Y’know, it seems like just two (three?) years ago when we started telling everyone about the new record we were working on called Great Plains.  Good Gawd time does fly when yer not paying any attention.

Well, we’re all proud to say that Great Plains is finally a real album.  You can get it at your favorite local CD shoppe, or online.  It should be at all the regular music download sites (itunes, emusic, etc.), and is also available direct from Greyday Productions (www.greydayproductions.com/).

Also, if yer anywhere near Chicago this weekend, please come by Schuba’s (www.schubas.com) on Friday night for the CD release show.  Tickets are available online now!

Hope to see you there,
your pals,
Head of Femur

Current mood:  excited
Howdy, Howdy, Howdy,

Please take the time to gallup on over to www.daytrotter.com & check out FOUR (count ’em, 4!) new LIVE recordings of Head of Femur tracks.  We were lucky enough to visit Iowa’s Quad Cities a few months back, & record live versions of some of our favorite songs.  You can listen to ’em on the site, or even download them for free.
The versions we performed live that wintery afternoon are all different than the studio versions you may, or may not, be familiar with.  Feel free to contrast and compare each version, until you have discovered all the missing or added elements.  I for one really enjoy Mike’s tripped out/surf/Neil Young guitar solo on Jetway Junior.  Way to add the hot sauce on that one Mike!

Oh yeah, our new record, Great Plains, hits your favorite retailer’s shelves (or web pages) next Tuesday the 25th of March.  Please mark it on yer calendar & take part in your own "Super Tuesday".  And if yer cd shoppe doesn’t carry it, ask ’em to special order a couple.  You know, for kids.

yours,
HoF

Well, I guess it was inevitable.  The Head of Femur myspace page got hacked, and "we" sent out hundreds of spam messages to our friends.  I'm not sure if you were offered a free gift card, a time-share condo, or a date with an 18 year-old.  Whatever it was, I'm sure it was such a fantastic offer that you couldn't help but click on the link & get sucked into a pornado of spam.  For that, I'm so, so sorry.  Please accept our apology, & let us know if this crap ever happens again.
In other Femur news, we're wrapping up the "design" phase for our new album, & sending off it the printing press later this week.  The release date for Great Plains is March 25th (on Greyday Records!), so it will obviously make a great April Fools Day present.  Hmmm..maybe we're making this whole thing up?
Looking forward to playing some shows again come March/April.
yours,
Colby
