Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation is proud to debut a cool new website called Site of a Million Stars (www.millionstars.org) that we hope will unite millions of individuals and organizations from all over the world in an effort to bring seriously ill children and their families out of the dark.

For a donation as small as $5 you can design a star and put it in a galaxy that means something to you (there are galaxies for celebs, states/countries, bands, and more). But it isn't just about making a donation to a good cause -- you get something back too. You can add a personal message, a photo/logo and website link (myspace page) to your star to promote something (your band, play, restaurant, book, school, business, etc.) or make someone feel special (thank your parents, tell the world how great your puppy is, honor your kids, welcome your niece to the world, etc.)

We're expecting millions of people to visit the site once we launch to the public next week, so your star and whatever you choose to say will be seen by a big audience.

I hope you'll decide to shine a light into the lives of families who need it most, and to help us spread the world about Site of a Million Stars!

P.S. If you know any business, band or other entity that would like to create a galaxy and help promote the site to fans, customers, etc., please send a note to
millionstars@starlight.org. Also, gift certficates are available to anyone who wants to give stars as gifts this holiday season.

Tune in tomorrow morning (Wednesday 8/1) to "BE HAPPY DAMMIT,"  hosted by best selling author Karen Salmansohn. The Sirius radio show will broadcast on Channel 114 at 8 a.m. EST and will feature interviews with two popular Starlight Starbright StarPower AmbassadorsRob Pinkston (plays Ashton Kutcher's new young field agent on MTV's Punk'd and Coconut Head on Nickelodeon's Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide) and Kristy Frank (recording artist). The celebrities will discuss ways to help make a difference for Starlight Starbright by using www.goodsearch.com, a search engine powered by Yahoo!

Through GoodSearch, anyone can designate Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation as a beneficiary, and every time you search, a small donation is made to benefit the seriously ill children and families we serve. What's great is that you use GoodSearch just as you would any search engine.

GoodSearch donates half its revenue, about a penny per search. It may sound insignificant, but it will quickly add up if it catches on. So spread the word to friends and family and search away, knowing that with each click, you are helping our cause. Again it's powered by Yahoo!, so you get proven, high-quality results.

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure Starlight Starbright is designated as the charity you want to support!

One very special Starlight Starbright child, Michael Jackson has been working hard to raise money to support other seriously ill children served by the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation. Michael currently has a Starlight Starbright donation page, and has a fundraising goal of raising $2,000....he is almost there. Below is Michael's very own fundraising letter:

"Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation helps kids who are sick in many ways. They provide Fun Centers which are video games on wheels to hospitals for kids to play with. They also contain a DVD player. They provide PC Pals with many games of Disney's on it. For me the best thing is Starbright World. I go on SBW to talk to kids because they are people I can talk to about what is going on in my life with surgeries, hospitalizations, doctors etc. via chat rooms, blogs and bulletin boards. They offer Great Escapes and invite kids on outings whether it is to a baseball game or to a movie. It allows friendships to happen with other kids and offers great fun!

I have created a donation page! Please donate at www.starlight.org/friends/michael

P.S. Please pass this on! I am on my way to my goal of $2,000! I need at least $505 more!

Michael Jackson"

Give with confidence! For the 5th year, Starlight Starbright received the highest 4-star rating from Charity Navigator. Only 2.74% of charities have received five consecutive 4-star ratings, indicating that Starlight Starbright "outperforms most charities in America in its efforts to operate in the most fiscally responsible way possible."

Starlight Starbright meets the BBB Wise Giving Alliance's Standards for Charity Accountability, a national charity watchdog affiliated with the Better Business Bureau system.
