries of the Glory Unveiled and founder of David Herzog Ministries. David is also a graduate of Christ for the Nations. Recently, God has been displaying a new and unusual glory in his meetings resulting in a greater harvest of souls.

Sole Desire Ministries
Sole Desire Ministries is a full-gospel ministry from Dallas, TX created for the sole purpose of reaching the lost with the love of Jesus Christ in a hurting world. They are a worship ministry designed to restore, heal, and comfort those in need. Sole Desire Worship Band consists of a group of musicians whose passion is to lead people into the Presence of God through worship and to bring them to the saving knowledge of Christ through the preaching of the Word. People have been saved and healed DURING worship. This ministry is a "restoration ministry", equipped to encourage hurting people, churches and pastors. In addition, Sole Desire is a bi-lingual ministry, leading worship and bringing the message of Jesus in Spanish and English. They have a burden for the Latin Community and are making an eternal impact.

SD Ministries also brings a message of hope through its Food and Clothing Distribution Outreaches. "Project Lead and Feed" is a program designed to provide food and clothing to those in poverty-stricken areas.  It is SDM’s desire to not only meet their physical needs, but most importantly, their spiritual needs. They accomplish this by holding outreaches where worship is prominent and the message of salvation is preached. They are then able to bless families with staple food items, clothes, shoes, and toys for the children. This ministry has spread hope from hurricane-strickened Louisiana to Reynosa and Ciudad Victoria, Mexico.
