DEATH THRASHER MEGAZINE (Perù - South America)
Behind this grim creation there’s one man only, Souldaemon, who has been making an effort to do this project since 1999. He procreates a Heretic Death/Black Metal, where he sings and plays bass. The main characteristic of this aberration is the lack of guitars: this mysterious character has only got a distorted bass and a shattered throat. This is a gothic, melancholic and devastating material, even sickly and chaotic per moments. That disturbing bass meeting that voice create a psychotic, dark atmosphere… I am convinced this man is possessed. "Dead World" for example, track that opens the album, is extremely loud. I like the creativity, originality and attitude put under a crazy atmosphere of immense darkness. There are also fast and strident songs like "Barren Land" or "Who calls in the Night", even a terrifying instrumental like "Demons of my Soul". I stress out the fact that with few resources Souldaemon manages to generate great feelings of panic and horror. When someone's work goes unnoticed and doesn’t generate any kind of feelings is doomed to oblivion; but, when you captive with deathlike feelings, is because you are doing things the right way. This material is only for visionaries and madmen!!! Not for children!!! http://www.deaththrasher.com/METAL DEMONS (Itlay) 30/09/08Si risente dopo tre anni il progetto Soul Daemon, one man band dell'omonimo bassista padovano. Lord Lucyfer. http://www.metal-empire.it/BRUTALISM (Netherland) 20/07/08This album was released in 2006 already but it was send to me some months ago. But it is never too late to receive something. Souldaemon is a visionary project of an Italian guy who plays bass and calls himself Souldaemon. But as this is an one man project he is also doing the vocals and drummachine. And now you think I forgot to mention the guitars but that wasn't wrong. Souldaemon is not using guitars at all. Just bass and drum which gives it a dark, melancholic, raw and distorted sound. He recorded the bass in several overdubs in the song and it gives a deep sound. And you will be impressed by the riffs and solos he can do. After a while you don't miss the guitars and you will be sucked into the tunes. His vocals are cold growling in up tempo tunes or amothsperic mid paced tunes. It is an unique form of dark death metal that scores high on originality and well performed. So go to his site and preview the tunes, you will be enjoyed. Twan www.brutalism.comBURNING MYSERY (Holland) 29/06/08Italy has been placed on the map as of late for the increasing musical abilities of the countries' bands! Let's take SoulDaemon, this band has just released a doom-type record entitled, "Dead World" which is exactly how the opus sounds! Production is grim and raw giving the album a very primitive sound. I don't know what Souldaemon was going for, but it worked! They don't have a label to call home yet, maybe this release will help them. Souldaemon came about back in 1999, since then they have released 3 demos and now an ep. Souldaemon has a lot of work to do before they become a recognized band. Musically, the band lacks nothing, but production can really hinder a band's talents on a record; Souldaemon will probably figure this out from this release. What the listener gets is an 8 track release totaling 33 minutes of grim black/death metal. There is also an ambient type of feel to this record. Something like an experimental metal sound of some sort. It goes well with what the band are trying to accomplish, they have a long way to go. If you're a fan of old killer black metal like Beherit or a doom/black metal band like Therion from the beginning days then maybe this will catch your ear. Other than that Souldaemon should go back to the drawing board for their future releases! Alex http://www.burningmisery.com/LEGIONE NERA (Italy) 30/05/08
PULL THE CHAIN (Belgium) 30/03/2008
This is another of those releases that should have been reviewed some three years ago. No excuses!!! but Souldaemon are not your easiest band around. I already reviewed the previous work recorded by this Italian one-man project and what we get here is its new eight songs promo. «Dead World» is a fair evolution from its last release («Fragment of Sanity» released in 2005), no great leaps in style or musical direction, as this is very much in the same vein, rather a more eclectic form of the already very original concept. Relying on bass line (coupled with effects, a drum machine and some ice cold vocal works) «Dead World» finds a band amalgamating death and black metal atmospheres. As you can guessed with this kind of ultra original project, «Dead World» is dedicated to a very selected audience and is most likely to please instrumentalists and those that prefer structural specialties over catchiness and direct impact. Original. Georges www.pullthechain.beOPEN GRAVE Awesome Death Metal played with only a bass and drums, no Guitar. One for those that wish to experiment a bit with their death metal! Open Grave
MUSIC EXTREME (Argentina) Issue 43 november 2007
A crushing bass guitar opens up this release over wind sounds and a drumming that leaves space for the bass to develop the main idea. Then come the brutality with a deathly voice that gives a more extreme feeling to the music. But the main thing here is the bass guitar that delivers riffs that in other bands are created by the guitars. So this kind of weird instrumentation, combined with programmed drums give an extremely original sound to the music here. And there is plenty of experimentation here with tempos and with sounds, with crushing bass arrangements. This is extreme metal with a death metal feeling and with a really unique sound that I hope Souldaemon will continue exploring in the future. http://www.musicextreme.com INVISIBLE ORANGES (Germany)
I'm firmly believe in "it's not what you have, it's what you do with it." Italy's SoulDaemon is a great example. Using only bass, drum machine, vocals, and effects, this one-man band has crafted a strange but cool EP in Dead World. Though the sound isn't exactly black metal, the sensibility is, with raspy vocals and a bleak vibe .... It's perhaps a bassist's dream come true to play with no guitarists. SoulDaemon makes the most of this, running his bass through distortion, playing full power chords, and overdubbing lead lines (back in the day, Ned's Atomic Dustbin did the same low/high thing with their two bassists). Some of the riffs are quite catchy, especially in the instrumental "The Breath of a New Day," which reminds me of those sped-up "TV" interludes on Ministry albums. At times, the playing is a little loose against the machine percussion. Overall, that's not a problem, though, as this EP isn't meant to be polished. It's raw and has quite a unique air about it. Add in some nice artwork, and you have an enjoyable little EP. You can pick it up from SoulDaemon's MySpace or directly through email. ....

You are The Devil
Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession
The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.
Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

What Tarot Card are You?
