I was crazy nervous before this act. I had never used my fans in front of others, I had only had one hour of practice in a studio thanks to my sweet friend Weirdee Girl. Not to say there weren't people trying to help me out, thank you Candy and Anna! But I have to say it all fell into place perfectly. I can't wait to perform it again!

So this has been a long needed post. But I just have to say, we need a dance club. I mean a true to life dance club that is truly welcoming of everyone. Apex used to be that for me. I could go, be fabulous on a Saturday and dance like a queen, but after they cancelled Liquid Ladies under suspicious reasonings I have not been back. I want, I yearn, I need a place that plays good music, that promotes go-go dancing, that has shows and energy and everyone flowing for the experience of dancing. I want to see a place that has queens and kings and burlesque all on the same stage. On going shows while people dance in the audience. Glitter, feathers and skin from every angle. I enjoy performing in my bar venues but sometimes I want to bust it out afterwards. Let my hair flow. I want to be a place where everybody is a celebrity. a place where people want to come here just to say they are part of it.
Sigh, Let me dance! Let me be in a a bra and panties and waving my arms in the air while I dance in heels and glitter. Let me be as fabulous as I want to be and let everyone be in awe of how fabulous they are as well.

Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird, random things, facts, or habits about yourself. At the end, you choose 10 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them to be tagged. Don't forget to leave them a comment "You're It!" and to read your blog. You can't tag the person who tagged you. Since you can't tag me back, let me know when you've posted your blog so I can see your answers..... I hate underwear except when I'm wearing pants. (I hang out in my house in a shirt and bra and no bottoms)

So I had a show at the Outrageous Gay-la last night for the GLBT Center of Baltimore. IT was a great show, everyone looked fabulous, guests dressed as artists and works of art so my troupe, the Gilded Lily, created numbers around the same premise.
I chose to be a painter. I had my "still life" items and my canvas and paint and even a beret! It went great. the lighting was a little bit off but they all got my number. At the end I decided to just go at it and I pressed my painted flesh against the canvas. It actually ended up creating this very awesome design.
After I got offstage, Maria Bella's boyfriend Tommy came back and asked if his coworker Simon could buy the painting. He and his partner were so moved they wanted the piece to hang in simon's Office. So I came back out, haggled with him a bit and sold the painting! Later on that night other people came up to me and were asking about buying the piece and I had to tell them it was already spoken for. they were so upset!
Good thing I'm planning to do this piece a couple more times. Now to see if we can get a bidding war over them ;)

So I had a gig in Baltimore this weekend that ended up being fantastic. The Gilded Lily was asked perform at the Karb Kings Mobtown Greaseball. The venue was a little meh, but the day itself was wonderful. I met up with the other Girlies from The Gilded Lily and we walked around the cars and posed for the owners and some photogrpahers.
I got a chance to meet an amazing incredible pin up model, Asia Devinyl. She was amazing. Incredibly gorgeous in person and just a sweetheart. Her husband Joe was also great. I feel so honored to get the chance to hang out with them and talk, I will not soon forget it.
Well, Maria Bella and I decided to compete in the Miss Greaseball competition. Sable Sin Syr was the reigning queen so it was fun to compete. I think about 16 girls entered, it was insane but such a great selection of beauty. I actually ended up getting 1st runner up! The woman that won was a firefighter so I think that was factor, not that I'm bitter ;)
We then performed at our numbers at the bar. It was an evening of malfunctions on my part. My costume buttons got stuck, my button ripped a whole in my fishnets, my wig kept slipping around, my pants wouldn't come off and that was just the first number. During my second number I couldn't get my bra off and ended up just flipping it down! Oy! It was so embaressing! Everyone was sweet enough about it though.
I forgot to mention, in my downtime I got a tattoo! they had an amazing parlor out there and after some talking we (Heidi and myself) got them to tattoo us right there, in the parking lot! IT was crazy! The piece is beautiful and I think we would return to him for more work.
So yeah, good Saturday, it was able to keep me from having a panic attack from the trials going on in my life, literally.

So Miss Lil' Dutch created the first ever DC Burlesquefest by accident! It was by mistake, We had Astrid Labia, Sugar Ann Spice, Shortstaxx, Lil' Dutch, and ME!! We also had some amazing burlesque fans and a carney student. We all agreed that we had to do it again the following year. We just grilled up some sausages, drank some tiki punch, swam like fishes, ate asian coleslaw and danced to the King. It was an incredible time.
It was truly what I needed after all the horrible trauma and despair I have been dealing with. I am so thankful of all those that were present at the picnic. It gives me hope again in society and individuals.
I needed a break from my life right now and that was what I got.
