It seems like its been 10 years since i got a hold of Kris Averett to bring this project back together, and surprisingly enough to say, it was incredibly easy.
I'm not really good at this kind of stuff.
But it was because of all of you, each person that has been willing to buy at ticket for a ridiculous 10 dollars to come see us live(sometimes as much as 3 times a month), every person who has been willing to buy a shirt, a cd.
Hell a grip of you wouldn't accept the change for the merchandise you have purchased, at the time.. taking that money, it kills me, but those of you that give us that money, that support. help us so much more than you will ever understand.
The things we have accomplished would have never had a chance of happening without these people, you people..
To be completely honest, i play in a small pop punk band from utah, and i'm unemployed because of it.. I know that as of right now, there is nothing i can do to repay, to give back to you guys as much as you guys have given me, or this band.
Alot of you have told me, "I'm proud of you Alex, you're following your dreams, taking a risk" to be completely honest, i wouldn't have the opportunity to be playing the music i love, with the people i love, if it weren't for the people i love.
Since elementary, every birthday, every christmas. every day, i would ask my parents for a instrument, at the time a violin, by 7th grade it was a guitar. since 4th grade.. music has consumed my life, i was always at the show's, i had to sneak in cause the venues wouldn't let me in, i had to tell my parents i was having sleepovers so i could go to the shows, when i hit junior high i started putting show's together, got to meet more people, find out more what it was like on the inside. when i hit 9th grade i joined my first band(we where terrible).
I don't come out with this often, but i dropped out of high school for music, i couldn't leave my guitar, i could live 7 hours without my portable cd player, i went to one class of highschool, and that hour without music killed me.
I'll never live this down, and the only thing keeping me going is all of you, any one who has been to a show, wrote a message, wrote a comment, bought a shirt or a cd, you are keeping the flame alive in us.
As some of you know we've recently had a change in line-up.
there are some rumors, some very false rumors.
That there may be some bad blood between The Recovery, and the former members.
The recovery - Matty, Matt, Brock and myself are still great friends with both Brian and Kris.. and always will be..
They've been on this whole journey with us, and have as much to do with this band as i do, both of them did a great job in the band, but had other callings.
Both The Recovery and I thank you with all our hearts,
And hope to see you at the next show!
Alex
